Good win for Arsenal, great comeback by Bournemouth, last minute winner for Leicester and Wolves hold City. Can only see a comfortable win for Liverpool.

25th August 2018 at 8:26 pm #25783Liverpool weren’t at it today and Brighton could have sneaked a draw but crucially they still won.

25th August 2018 at 8:46 pm #25784No I expected them to win that one comfortably Nine. Still, they did enough. City and Liverpool’s inability to get the big wins today offers some glimmer of hope for the neutral hoping for a slightly more competitive tile race than last season

25th August 2018 at 10:10 pm #25789Keita should prove to be a pivotal player for Liverpool but he’s not quite settled into the club yet and I do think we lack that player with a bit of arrogance who can grab a game by the scruff of the neck when a game is drifting (or we’re stuck in front of a well drilled side). There were still some elements to our play today from previous seasons where we almost started reverting to taking pot shots to find a way through. Thought Shaqiri would have been the better substitute today than Sturridge as most of our play was in front of Brighton and we needed more of a runner to drive at them.

26th August 2018 at 8:21 pm #25797Rafa is the master of 10 men behind the ball. Good win for Chelsea though given everything and Chelsea’s CL ambitions.

27th August 2018 at 7:38 am #25801Didn’t see the game, but it sounds like Chelsea, despite having all the possession, were a little bit lucky with both goals. At least City dropped some unexpected points.
Roll on tonight, having seen any footy for ages!!

27th August 2018 at 8:21 am #25803Here’s hoping for a United win. I’m not overly optimistic though. I think it’ll be a pretty boring game as usual when United is involved. Either 0-0, 1-1 or a 1-0 win for either team.
The Bus vs. Cock on Ball. Sounds more entertaining than it’ll be.

27th August 2018 at 8:28 am #25804I’ve been drunk in that pub… “The Cock on The Bull”…
Who knows about tonight? All I know is anything dodgy that get’s called at Old Trafford tends to favor the Norffern lads…
Going for a 3-1 Spuds… π

27th August 2018 at 12:07 pm #25810Ed,Liverpool should have won by more but all take a 1-0 win againest anyone. Our 1st in over a year. Another clean sheet and 3 points do very happy with our start
Iβve absolutely no doubt utd will win tonight. Spurs record is dreadful at ot and spurs just never perform there.
1 or 2 nil to utd. Jose results improved last year againest the bigger sides
Utd have to bounce back
And Iβve no doubt they will win_____________________________

27th August 2018 at 1:15 pm #25811I didn’t think Liverpool were on their game offensively on Saturday Brighton gifted them a goal which was beautifully put away by Salah but Brighton could have sneaked a point at the end.
Neither the Palace or the Brighton performances were great but Liverpool took all 6 points and that’s all that matters.
The signings of Van Dijk and Alisson have significantly strengthened Liverpool defensively and they have one of the best if not the best front three’s in the PL.
They still lack creativity in midfield though and that together with squad strength is what might cost them in terms of title aspirations.

27th August 2018 at 1:45 pm #25812Looking forward to the game tonight.
Like Sean I think United might well bounce back.
I guess the best results from a Chelsea perspective and the race for a CL place would be a Spurs win or a draw, just looking forward to a great game for the neutrals.

27th August 2018 at 4:25 pm #25816Well, let’s look at the main points:
– Spurs under Poch have an awful record away to the other top 6.
– Spurs historically are poor at OT
– Utd are expected to bounce back after a defeat in the last game.
Everything points to a Utd win so get your money on Spurs! Far too much wrong at Utd at the moment to beat a side like Spurs.

27th August 2018 at 4:37 pm #25817Are we poor?
Us Spud-lover would say we’re cursed… don’t matter what we do, something always buggers us (and sometimes it’s us like last year with Dier’s brainfart!)… or the Walker og the year before… or Mendes… or the Nani “Handball”… or the Teddy goal that wasn’t a goal because Brucie wasn’t “ready”… π

27th August 2018 at 4:57 pm #25819Compared to how well Spurs have played against others, it’s a while since I’ve seen them play as well as they can at OT. Under Poch, especially, Spurs just seem to always struggle away to the top 6 for some reason. But I expect that to change tonight!

27th August 2018 at 5:02 pm #25820Going to sound stupid, but we never seem to get “beaten” at your gaff, just find a way to lose somehow. Never expect to get anything other than an ulcer from this fixture!!

27th August 2018 at 5:17 pm #25821I think itβs easy game to predict
Utd will score one goal from the 2/3 chances they create and win1-0
I think it be a carbon copy of last season
