Ed, also, been having this niggling thought and your point about the standard of the league being not as good I’m inclined to agree. Perhaps I’m doing a disservice to the Teams that deserve the credit like the Mid-table ones but I’m thinking what was up with us today to lose to Fulham the way we did.
I didn’t expect Arsenal also to drop points the way they did, nor Chelsea. City really have taken a dive this season, so from that point of view, the quality of the Top Teams forming the league haven’t been to the standards we’ve seen previously.

6th April 2025 at 7:54 pm #218973My boys playing like pants doesn’t help, but it seems every game I watch I just can’t get excited by… none of them really have an effect on my season (nothing in the Prem really matters)…maybe I’m just picking the wrong ones… π …. the title is done, the relegation is done, one by one the race for Top5 is getting shorter and shorter as teams start to drop off, and to be honest, I couldn’t really give a toss who does qualify… be nice if Forest did, but I’m not going to cry about it if they don’t either…

6th April 2025 at 8:43 pm #218975I’ve been able to enjoy and appreciate other teams and have to obviously be grateful in abundance if anything that Liverpool are near enough the line to complete their dream. I guess taking this from another angle in between the international breaks, the vibe for us hasn’t been incredibly great. Even the Everton win wasn’t that brilliant with the shenanigans of Refereeing etc. Today was just a tale of 2 halves and our complacency came out of the closet.
Just not seeing those performances, scorelines and results delivered largely. Maybe we have been spoiled and the engine out of some players has been taken out and they’re ready for the Beach.
Hopefully, different vibes next weekend and the weekend after, and the weekend after that π

6th April 2025 at 8:49 pm #218976Yeah itβs just been a weird season Nil. Oddly, I donβt actually think this is even one of your better seasons. Liverpool havenβt had to be that good to win the league and thatβs not a great sign for the league. Iβm sure itβs just a blip and, for Liverpool, it wonβt matter one bit. All that will be remembered is that you won the league.

6th April 2025 at 10:17 pm #218977I was kinda chuckling away (just to soften the blow! :-D) from the mistake Curtis Jones made that led to Fulham’s equalizer. Mindboggling to say the least. Never mind the point of Professionals, but even if you’ve there is a positional change to adjust to, surely the very basics would come second-nature like controlling the ball and anticipating the risk of danger.
Mickey-Mouse and Pluto defending. Feel for Kelleher and he’s not to blame at all. These players need to take their hands out of their pockets and remind themselves of the attitude that they need to adopt even when they are 11 points clear.

7th April 2025 at 10:51 am #218979Weird week of results as if it was the finale and they were heading for the Beach. Still 7 games. I’m thinking too an extra place in Europe so a financial incentive if anything to strive and fight for points.
There’s a general consensus of teams not delivering as you would expect because of players’ performances dropping off.
Maybe it’s the playing style and the ‘kilometres’ covered that leaves empty tanks as they reach 30/31 games. Was it because of the International Breaks?
Just weird how rapid the quality of teams as we would believe them to be haven’t lived up their own standards.

Juric not surprisingly leaves Southampton. Worse points tally I think since Derby when they were in the Top flight.

7th April 2025 at 12:16 pm #218984Still can’t get over the bizarre fact that my Spuds are still the 2nd highest scorers in the League…

7th April 2025 at 12:59 pm #218985It’s weird or it certainly feels weird and more weird Chucks lol. I think at times, we’re like a mid-table table. Maybe I need to replay our season from August. It’s hard to believe our second league defeat came after 27 matches and we lost to Forest on our 4th game, 14th September!
Yes, your boys have conceded 45 goals in the process. The Top 3 in the Championship currently sit on 84, 83, 82 respectively. That’s how a Title Race really should look like. Leeds though look like they’re going to squander auto promotion.
Another talking point is that our 3 teams sat in the bottom really are poor standard and effectively have been default to occupy those places.
A Team in Man United sit on 38 points. I don’t think even in the 80s, they were this bad!

7th April 2025 at 9:55 pm #218986Really can’t see Van Nistelrooy next season leading the Foxes. Lol makes me wonder if he’ll raise his game against us!
