I can see why poch didn’t start caicedo! He not anywhere near match sharp and gave a sloppy ball away a few minutes before conceding that pen with late challenge 😳

20th August 2023 at 6:34 pm #208602Absolutely unbelievable. Totally outplayed and winning 3-1. I wonder if there was a Brazilian bet on this.

20th August 2023 at 6:34 pm #208603Top 5 surely have to be with Villa; no way Man United or Chelsea.

20th August 2023 at 6:37 pm #208606Will be honest, was perfectly happy with first half but the second half left so much to be desired in the final third.
The front 3 that started did well, but as soon as we made changes, starting with Chukwuemeka injury, we dropped a lot in quality.
Was secretly hoping to just avoid defeat today going in to next couple of home games and hope it doesn’t knock the confidence of the younger lads too much.
Much to be done on training field and poch has the time to do it.
And after all, we won’t play the Europa conference league champions every week will we 😊

20th August 2023 at 6:39 pm #208607Well it’s Luton Town at home this coming Friday, so could be a different complexion with heavy scoring.

20th August 2023 at 6:40 pm #208608No idea how anyone can get carried away or throw in the towel after two games. Judge new players, managers, teams after 15/20 games. I wouldn’t write chelsea or utd off after two games.
Chelsea the much better side today.

20th August 2023 at 6:42 pm #208609Yeah nil Luton next, then AFC Wimbledon in league Cup, then home again to forest.
I will be at all 3 of these games and expect 3 bloody wins! 😆

20th August 2023 at 9:52 pm #208614Adlab, it’s an interesting new dynamic with Kovacic brought in. Pep has a Pedigree and a Wealth of Experience in being able to cut his cloth accordingly. I was just thinking the old Barca and Xavi and Iniesta in the middle of the park.
The Engine was Gundogen central making things happen; underrated. No De Bruyne means the service is going to be relied upon Silva, Foden and Grealish.
Your Engine room defensively is Rodri and now Kovacic.

21st August 2023 at 6:24 am #208615Wasn’t expecting that over Stratford way… did see the last 15 minutes or so, didn’t even realize Wet Spam were a man down… Poncho has got his work cut out for him there…

21st August 2023 at 9:22 am #208616I will be giving poch my full support banjo.
38 league games last year between Potter and lamps and neither knew their best 11.
With exception of James who of course is once again injured, we started both league games so far with same 11, and in all honesty, taking the results out of it, I think I am positive enough with the blueprint he is instilling.
It seems the 2nd half didn’t actually happen as we recall anyway, it was a mass hallucination, like the Mandela effect. Enzo missing the penalty created some kind of rift in the spacetime continuum. Scientists looking in to it.

21st August 2023 at 9:47 am #208618No worries, Neploean, he’ll get it right eventually, but I doubt you’ll be pulling up trees these season, certainly not before Christmas!!
Only saw the last 15 minutes or so, and the Jammy Todgers didn’t look good at all, so all in all, a good day for me! 🙂
Still very happy about our result, and have the added bonus that my CEO has to buy me lunch in about 20 minutes (he’s a YooUtd fan and we have a regular standing “bet”… been starving for years!)
Now, where’s that wine list?

21st August 2023 at 2:05 pm #208619Thought Chelsea were very good in the 1st half. Be interesting to see if poch sticks with that formation lucky.
Mudyrk…what’s your thoughts on him? That formation won’t suit. He’s so fast but it’s just not happening. Caciedo no we’re near fit. I think Chelsea be up there. Points aren’t great but sone very good spells in both games. New team and new manager needs time

21st August 2023 at 2:08 pm #208620Interesting reading Dermot gallaghers thoughts on some of the big decisions over the weekend. I thought mcallister was in trouble as foot raised. I don’t think an appeal will get us anywhere. I don’t think that challenge is worth 3 games but that’s the rules
Interesting comment on the dunk handball v Luton which seems was the wrong decision and now this has really confused people about the handball rule.

21st August 2023 at 2:27 pm #208621Sean, Mudryk so far us the most disappointing of the young signings since Boehly took over. He has plenty of time to improve, as does 95% of our squad, but so far he doesn’t look to have the intelligence and technique to match his pace and dribbling.

21st August 2023 at 3:25 pm #208625The Mac Allister one looks soft, his foot was high – but so was the ball. He didn’t go over the ball, he was just late. Little force as well.
Cannot see how that is a red but the Porro one one Bruno is not, and Porro was higher, later and with far more force.
They have changed VAR a bit this season, but they need to stop tweaking it and just use to to say if the tackles are red cards or if the incidents are handballs, or fouls for penalties etc.

21st August 2023 at 4:04 pm #208629The impact may have in the end been innocuous on the Bournemouth player but for me personally, I don’t like to see a foot raised like that and thereafter ending on a player’s shin. Regardless of shin-guards worn, that and the ankle is a vulnerable part. Maybe a tad harsh of what has resulted but at the same time, we need to be careful in our approach and don’t inflict serious injuries to others.
