Saw the Spurs game and wished I hadn’t bothered , it was embarrassing, Watford the bottom of the table side deserved all 3 points.
The problems at Spurs are far worse than I originally thought, Poch’s selection was inept and was never going to work playing 5 at the back and 2 DMF in front of them.FFS I’ve managed teams on Hackney marshes who were set up better than that. Where was the creativity supposed to come from when all he had was Lucas, Harry K and a woeful Dele as attacking options. When was the last time Disco or Winks scored ? to leave Sonny and Ndombele on the bench was criminal this game was made for them .
I like Poch and have defended him many times but ever since this season started he’s been complaining, transfer window in Europe, players wanting to leave, Jan, Toby and Christian, players who he doesn’t want but won’t leave Aurier, Rose and Wanyama, when is this going to stop ??
Poch has been a bit unlucky only one of his signings had made a league start which is a farce having Β£100m of new talent on the `treatment table considering it’s nearly November .
I’m not buying into this loss of form bollox, a couple of players yes but 11 ,how come the whole back 4 look like it’s the first time they’ve ever met,the players are obviously unhappy which is showing on the pitch as a total who gives a shit attitude.
I can’t see a way out of this unless Levy spends insanely in January which ain’t going to happen or Levy calls Poch into his office and sends him on his way.

21st October 2019 at 1:21 pm #50655Itβs disappointing that Klopp made such a song and dance about Origi. I mean, regardless of whether it was a foul or not, we were way up the field. To blame that losing possession in that area led to us conceding a goal is pretty desperate.
As for Utd getting their tactics right, I donβt doubt they did. But youβd only have to watch our recent away game with Sheffield Utd to see how much we can struggle to break resolute teams down and thus you can quickly attain the blue print in how to get a result against us. Yet Klopp perseveres with that system so stubbornly at times, he even frustrates himself.
I said it last season, and Iβll say it again this season. We need Keita up and running as possible. We are still missing a substantial piece of the jigsaw that only he, it seems, can fill.

21st October 2019 at 2:21 pm #50662“As an example, when Ciaran Clark comes out to meet Hudson-Odoi on the corner of the box, the Newcastle defender has DeAndre Yedlin coming back to cover and two further team-mates lending their support in the middle.
Thereβs no obvious reason for the Irishman to end up on his arse, scrambling to remember how to stand up under his own power, but Hudson-Odoi has that effect on people. Make them feel, if not in complete control, at least in a manageable situation. Then remind them his body works differently to theirs.” Planet Football.

21st October 2019 at 2:30 pm #50663But mikius, do we struggle to break down teams who sit in?
We won 17 out of 18 games, beating a host of teams who sit back.
Itβs not like a few years ago were the likes of hull would beat us by sitting in
Agree about Origi. It was a poor goal to give away but excellent movement from Rashford
Very predictable game and Iβm just glad we didnβt lose. We have a good habit now of late goals and the team always believes in itself
Great point considering how poor we were but utd deserve credit for their pressing etc.

21st October 2019 at 2:49 pm #50665I said more βresoluteβ teams than those who sit back. I just think when opposing teams are determined to choke certain areas of our team be it the full backs or our front 3, they basically stifle us because we offer little down the middle. And we end up like we did vs Sheff Utd or yesterday just wafting balls up top and hoping for the best. With City itβs harder to stifle them because they are also so strong down the middle. In my mind City would have won that game yesterday (and quite convincingly at that).

Kudos to Klopp changing it when he needed to.
I just wish Lallana and Ox are used more often.?β½οΈ?

21st October 2019 at 8:11 pm #50695Just been reading the comments.
Watched quite a lot of the game again and you know Utd were not that bad. They just seem to fail with the final ball. But they do need an experienced striker. Rashford is gΓ²od but not good enough on his own. Also their build up is too slow. Too much wingers/wing backs cutting in rather than beating their man down the outside. There is some hope there but maybe they need a different voice in the dressing room.Liverpool not as good as usual. Back four good as always. Attack always looks dangerous, particulary Mane but the midfield….something missing. Cant put my finger on it. Liverpool lads will know better but is Henderson good enough? Which of Liverpools midfield would get into City’s team?
Imagine a combined team!!!

21st October 2019 at 8:36 pm #50701Adlab, Which of Liverpools midfield would get into Cityβs team? Good question. Equally who of City’s back 5 would get into Liverpool’s team.

21st October 2019 at 8:58 pm #50702Arsenal as suspect defensively to crosses and corners as Chelsea.?
Although to be fair Chelsea do seem to have improved a tad over the last couple of games in that area.
Good call from Mike Dean on the penalty claim.

21st October 2019 at 9:29 pm #50707They need two goals without reply to replace us in top 4 nine, and to be fair to Emery Lacazette on for Xhaka is exactly the type of change that would be required to do that in last 20 mins.
Fingers crossed they dont tho π
