It’ll get better. New Era. Need in my view big bold decisions to get rid of certain individuals, keep the prospering ones and build from there.

14th January 2024 at 9:25 pm #212036Pathetic 2nd half performance. Only bonus was Martinez and Cas are back.

15th January 2024 at 10:58 am #212037The timing of the return of both Martinez and Casemiro couldn’t be better. United have a challenge of difficult fixtures for Feb and March.
Home crowd went flat after Spurs coming back twice. Belief and Confidence is lost.
Style of play and build at times lack cohesion and was more abject, so this is one of the root causes of the regular moans, groans and criticism.
Bruno definitely needs to be taken out. Need experience in there with a more positive attitude that can breed synergy and harness spirit and team play.
This has been on and off throughout this season which has caused tensions.

15th January 2024 at 11:49 am #212039Poor YooUtd… I feel sorry for them, I do sincerly hope they get back to where they belong, hopefully they can spend another billion pounds trying to buy their way back to the top because it just isn’t proper, finishing above them year after year…. etc… etc…
Can we all be honest here? Forget the score, they were largely out performed, and not for the first time this season, by a team that apparently is very, very average, who also happened to be missing 4/5 first teamers…
Maybe it’s time to realize that YooUtd are now distinctively average, years of miss-management (bought upon by nobody but themselves) have cost them and in the most competitive league in Europe, that relegates them to mid-table with the likes of Chelsea and West Ham…
Maybe if they realized this and wound their necks in a bit and actaully understood their “position” in the grand scheme of things, the sooner they might actually find a way out of it.

15th January 2024 at 12:31 pm #212040I dont think anyone is feeling sorry for utd banjo chum. The media certainly are not. They are all over eth while poch and even eddie howe get a free ride. Chelsea should be getting a much tougher time.
Most concerning thing for utd is their lack of a style of play. Spurs had all those players missing yet they played the way they always play. They are great to watch but so so open and will continue to concede goals.

15th January 2024 at 12:54 pm #212041Maybe it’s the red (or blue & white!) mist… all I’m seeing everywhere is how poor YooUtd are, with very few comments from the media about how a half-baked Spuds team gave them the run around, especially in the 2nd half… I don’t think we’re getting the credit I think our performance deserves… it’s all about how the mighty (cough) have fallen…

15th January 2024 at 12:59 pm #212042As for the Jammy Dodgers (and Bone Saw for that matter), read a great article the other day that was suggesting that they’ve been getting a free ride, so to speak, because nobody outside those clubs gives a toss as their no longer considered real clubs anymore… artificially doped etc… wouldn’t say I entirely agree with that sentiment… but I’m having a hard time arguing agasint it… 🙂

Look who’s turned into billy big balls after finishing above Utd in a whopping 2 out of the last 5 seasons! Utd fans know where we’re at Chucky and know we don’t deserve anything without earning it. Spurs fans are some of the biggest moaners around when you don’t win anything despite having last won a trophy 15 years ago.
At least us Utd fans are here to face the music. You’re nowhere to be seen when Spurs lose.

Completely agree Sean. ETH rightly getting hammered for spending so much and delivering so little. Spurs remind me very much of Bielsa at Leeds. Entertaining, indeed, but way too open to threaten for any trophies. ETH completely at fault for that yesterday. We had the pace to hurt them in behind but completely lost control of the match.

15th January 2024 at 3:37 pm #212044Besides Chucky, who called Spurs very, very average? Sounds a bit harsh. They’re decent now. Let’s see where they are in a year’s time once the media hype has died down around Ange. I seem to remember a thread about how Spurs were going to take over the world under Conte… If ETH has proved anything at Utd, it’s to not get carried away by a good first season as it can all soon come crashing down.

15th January 2024 at 5:46 pm #212045Thing about Ange is that he’s clearly a very good man manager and communicator evidenced by how quickly he got his message across when the season started. They have a very defined way of playing and players I think like that as it generally keeps things simple. It also makes the club attractive to prospective players.
And that’s a problem for Utd now. Who wants to join them as they currently are? Trying to get more players out and replacing them with more Ten Hag players is I think for the birds, partly because of his track record of signings and partly because a manager’s job is to galvanise the team they inherit. I just can’t see him in charge next season. Changing a team’s direction has to start with the manager. Of course you need the right backroom staff too, but as I’ve said before, the effect of getting a good manager in tends to then focus minds at the club to get the right other people in too.

15th January 2024 at 6:30 pm #212047Didn’t United have 3-4 players missing yesterday and have they not been without a stable back 4 and midfield all season? Martinez, Casemiro, Shaw, Eriksen, Maguire, Mainoo have been out long term this season.
How quickly does the narrative change when certain other clubs have injuries. How many times has it been mentioned Spurs have been without a number of players pre and post match. The excuses were already out.
Could be worse, we could become Spurs fans and moan about the 2 stonewall penalties United should have got this season for the next decade, but we move on and have got better things to do.

15th January 2024 at 11:29 pm #212054I’ll ‘Disclaimer’ before I begin. I’m honestly happy United have quietly slipped away after ruining me for more than 20 years (of my life)
Get that out of the way to one side; there are similarities of the journey from Top to trying to formulate what was lost. It reminds me of Liverpool to an extent.
I just don’t think though in volumes from the regularity of exposure projected in England, that Gary Neville and Roy Keane on Sky Sports help. They shouldn’t be there as pundits and I vehemently imply the same with Jamie Carragher. Give the punditry to those completely unaffiliated.
The hit and miss of results as far as this term goes is of unique in my eyes. Are we coming or going? Hardest of journeys and the opposition itself of any PL team in essence is immaterial.
Just one regular settled team is needed and a nice run of good results with spirit and something that lift’s their Supporters.

16th January 2024 at 5:40 am #212059Chucky, it’s due to the complexity of City’s situation. They have 115 charges that go back a few years and they are contesting every single one of them. Forest and Everton were relatively simple breeches of the rules and were open and honest with the investigations, City have been uncooperative at any opportunity. Also City have an absolute army of lawyers and a win at any cost mentality so it’s a whole different opposition for the PL.
End of 2025 season is the rumoured outcome of City’s investigation apparently and that is far too long. They will likley add another few astrixed trophies by then.
And it’s PSR not FFP. Different rules, different governing body.
