16th March 2019 at 7:19 pm #35953City reaching the semis after the amount of luck they had today as well as having faced only Rotherham, Burnley, Newport and Swansea suggests to me their name is well and truly on the cup this year!

16th March 2019 at 7:24 pm #35955The question is, would you rather have wrong decisions go for you sometimes and against you others or VAR?
For me I’d sooner not have VAR, but if we have to have it it needs to be competition specific so all matches are played on a level playing field….Pagan

16th March 2019 at 7:28 pm #35957Irrespective of City’s plethora in depth of squad and being one of the World’s current Best teams, there are opposition teams out there unnerved and not seeing any deterrent.
Huge Credit to Swansea tonight for giving it a real go. The longer the clock runs down the more frenetic this type of game can get.
A lot of people have praised City recently and to a degree, rightly so, but I could go as far back as Huddersfield away in believing they haven’t been ultra convincing. They are beatable.

16th March 2019 at 7:30 pm #35959Ed…you have divers as well, in fact most teams do This is all about City again as if no other team has any luck at all. This was a good Cup tie everybody thought we should roll in 6/7 goals, When Swansea scored 2 goals I am sure everybody was pleased, they played well and we had a few very poor performances. I would not have complained if Swansea had won despite having backs to the wall throughout the game….it was a Cup tie and anything can happen. Sterling was a soft penalty these are given throughout the season and they are not always Sterlings!!!

16th March 2019 at 7:33 pm #35960Mr Pagan, my good friend,
In fairness to Andrew Mariner, to make a call that he had to in real time, ala Sterling needs the help of Video Evidence.
It’s not a cue for me to big up VAR for the sake of it, it’s a matter of allowing into the game, a second opinion to aid correct decision making.
Cheers

16th March 2019 at 7:36 pm #35961I have to add from an LFC POV, I’d be ultra delighted at the possibility of a Manchester derby meet-up in the Cup. Like Tottenham, they have to play Man City in the league which could make things interesting and a likelihood of speedbumps.

16th March 2019 at 7:38 pm #35962Brian, I’ve never suggested otherwise. We have some terrible divers. Young is amongst the worst in the league alongside Sterling, Alli and Kane etc. I admitted we were fortunate with the penalty decision against PSG. It wasn’t a penalty IMO, regardless of what Uefa said. But this isn’t about Utd. This is about City. Unfortunately, when you’re at the top of the tree, any luck you get will be massively magnified and it’s City’s turn tonight. That’s football.

16th March 2019 at 7:40 pm #35963Sean…I still think 4 titles is beyond them, our substitutes to day proove a point for me, they do not cover adequetly the loss of a first choice player, Delph had a nightmare, Mahrez just cannot finf his confidence and suffers because of his lack of variety in his play. Walker does not inspire me with confidence. Jesus and Sane may well do better next season but they still lack consistency in there play to be a serious No 1 in there spot. They are young though that is why I say next season should be better for them I am sure Pep will strenghten the squad for next season and we will see some departures

16th March 2019 at 7:42 pm #35964City do what Champions do and come back and win the game.
I haven’t seen the penalty as I was out but Ian Holloway on 5 Live firstly said it wasn’t a pen and then said he’d have to eat his tweed cap because he thought it was on review? I need to watch it.
The Quadruple is impossible right? Or is it??

16th March 2019 at 7:44 pm #35966ED…of course it is “thats football” but I still do not understand why it should be so tribal these days.Fans are too quick to judge, does not matter if you are top or bottom of the tree…it happens

16th March 2019 at 7:46 pm #35967Agree with my leaned friend Pagan VAR matches can’t be on and off for the same competition it it’s going to be used it has to apply to all teams in every game in whatever competition.

16th March 2019 at 7:47 pm #35968Nine…the Quadriple will not happen, I would be happy with a double…keeps the consistency going but next season I would want further improvement
