Ya a clear penalty. Not a convincing display from Liverpool. It was a good chance for us to improve our GD deficit over City but we ended up almost not winning. So to come away with 3 points is really the important thing, as a draw would have seen the title all but over I think. The win puts pressure on City to get a result when they play in 2 weeks time. Not a huge amount and I’ve no doubt they’ll answer with a win of their own but you can only win 3 points at a time.

17th March 2019 at 4:17 pm #36067Milner I think is better suited to come off the bench. Still wondering why Klopp doesn’t play Shaqs???
Lallana once again first class for us. He himself is better suited starting.
Looks like Klopp has got this part right, but we need to be more ruthless when trying to add to the lead and avoid a scenario like we did.

17th March 2019 at 4:20 pm #36068Incidentally, our first league win on the road since Brighton. That’s how we let City back in by dropping all those points on our travels.

17th March 2019 at 6:15 pm #36069I know we’re all supposed to be madly in love with Liverpool at the moment, but I’m quite liking that other team from their neighbourhood at the moment… 🙂

17th March 2019 at 6:20 pm #36070Interesting FA Cup Semi-Final draw as Man City are paired with Brighton and Watford face Wolves.
City’s tie is to be played on the 6th April so their home game versus Cardiff is postponed as a result of this tie.
This significantly means Liverpool would have played 2 extra games with our game played at Southampton on Friday Night. I’m wondering by then how the table will shape up and where the Cardiff game will be fitted in an already packed schedule.

17th March 2019 at 6:23 pm #36071We play Chelsea at Anfield next month so some confidence filled, but Salah needs to rediscover his goal-scoring touch.

17th March 2019 at 6:29 pm #36072A microcosm of Chelsea’s season totally dominate don’t score and then give two sloppy goals away. A terrible second half performance. 5 points dropped in two games and any chance of claiming a top 4 place is rapidly diminishing without Chelsea start to get their act together!

17th March 2019 at 6:32 pm #36074I remember when we had games in hand before, won them and the league.
It will go to the wire I think!_____________________________

17th March 2019 at 6:33 pm #36075….well done to Everton though they were on the ropes in the first half but came out in the second half and turned the game around.

17th March 2019 at 6:58 pm #36077Adlab, absolutely right as 2014 proved it. You won it by 2 points.
Regarding the rearranged Premier League home game against Cardiff, that’s likely to be played midweek, either 30th April or 1st May. That is before they meet Leicester at home on Saturday.
Man City won’t be playing at the Ethiad now for an entire month. And when they do, they’ll be facing Tottenham in succession on the back of their Quarter Final Champions League clash.
One more International Break, then it’s definitely all hands to the pump as every game is going to matter.

17th March 2019 at 8:31 pm #36082Sarri-out brigade out again. I think the club are in a dilemma. Whilst Sarri isn’t getting the best out of the team, the problem is there is a real dearth of top managers available at the moment. I don’t even think Uncle Guus is an option any more. So I think that’s why they’ve sat on the fence with regard to them making a decision. And should they fail to make top 4 this season, and with a transfer ban upheld over summer, that significantly puts top 4 at risk again next season. Critical few months ahead for the club. (And not quite sure they’ve got it in them to win the EL).

17th March 2019 at 8:50 pm #36086Mikus, pointless even thinking about making a change of Manager and bringing in an interim Manager with 8 games to go and I think that decision has probably already been taken by the Club.
I’m preety sure Sarri will go until the end of the season now and whatever happens between now and the end of the season things will go from there.
If the transfer ban sticks and seemingly the Club are going to appeal their right to have their punishment held in abeyance while their appeal to FIFA is heard as per all of the Spanish Club’s previously but if that fails there are a number of loan players that can come back and be added to the squad and have an impact and a combination of them and what we have would be capable of putting in a challenge for the top 4 under Sarri or under a different Manager imo but we’ll see lots of water to flow under the bridge between now and then.

18th March 2019 at 10:17 am #36090Yesterday was all about winning for us.
End of a very tough week and we weren’t at our best but just delighted we won
We stepped it up when Fulham scored.
Massive massive win
