17th October 2019 at 3:45 pm #50224Playing against a Newcastle side who are fighting for their lives, and buoyed by their recent giant killing results against United and Spurs is never an easy task. especially after the international break and with the number of injuries we have on top of what we already had. and they have young players who come through the system and have the passion and drive required. i think i’m worried about this match more than i care about the United vs Liverpool match.
But, i will still very much would like to see a Liverpool win. at this minute United are closer to us than we are closer to Liverpool. so i want United pushed back down the table. but first we need to do our job and overcome a rejuvenated Newcastle.

17th October 2019 at 5:07 pm #50226Chelseaman, tbh United have been playing poorly and it was still a bit of a travesty that Newcastle won, Newcastle only had 32% possession and 2 shots on goal.
I’m hoping they will remember more their last away game v Leicester when they got thumped 5 nil.?
Realistically whatever our injuries if we are to have any chance of a top 4 place we’ve got to be beating teams like Newcastle at home.
But I’m sure it won’t be easy as Newcastle will play 5/4/1 which may well end up as a nine man defence and hope for a break away or a dead ball situation/defensive mistake by Chelsea.
Fingers crossed for the 3 points buddie. Cheers 9’s

17th October 2019 at 5:17 pm #502273ps, I mentioned Saturday because other PL games will be on plus Man City.
I’m trying not to get swamped into discussion or what’s posted on this thread.
It gets a bit too much along with repetition and going round in circles.

18th October 2019 at 8:45 am #50234AnonymousI took a few days away, as was best. Ed, you’re right, I over-did it with how I reacted and acted in a way that isn’t great for a multi-cultural society (that’s kinda what this is, with a variety of clubs). Next time I will stick to ribbing out Adlab a bit, over his incredible bias π
Nine, apologies for calling your character into question in the manner that I did.
I could go into the rights and wrongs of the 2 events but I feel it’s best left. So I’m gonna talk football now.

18th October 2019 at 8:53 am #50237Nice one Mak
Steve, had a quickly read this morning. Not really sure. I’m concerned that he seems determined to be proven right about Ole.
Anyone know what odds I’d get on all the Utds winning this weekend?!
Man Utd vs Liverpool
Everton vs West Ham Utd
Chelsea vs Newcastle Utd
Sheff Utd vs Arsenal_____________________________

18th October 2019 at 8:55 am #50238Basically, Ole’s work has been cut out. nobody is giving them any chance against United. and i think he needs to seize this opportunity to motivate his players. “ok guys, nobody is giving us any slightest if chances. so go out and do whatever you need to do”. Mourinho would have relished in thus under dog tag and fired up his players for the occassion. but inexperience at top level management could cost them.

18th October 2019 at 8:58 am #50239AnonymousThe discussion about what keeper we should go with is an interesting one and I honestly think there’s no wrong answer here. Adrian has been excellent and Alison has had a fair bit of training in the build up to this match. It’s the kind of game that could come down to a keeper error and it seems that both have the occasional one in them.
Personally, I’d go with Alison. His distribution is vastly superior and it’ll be a lift to the team to have him here in this huge match. Could he come back and make a mistake ? That can happen at any time and if he’s genuinely 100% fit and has had plenty of practice sessions in recently then he’s all good.
If Adrian starts though, it’s no big weakness. I’ve never been so pleased with a back-up keeper.
As for the actual game we’ve got to look forward to… Both sets of fans know this derby is dead. I don’t look forward to these matches anymore because each Utd manager after Fergie has either been unable to set his team up to play well, or he has purposefully killed the game. I don’t rate Ole however, he at least knows what Man Utd are all about. So is there some hope that we’ll see a match that isn’t stifled to death? I expect Utd to raise their game as always but the quality of the match is more hopeful than expectant.
There aren’t too many interesting games this weekend. The pick of the bunch (besides ours?) has got to be the Palace V City game. Palace can be problematic for a stumbling City… Or they could get utterly battered. You wouldn’t put your house on City here.
Expect wins for West Ham, Bournemouth, Leicester, Wolves, Watford.. *I joke* Spurs. Big win for Chelsea I’d say.

18th October 2019 at 8:58 am #50240999 is the man for the odds!
its a strange one, i think most thought woodward who is great at getting the corporate side done with deals is also responsible for football matters and is crap at that and has no gootball pedigree, this states the opposite but in a way is more worrying, if the article is true and all football decisons are made by football people and the manager then what the hell has gone on for the last few years?! very odd!anyone seen the SAF match fixng rumours?

18th October 2019 at 9:01 am #50243AnonymousSteveo, I think Woodward was being clever by saying “football decisions are made by our brilliant football people”, as a way to have them accept alllll the “credit”, if you catch my drift.
What are the SAF rumours?

18th October 2019 at 9:13 am #50246AnonymousThat’s quite the claim. I guess we’ll see how it plays out but without evidence I’d be inclined to think that Fergie didn’t need to stoop to fixing matches to pay for watches.

18th October 2019 at 9:35 am #50248I disagree this derby is dead mak
You only have to look st the coverage itβs getting this week
Still the biggest game in English football in my opinion
Really donβt like we are overwhelming favourites as form does go out the window
I think we are intimated by old tarford as our form over the last decade had shown
We need our big players to stand up especially salah
Seems to hide in big ganes away from home
Mane is our main man for the big occasions and I hope he Steps again on Sunday

18th October 2019 at 10:32 am #50249Yeah Stevo I cant believe the fixing allegations either, its not rational. He was for 20 years one of the highest paid managers in the world, the risk of losing everything for 30k bribe? I dont think so.
