Misfortune in circumstance, bad decision in fairness. I get it. It truly sucks.
There’s optimism in direction in how other Sports deal with it. Football all in all has to truly latch on and endeavour to eradicate errors that effectively determine results of a Football Match.

16th March 2019 at 10:35 pm #36011Moos, you and I know deep down that Manchester City did not score 3 fair goals.
Your thoughts, not mine.

16th March 2019 at 11:22 pm #36012To be fair to City they dominated the game as the stats below confirm and the only thing that was fortunate for them was the offside goal. Yes they were awarded a penalty but plenty of teams have benefited from penalties in similar circumstances. VAR may of may not have ruled the penalty out we will never know because it wasn’t there.
That’s not City’s fault though it’s the FA’s fault that VAR was at Wolves and not at Swansea.
It should be in use everywhere in the same competition or nowhere.

17th March 2019 at 12:58 am #36016AnonymousCongrats tot he City boys and commiserations to the Utd lads. I’m not surprised by either result if I’m honest. there is the worry that this could be the honeymoon period ending for Utd. This is why you don’t hand the manager a contract before you have to. How he manages this will tell you lads whether or not he’s able to take your club forward.
Just to be clear, the above is said in peace.

17th March 2019 at 5:10 am #36017AnonymousOn my recording when the ball left Silvas feet Augero was only just onside, the problem with the TV video replays they don’t freeze the play at the exact right moment. It’s often they show the freeze replay a split second before or after the ball actually leaves the crossers boot. City were at that stage drawing would have in any event gone on to win it.

17th March 2019 at 6:46 am #36022Couldn’t agree more Mak. The fact the Utd board haven’t given in to temptation and popular demand and given Ole the job already is the best decision they’ve made for a long time. There was absolutely nothing to be gained from giving him the role before the end of the season and I’m delighted they recognised that. I wouldn’t write him off just yet on the back of yesterday’s result but it will certainly give them something to think about.
It’s also worth pointing out that there isn’t any stand out candidate who could come in instead. I’d still opt for Allegri, who is rumoured to be leaving Juventus in the summer, but I’m not 100% convinced he’s the right man either. I think he’s the best of the rumoured shortlist, though.

17th March 2019 at 6:46 am #36020VAR did its job with the red card and got the correct decision.
Most decions will end up correct but we will always debate “was it an inch offside” . And Moos is right it depends exactly when you freeze it._____________________________

17th March 2019 at 6:55 am #36025In some ways, I’m glad we’ve had this dip in form now because it’s only after a bad spell when you discover how good a manager actually is. If this is the start of a downward spiral that sees us ending the season really poorly then we know he’s not the man for the job. If, however, he recovers strongly from this and finishes strongly then we know he has that in his locker, too, and could be worth giving a full season to.

17th March 2019 at 7:03 am #36026Apologies Adlab, I accidentally clicked to add a moderation flag to your posts which means your posts needed approval every time you post but I took it away as soon as I noticed. If that’s what you meant by “why?”. It’s a button which sits right by everyone’s poster name, together with a “block” button. I’ve accidentally blocked a few people recently! Well either Nine or me, anyway.

17th March 2019 at 7:50 am #36028Ed, re Adlab I don’t think I was responsible for the error I wasn’t on the site for long last night and only put up a couple of posts late on and didn’t go near any posts from Adlab. Needless to say if it was me I would be mortified as I would never enact either but I really don’t think it was me. Cheers 999

17th March 2019 at 8:09 am #36030No probs. Thought it must be a post match reaction!
Do you think the result will have any effect on OGS appointment or is it too early?

17th March 2019 at 8:09 am #36031It was no we’re near a pen. He got a very good touch on the back.
It was offside. City are getting the decisions at the big moments of Games and at the right time of the season

17th March 2019 at 8:17 am #36032Ed, I’d give him the job.
He knows utd. Look at the little things he’s done. He sits were Ferguson did in the dig out. He knows how to deal with the media. He’s done a great job so far but it’s not his team. Give him time to build
I wouldn’t take Poch. I agree with you totally about Poch.
Alegeri is the only one who is out there id take

17th March 2019 at 8:58 am #36034Seem to remember Southampton replacing Nigel Adkins with Poch even though Adkins was doing a very good job. And it turned out that was a bold but good decision (that’s not to say Poch is necessarily right for Man Utd now). At the moment there’s a lot of emotion that is trying to dictate that Solskjaer should be permanent boss. As Ed and others have said, the board have been right to try and see through that.

17th March 2019 at 9:28 am #36035NB….you are very predictable. let me say City will have good luck and bad luck, that is fact and is no different to any other team be it Liverpool, Utd Chelsea etc, etc as Ed stated “it is part of the game” Get on with it…It is a bit like players arguing with Refs, he is not going to change his mind or can a result be reversed. I have enjoyed your post but they are becoming a little like jumping on a band wagon when a glimmer of question pops up and usualy City’s fault and NO, I am not a blinkered view on City.If that was Liverpools performance at Swansea yesterday you would have held it as a triumph and fully deserved

17th March 2019 at 9:41 am #36036That’s it Sean. He does need time if he’s to be judged properly. He’s done a lot of good things so far which shouldn’t be undone by a couple of so-so performances. Still, there’s plenty of time till the end of the season and it’s completely pointless to rule him in or out of the job before then, whatever happens.
Yeah, safe to say, I hope we stay away from Poch!

17th March 2019 at 9:52 am #36037I hope Utd dont appoint Ole. Why? Because he’s a nice likeable guy and that confuses me when I think of Utd. Why oh why did you have to fire Jose? Match made in heaven! ?
Heard that VAR was missing from Swansea because it’s only at premier league grounds in the FA cup. I guess one argument is that it should be universal for all teams in the same competition but the flip side is can you really implement it in round one when tier 5 and 6 are playing?

17th March 2019 at 9:58 am #36038Been busy so just catching up. Yes no doubt city are getting all the calls lately, I don’t think anyone can deny that, however it wasn’t so long ago Mo went through a phase of hitting the deck when a defender breathed on him & it no doubt helped us get a coupe of points so as a LFC fan we cannot complain. I am with chucks & absolutely despise the cheats, they are the biggest blight on the game IMO.
BB, I find it pretty much impossible to fathom a city fan complaining about depth, it beggars belief for me so the only thing I’ll say on this ( I’ve done it to death this season) is compare your bench players to other clubs mate & you’ll see you have no complaint to make. Seriously Delph, Mahrez, Jesus & Sane, yep your struggling for depth haha._____________________________
