Fortunately, I was away over the weekend so missed that rubbish on Saturday. Still, putting aside our struggles, you can’t help but admire Brighton and De Zerbi. What he’s doing with that team despite losing his best players again is just incredible. He’s going to be the top target as soon as any big job comes up. Wouldn’t surprise me if Bayern try to get him with them seemingly not convinced by Tuchel. If Ten Hag or Poch continue to struggle, De Zerbi will 100% be the top target.
I’m with Sean re Ange. Let’s see what they’re doing in a year’s time. Very much still in the honeymoon period with the new manager bounce. Not long ago on this very site, Conte was supposedly taking over the world with Spurs 😁. Even Lampard was exciting Chelsea fans at one point and we all know how that finished.
Really not sure what to say about our lot. Whilst I wasn’t expecting a title challenge (far from it), the start has very much surprised me. The injury/absence list is unfortunate but that’s no excuse for our performances. Brighton were missing players and tore us apart. Our intensity is non existent and I can’t put my finger on what’s gone wrong from last season. Another reason why the whole Ange hysteria is best to not overhype so soon. Things change so quickly in football.

19th September 2023 at 11:09 am #209579The only lot “hyping” up the Spuds are you lot… we’re all enjoying to ride and waiting for the bubble to burst (although bursting next week rather than this week would be preferred!)
Anyway, Buffy, what do you think about Raya for Rambo? I thought Rambo was doing alright (for a Goonie!)… didn’t think that was a part of the team that needed tinkering with…

19th September 2023 at 11:23 am #209580Arteta is prone to these strange decisions to be fair but in this instance I think it may be justified
Competition can’t be understated
He is prone to the odd big error and scares the shit out of me with ball at feet.
Rays seems more comfortable as seen and that suits our style of play
No idea what his other gk attributes may be!
Not dissimilar to United and de gea but more pushing a top keeper perhaps rather than fill out replace… unless he earns it_____________________________

19th September 2023 at 11:26 am #209581Yeh just to make it clear about Postecoglou, as I said I’m not saying Spurs are the real deal yet, more that he looks a much better fit for Spurs compared to recent managers and the players are clearly playing for him, enjoying it and getting results. I’m under no illusion that they’ll still be some bumps along the road, maybe some big ones ahead. But the whole place just looks happier.

19th September 2023 at 12:48 pm #209582The media are certainly over hyping him banjo
Let’s see. As I said, I really like him as I followed him at Celtic. Just think it’s far to early to be over hyping or writing off anyone at the minute.

19th September 2023 at 12:50 pm #209583I watched Brighton v West Ham and West Ham got it spot on but Brighton were just excellent on Saturday. It’s very enjoyable football to watch and it’s brave. One misplaced pass and they are wide open but it didn’t happen.everyone is so comfortable on the ball. Gross ran the show.

19th September 2023 at 12:52 pm #209584Stevo, raya is much better at commanding his box. Everton big physical team and he caught a few crosses. Very good keeper
Really impressed with arsenal Sunday. Rice especially. Everton and palace are two tough away grounds.

19th September 2023 at 2:06 pm #209585Interesting comments about Rambo… personally, I think chopping and change goalies only creates a little bit of hesitation and/or confusion in the rest of the back 4… I think defenders get into the habit, for example, of knowing what crosses the goalie is going to go for when they’ve played with a certain goalie for some time…
Don’t get me wrong, if your goalie is badly out of form or whatever then fair enough… but I didn’t think Rambo, as an example, had been playing that badly at all…

21st September 2023 at 7:09 am #209618Massive game for Utd on Saturday now, looking forward to a weak ref allowing Burnley to kick us off the park and then award cheap free kicks to them.
The team needs to dig deep and show some bottle. Need to be more clinical in front of goal and make better decisions from the wings.

21st September 2023 at 10:10 am #209621I think it’s still early in the season, but in saying that, we’re soon to be approaching October. For some teams, there will be involvement of more than one competition. The League no matter what is bread and butter and a team will be judged upon results and where they are occupying.
Out of Vinny and Ten Hag, Ten Hag is probably the one under a bit of pressure. I can’t see a 4th league defeat inflicted. Something came out of last night from a pride point of view. Something like a 2 or 3-1 to United, but it’s Turf Moor and it’s Saturday Night Live!

22nd September 2023 at 11:42 am #209626Stupid article in the Daily Fail, which I think confirms the mighty Spuds as the most entertaining team in the history of ever… or at least the Premiership… (must be a slow news day along with a slow day in the office!).
Having put the Spurs in Spursy, with holding the record for the most points dropped from winning positions, we also hold the record for most points won from losing positions too… not bad, eh?
Pity that doesn’t count for a trophy… 🙂

22nd September 2023 at 6:33 pm #209627Chucks, that’s the media for you overthinking and lengthening the subject or an observation made that’s unnecessary.
Do they pre-empt a narrative on win-lose-draw? 😈🤓
Yeah, Spursy is becoming a stigma and uncalled, bit like picking on an overweight child at school. These games are no easy ride and all teams aspire in getting off to a good start.
And they’ll be bumps along the way. Painful of course when there’s a defeat. Rather than softening the blow, the media will probably make Spurs feel 10 times worse! 😵

23rd September 2023 at 3:31 pm #209629Happy for Spurs fans, they deserve something sometime so hope it does last, I have many Spurs fans and they all very nice people. As for City vs Forest feels like another routine victory.

23rd September 2023 at 4:17 pm #209631Sent off. What do you expect from a United supporter referee. How many times have U said that this guy should not be refereeing either Manchester club. Perhaps he’ll send Pep off next after all he already had a yellow card.
An absolute twat. He should get back to Old Trafford. Arse.
Sorry he supports Altrincham. Even though all his family support United. Unequivocal well known fact._____________________________

23rd September 2023 at 4:22 pm #209634This ref has always been an ahole, most overated ref in the history of the game. Hateful face too. Kane just scores a hatrick for Munich, 8-0 up, guess it’s not surprising then.

23rd September 2023 at 4:49 pm #209635Totally incompetence. 10 yellow cards and one red. He shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near an EPL game Certainly not either Manchester club.
I despair at the standard of refereeing. Not just this game._____________________________

23rd September 2023 at 5:26 pm #209637Gibbs-White a total cheat. Specifically diving over to get Rodri sent off . But looking at the ugly neanderthal no surprise…and I don’t mean Rodri. Merson happy because he’ll miss the Arsenal game.
Come on Spurs._____________________________
