12th January 2020 at 4:56 pm #59136What is it with defending players trying to be too cute in their own box?Particularly against a team like City. Just clear it.

12th January 2020 at 5:20 pm #59153“9-I would much rather have Shaqiri,Winaldum and Henderson[no idea how much they cost-combined?],than the utterly useless Instagramvirus that cost Β£90m,and the Β£52m right said-Fred.Or maybe, just maybe, its the fact that they play for United, and it seems every player joining us becomes worse,or is it the Klopp factor, who knows⦔
Bit unfair to blame Klopp for United’s problems Mav.?
Do you think De Bruyne has been improved by Pep? I think he might have been.

12th January 2020 at 5:23 pm #591569-Even Fellaini would have improved had he played for Pep or Klopp, lol.

12th January 2020 at 5:39 pm #59169AnonymousTo weigh in on the Klopp talk. True about VVD and Alisson. Super expensive and even mocked at the time. Of course time is the thing that has the last laugh, regardless and in this case, ya… bargains.
But the other gems of a complete opposite nature are the Wijnaldums and Robertsons etc. Players that nobody was really after. Salah and Mane might even fall into this category, as although they weren’t cheap at the time, they were still kinda unearthed. Robertson is obviously the best example of this though and was relegated with Hull. Gini was relegated with newcastle (I think it was Neville/Carra who touched on the relegated players we signed). nobody wanted these players but any good side could have had them. So, whilst we credit Klopp, you’ve got to look at Edwards and the scouting team. These are some under-appreciated/credited people when it comes to conversations about how far this team has come.
I don’t know how it works, I mean did Klopp go and tell the lads that he needs a left back who could bomb up and down, cross well but also defend? Did he give them some really specific traits that he needed and they came back with some unknown guy from a freshly relegated side? I’d love to know the process but of course it’s not just a case of Klopp watching him and saying “Buy him, he’s the guy for us”, those days are gone.
As for Wijnaldum, apparently HE approached Klopp. There was talk about him introducing himself to Klopp after a match against Newcastle, as he walked off the field. It kinda rings a bell but I’m not sure why but anyway, Gini apparently went over and touched one shoulder but he was on Klopp’s other side… you know that old trick? so Klopp looks one way then corrects himself and looks the other and that was the beginning of an apparent friendship of sorts. Ya, Gini and Klopp are very close. I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see them work together when he hangs up his boots.
Nine, I can’t even begin to imagine a young Gerrard under the guidance of Klopp. He improves everyone who is willing to put in the work and Gerrard was obsessed with practice/training. Gerrard would 100% have been an even better player under Klopp. I’m sure of it and the idea is frightening. I sometimes wonder what KDB would be like in this team too. They’d never sell him to us of course but one can dream, right?

12th January 2020 at 6:22 pm #59207Drinkwater should have stayed at Leicester. Shame about his injuries but another one thinking at one point the grass would be greener.

12th January 2020 at 6:23 pm #59208Liverpool obviously the better team this year, but City do still have a bit more panache in terms of scoring goals.

12th January 2020 at 6:34 pm #59219Kun Augerro…what can you say about this guy 11 consistent years of scoring in th PL You can keep your Kane, Sallah, Mane etc etc Augerro is better than them all. Most hat tricks most goals now for overseas player and chasing down Lampard and Rooney above all…a very loyal club player time has proved it He will be overlooked for awards yet again.

12th January 2020 at 6:37 pm #59224Adlab…we could have done without the injuries Adlab but the reason we have not so well has been self inflicted. The squad should have performed better than it has, it is not about 1/2 players anymore

12th January 2020 at 6:41 pm #59228Brian.
Without Sane and Laporte all season and injuries galore to Stones made a huge difference.
Never mind at least Liverpool are a proper team playing good football. Next season!_____________________________
