I am also more worried about the Wolves match. I could see us drawing against Utd if we aren’t at our best but Wolves could beat us in the following away game, if we don’t play well enough. I’m not saying that it’s impossible that Utd will beat us at Anfield but I just can’t see it.
The possibility though of getting only 1 point from 6 is not a great one and I feel the calls of “Oh come on guys the league is over” would hard flip to “you’re bottling it!!” and really, it would only be showing up those people, if they can be that fickle after just 2 matches from a remaining 17.
This is the line though, we’ve just got to get over this I think. Playing against city is an added complication, we’d be best to consider that game a draw until it happens. It’ll be an incredibly difficult match to win and if it still matters by the time it comes around, a draw would be a great result.
City have Palace at home and Sheffield Utd away, both before our next 2 fixtures. I had a notion they had 2 easy games but Sheffield could get a result there.

14th January 2020 at 8:50 am #60510if you got one point out of the next 6 you WILL STILL WIN THE TITLE!!….IMHO
tho i could see you pool lads having some brown trousers instead of the current clean ones!
know youve been here before but this season and this pool side are a different beast to the past

14th January 2020 at 9:08 am #60514AnonymousI agree that this side are a different, more hardened Liverpool. Things changed after we won the CL. If we had lost that, it’d be unbearable the amount of “Sure Klopp has Liverpool playing well but they can’t win anything”. The belief is there in the players, in the fans and in the opposition, even. Most teams know we’re going to beat them before a ball is kicked but City could win the rest of their matches. They are capable of it.
If we do come away with only 1 from the next 6, ya , we’re still favourites but if City win both of theirs, the seed of doubt is sewn and it’d be game on then.
I would be proper nervous if this situation were to come about. I think we’ll likely win at least 1 and maybe both, I’m just saying, they are 2 extremely tough games.

14th January 2020 at 9:47 am #60517Bizarre, but unsurprising stat: Man Utd are unbeaten vs all the sides above them so far this season. Will that change on Sunday?
Not that I expect this to be the case at the end of the season, but I wonder what is the lowest any team (in any league) has finished while remaining unbeaten against the teams above it. Pretty remarkable set of results for United. pic.twitter.com/gTmM1rhGmu

14th January 2020 at 11:50 am #60522AnonymousYa lads, if we can just win the PL once, I’m a happy man. Obviously we want to all one day have that sweet double or European treble and FA Cup etc but… winning a major trophy that we’ve collapsed on a few times would be a huge relief and as ye say, maybe you lads can catch back up in the summer. No team stay up here for long.

14th January 2020 at 1:45 pm #60528Liverpool have lost one PL game of their last 59 PL games.
For City to win it this season Liverpool would have to lose 5 games of their next 17 and City to win all of their remaining games it’s never won until it’s won but if Liverpool don’t win it this season I’ll run around Stamford Bridge totally starkers.?
Personally I would prefer to see a nip and tuck title race like last season,it wasn’t good imo for the PL when City ran away with the PL two seasons ago as I said at that time and it’s not good for the PL for Liverpool to be doing so now.
Hopefully we will see a much closer title race next season.
I’m sure City will be more competitive next season but it will probably take the rest of the chasing pack a bit longer to be competing for the title but as we’ve seen with Liverpool a few great signings can turn a good team challenging for a CL place into triple Champions so you never know that’s the beauty of football.

14th January 2020 at 2:11 pm #60535Brian-The game @ Etihad should have been over in the 1st half, with United missing so many decent chances. And yes,Pogba is our best player in terms of creating chances,Rashford scores goals. If a player wants to leave, thats a completely different matter all together,no player is bigger than a club, and certainly no player will ever be bigger than MANCHESTER UNITED! We beat City in the league,Qarabao Cup is a 3rd rate comps, and we were missing Pogba & MCT,our 2 best midfielders.

14th January 2020 at 3:10 pm #60542Wait till next year!! 🙂
Not that it matters a toss when your team are playing like a herd drunk 3-legged donkeys managed the the footballing Anti-Christ. (Thought I’d say it first!)

14th January 2020 at 3:11 pm #60543I’m not sure it matters either way Mav there’s no trophy for highest turnover ?,but £7m is nothing and having CL football and not having CL football makes a lot of difference and Spurs went all the way to the CL Final too which won’t be a regular occurrence.

14th January 2020 at 4:04 pm #60553Mac-You have absolutely nothing to fear abou Utd right now,yes of course we can beat any team home or away, like we did it with City in the league and Chelsea in the Cup,but only if we have full team available. We have currently our 2 best midfielders missing,in Pogba & MCT,Maguire,Rashford & Martial are carrying injuries, and you are @ home.We lost to Arse a cple of weeks ago,and we lost comfortably,so against Liverpool its going to be a case of how many will we concede.
