Was going to add to Salvatore Schillaci – the tournament player in Italy 90 – he came up trumps as a Sub practically every game 😀

3rd March 2019 at 8:23 pm #34877Adlab,
that’s just a plethora of options mate from those names mentioned. World Class in my opinion. You’re getting over the line of late. Something we ourselves are failing to do of late.
It helps as you’ve won trophies and are. That I’m sure helps in a very big way as far as mindset goes.
Best Footballing squad overall for me.

3rd March 2019 at 8:49 pm #34879Definitely the worse thing to happen is to get knocked out of the Champions League. I want us to go right the way to the Final – love it.

3rd March 2019 at 8:51 pm #34880AnonymousNB, It’s not at all a bit of a co-incidence that Aussie has said what he has said. This has been his stance all season. I remember him saying just this many times. I myself warned that we needed to score more goals and that the defence had been carrying us.
“Do you have something positive to add mate or just something constructive?”
You said that you didn’t want to offend him but this is just fucking offensive. Honestly man, I don’t want to have another situation with you where you get all bent out of shape because people aren’t super chipper and optimistic about all things Liverpool. This is clearly you starting that shit and I don’t want to hear it.
Oz has been consistent to a fault. I don’t completely agree with him but I respect him enough to not post rubbish like that without cause.

3rd March 2019 at 8:53 pm #34881NB…..I am not counting on anything, it is going to be close and the 1 pt could change a few times yet. Watford and Burnley could shock us both!!!!!

3rd March 2019 at 9:04 pm #34882Mak, it’s a point and a perfectly valid one.
Why be pessimistic or accentuate the point of pessimism? I enjoy and love the sport, a lifetime and have been through the good, bad and ugly, make no mistake.
I’m not really in acceptance of being made to feel inferior or reach to that point in placing people on a pedestal. It’s never a ‘character assassination’. It’s the comments I find myself reading consistently from that Poster.
And please, I’d much rather refrain from entering any argument. I’m perfectly happy now in where we are and I’m now looking positively what we can do collectively to improve our situation.

3rd March 2019 at 9:10 pm #34883Brian, haha 🙂
Onto my point in every other team fighting for something.
No fixture what ever appears on paper is straight-forward.
A test of Skill, Endurance, and Mentality 🙂

3rd March 2019 at 9:14 pm #34884My suggestion to fellow Pool fans; don’t feel upset, angry or bitter about today; accept it for what it is and look forward, positively.
Loads to look forward too, and looking forward to Bayern Munich away.

3rd March 2019 at 11:13 pm #34885Nil are you serious, I’m only making these comments when the chips are down? I said this when we were 9 points ahead not even half way through the season & people were talking about titles. I’m no rocket scientist but I did say way back then the season is a long one & I don’t think we have the depth to last in comparison to c$ty, Hardly saying it because the chips are down.
We’ve got posts from c$ty fans that have gone from saying the ball is in our court to pointing out where we are weak compared to them, I reckon they know deep down they’ll win it. It’s no great shock they’ve hit the front with under 10 games to go, I’m pretty sure most predicted c$ty would win so I’m not saying I told you so, it is what it is & it’s expected. I’ll get proved right but certainly won’t be bragging about it, as I said most expected this at the start of the season. Sadly the EPL is the most predictable of all the leagues, basically the richest club wins it. Not my fault, just how it is._____________________________

3rd March 2019 at 11:15 pm #34886Gday Mak, it’s all good mate, if he or anyone else wants to take their frustrations out on me when c$ty win it I really couldn’t care less. Sometimes reality hurts.

3rd March 2019 at 11:21 pm #34887Brian have a look at your players coming in to replace your injured players though mate and compare them to anyone else’s. This is why I’ve said c$ty will win it all along.
Nine I’m only going off what I’m reading mate, I’ve stopped getting up early to watch as it’s just too hard here in Oz, esp if we aren’t playing well. If we went back to playing like last season I’d be more inclined to watch as it was enjoyable even if we didn’t win but I’ve pretty much lost interest in watching the inevitable c$ty win again._____________________________

3rd March 2019 at 11:34 pm #34889Anonymous“Mak, it’s a point and a perfectly valid one.”
It’s not a valid point, for the reasons already pointed out. Also, even if it were, you’re still essentially saying that someone else’s point of view is wrong because it’s not positive and that they should change that but you’re not offering any argument to do so, just that it shouldn’t be the case. Well, people have different positions for good reasons. I agree with Oz about preferring the rock n roll football of last season. I however am hopeful that a balance can be found. I guess it won’t happen this season though and I’m sorry if you don’t want to hear it but that doesn’t make me want to jump up on a table and sing.
We can get back to digesting our season. It isn’t over but we’ve made it extremely difficult for us and easy for City. When the final whistle blew earlier, it felt like a big moment. I think Oz made a good point about what city fans may feel deep down but are too polite/superstitious to want to speak about. We have our limitations regards first 11 and squad but really, the bar has been set to an almost impossible level for us to achieve. I guess this is what gets to people. We’re doing the best we’ve maybe ever done in the PL… and it might not be good enough.
I’m gonna hope that we can turn it around and that city make a few mistakes but I’m not going to get carried away, as I think we might have blown it.

3rd March 2019 at 11:47 pm #34891I think we’re getting to the point of extreme. Nobody has genuinely alluded to ‘jumping on a table and sing’. That’s just nutty.
Just had a read of Teamtalk incidentally; a couple of good points, to cut/paste:

3rd March 2019 at 11:55 pm #34892AnonymousNil, what’s your point? I watch every minute of football that we play. of course you’re not aiming that at me and are firing another barb at Oz. As he’s said on here many times though, he lives in Australia and to watch a game , he has to get up in the middle of the night. It’s not as easy as it is for us…

You know damn well that I wasn’t being literal, so cut the shit.

4th March 2019 at 1:04 am #34893Oz@11:21pm Oz, all’s good with me mate that was my bad attempt at trying to be a bit light hearted.?
I was a bit surprised to hear Klopp talking about the wind too.
Everton is never an easy place to go to no matter who you are and especially if you’re Liverpool chasing a title and the Everton fans were up for it today too and the atmosphere was electric.
Still to close to call imo although the impetus currently does seem to have swung towards City and to be fair to you you haven’t changed your position on the title race from day one.
However it turns out it will still be a great effort from Liverpool and I know the significant effort you guys have to make in Oz to watch the games we’ve got a number of Aussie fans on the Chelsea site too and it’s tested them lately.?
Still if it all goes t’s up at least you’ve still got the Sun, the sea and the surf you lucky man.
Take care buddie. Cheers 999

4th March 2019 at 6:02 am #34894Err nil I’m NOT getting up to watch, as I said if we were playing like last season I probably would but it’s pretty hard to get up at 2 or 3am & not enjoy watching it.
I think You can’t handle the reality that we will probably have one of if not our best season ever points wise & still won’t win a thing. We simply can’t compete with the money c$ty have & at the end of the day money is all that matters.
All good nine, actually got 5-6ft swell tomorrow about an hour & half from where I live so I’ll be heading there pretty early to enjoy the day. Unlike some I accept the football situation & realise there’s a lot more to worry about._____________________________
