GJ and Beni – been away for a few days and only just read this thread, but I echo evryone else’s sentiments. I lost my Dad 8 years ago, and I still think about him every day. Tough times for you both, but it does get easier

12th February 2019 at 8:39 am #33428Same as what everyone else has so far mentioned – Best Wishes WIB.
I sadly lost a cousin brother overseas at the age of 34 with his health deteriorated. It was purely down to red-white blood cells.
Christmas just gone was quite sombre in our household with our thoughts spared. I received the news whilst Wolves played Liverpool on the 21st. That was it, TV turned off and everything, as none of that mattered.
He was in India, and didn’t really have the opportunity to build any life due to his health. It makes us think how lucky we are with a job, car, a roof over our head, and we should be thankful in what we have.

12th February 2019 at 8:55 am #33430Cyber hugs for you too chum, remember when my dopey cousin passed (I mean that with affection!), a different level of hurt, when a family member close to the same age passes. He wasn’t a well bunny either… gonna have to share this story though!!
My cousin Matt, who was a big Pool fan for reasons we never worked out, also suffered from Spina-Bifida and the poor bastard spent his live in a wheelchair. Anyway, Auntie Pat nagged me and my Uncle (both Spuds) to take him to a game. This was in the mid-eighties btw. Anyhow, my Uncle managed to get 3 tickets for Spuds/Pool at the Lane so we go to pick him up and the soppy tit is all decked out in his Liverpool gear. After a lot of persuasion, we couldn’t get him to change so off we went. Got to the ground, got him in the ground without too many comments (luckily they were all just comments!) and wheeled him to the “special” section. A few looks, nothing major, all in good spirits…
Anyhow, game kicks-off, and then Pool go and score. The silly sod wheels his chair around and starts cheering at the crowd… stunned silence… me and Uncle almost hiding with embarrassment… but thankfully nothing else. Then Spuds equalize, and I’ll never forget, several thousand Spuds all pointing at my cousin and start singing “You’re not singing anymore, ….”
Pretty sure it finished 1-1… and we got out of there alive! Still have one of his Pool shirts… π
