Difficult game at Portman Road on the opening day
Welcome Ipswich who made our lives uneasy with their man on man marking. They could have also been on the scoresheet themselves.2nd however changed the dynamics, and our patience and change in quality paid off.
Have to delighted with that. Huge 3 points
Klopp missed, but Hello Arne Slot ⚽️⚽️⚽️😁💯🎉🎸0️⃣2️⃣

17th August 2024 at 4:10 pm #215290How does a side commit 18 fouls and only end up with 1 yellow card, that being in the 95th minute, compared to a side who commited 9 fouls and who end up with 3 yellows.
Liverpool commited twice as many fouls than Ipswich in the first half, yet Ipswich ended up with 3 yellows and Liverpool with 0.

17th August 2024 at 5:58 pm #215293Cm, ref was terrible today.really shocking. Did you see the liverpool game were burns stood on back macallaister achillies got a yellow then ten minutes later deliberately handled the ball but ref bottled giving him a 2nd handball? Pundits couldnt believe it as much as me. First terrible decision this season. Ref was awfulfor both sides.

17th August 2024 at 8:26 pm #215294Yeah, I.thought Villa would win at West Ham. Unai is growing in tactic.
I dont personally have complaints re Refereeing at Ipswich.
If anything, it’s been refreshing. Just the exception of Matty Cash that I felt should feel aggrieved, but the handling of VAR a lot swift and concise. Notably too, avoidance in lengthening unnecessary the call leading to unwanted attention and impatience.
They seem to be adopting the habit too of giving actual Match Referee ownership of Real Time decisions made.
Flow in first impressions more smoother⚽️

18th August 2024 at 9:37 am #215296On the late shift today, so will unfortunately miss the games today. I don’t know what to make of Chelsea. The vast amount of ‘stock’ available, you’d think there would be a selection ready-made each week to beat any team.
I’m going to put my neck on the line and go for a win. Pep could be in for a bit of a shock!

18th August 2024 at 12:03 pm #215298Ah, I see Sean. I didn’t know Rodri was still out. That could be interesting.
Lavia, who Chelsea signed was practically out for the whole of last season. Caicedo as a partnership with Enzo could be solid.
My reservation would be at this moment in time for that squad to be able to formulate the best 11, establish themselves and gel. Naturally if that comes together, Chelsea will be a force to be reckoned with.

18th August 2024 at 12:06 pm #215299I thought we played the occasion y’day at Portman Road. Although there is experience, we miss a player like James Milner who knows about grounds outside the Prem.
Ipswich had not been beaten on their patch for many games.
They were in control of challenges and 2nd balls. We failed to gain foothold and the ability to make play. We came to life in the 2nd half and both Trent and Zobo stepped up.
Salah looks a new player.

18th August 2024 at 5:24 pm #215301I think we could have a very good season. Klopp was obviously very charismatic and one of the best at galvanising a team together…but, I do think our play could be too chaotic at times, particularly in the final third. I think under Slot, we’ll be more refined. He also handles the media very well and seems to ooze calmness. I think Klopp could get quite agitated at times and I don’t think that always helped.

18th August 2024 at 9:59 pm #215302Sean-
Not having a pop at Liverpool. I just believe some top teams get the rub of the green against lesser sides for some reason. I watched the 1st half and noticed some Liverpool challenges were going unpunished, whilst Ipswich were getting a yellow card.
City and Arsenal are the worse when it comes to tactical fouling, yet their players never get punished for it. It has been going on for years and I am surprised it has not been clamped down on or spoken about more.

19th August 2024 at 1:33 am #215303Mikus, Agree and that’s a very profound point made. Honestly.
I’d ask: Wasn’t Klopp like this though when he first joined Liverpool?
I do like your point on Refined. That’s so true. Under Slot and what I seen from pre-season, there are evidently one-touch passes and finishes. The move to Jota’s goal.
Klopp brought in the world to us and I love him Forever. When you mention the point of how he dealt with Journalists in recent times compared to his arrival, that quite frankly is consumption of what he has endured. What he speaks and the Headline made out of would have infuriated him time after time. Maybe, he’s not the type of person in nature that can just ‘let it slide’.
We obviously have to wait in time for when Liverpool draw or experience defeat to see how Slot responds.
Jurgen was tired. You could see it in his eyes for many a time. I love and miss him dearly. Saturday and leading up to it from my point of view was difficult in coming to terms with.

19th August 2024 at 9:42 am #215311Talk about having your calk and eat it… 🙂
Only saw the 2nd half yesterday… I think the Jammy Todgers are going to have a long and hard season, the 115 were nowhere near top form and they barely broke sweat…

19th August 2024 at 8:15 pm #215313Todd Boehley clearly doesn’t know what he is doing. How many players in the same positions do you need? Yet reluctant to buy a striker.
