21st October 2019 at 10:07 am #50624Absolutely Nine! Although, I won’t be watching it, sadly. There’s a 6 pointer relegation battle on the other channel at the same time which will be on my box ?

21st October 2019 at 10:17 am #50626Ed, It just seems to me there’s brag about ‘stopping Liverpool’ Every other United player seemed up for it. And we’ll get the same with Everton. If you guys went out of your way to make this effort (Ferguson turning up at the training ground), then maybe I’d give more credit.
Plus, I’ve seen this all before when Liverpool entertained United in the 90s at the time when they weren’t doing so well – playing well against United, then losing to a lesser team the week after.
Anyhow, from out point of view, I don’t particularly like these head-to-heads, and I’m glad the Old Trafford one’s been done and dusted so we can focus on our own games.

21st October 2019 at 10:26 am #50627It’s tactics Nil, that’s all, nothing to do with Utd wanting to stop Liverpool. Utd got their tactics spot on and it was to their strengths. Against teams like Newcastle is where Utd struggle as they are the ones having to force the game with a risk of the counter and they don’t have the creative players to do that.
That Fletcher article you linked was actually a very good analysis, mentioning things like the way the Utd forwards ran the channels etc. There’s a lot more to it than just “just play a βback 7β”.

21st October 2019 at 10:57 am #50631Is my favourite cyber chum Silly-Willy-Nilly complaining about teams getting a 1-0 lead and then defending that lead?
Chuffing nora, that reminds me of a certain Champions League Final that does…. π

21st October 2019 at 11:12 am #50634Turns out Origi went down holding the wrong bloody leg after the LindelΓΆf incident. First couple of times I saw that, I thought we’d got away with one but I’m convinced there was nowhere near enough contact to send him down like he did.

21st October 2019 at 11:14 am #50635That wasn't a foul…
Origi wasn't even trying. That fool is holding the wrong leg ? pic.twitter.com/nDQbyk3nNi— α΄Κα΄α΄Κ α΄Κα΄ Ι’Κα΄α΄α΄ ? (@xartur_kgz) October 20, 2019

21st October 2019 at 11:27 am #50636I think the problem with the Origi incident is that it was probably a foul but not clear enough to pass the “clear and obvious error” condition to have it overturned. Obviously, his reaction didn’t help either.

21st October 2019 at 11:33 am #50637Sorry Sweddy Eddy, but if you start giving fouls for shite like that we might as well call the game netball or something…
Really getting feed-up with footy, with all the bullocks players come out with (including my lot!), I think I’m going to take up something far more risky than footy like knitting or something.
They’re all acting like a bunch of tarts…
Is womens football this bad? Might have to start watching that…

21st October 2019 at 11:35 am #50638Agree about the clear and obvious error thing, but then refs play on thinking if they missed something or have doubts they can rely on VAR. Both leaving it to each other. The system is flawed and should be suspended in my opinion.

21st October 2019 at 11:37 am #50639Chucky, you don’t think the Origi one was a foul do you mean? Yeah I tend to agree but I did think it was initially.
Agree with you regarding the state of the game but it’s been like that for years. There are just more camera angles than there used to be.

21st October 2019 at 11:38 am #50640Completely agree Threeps. The whole system is clearly not a solution in its current form

21st October 2019 at 11:54 am #50641AnonymousSaw the Spurs game and wished I hadn’t bothered , it was embarrassing, Watford the bottom of the table side deserved all 3 points.
The problems at Spurs are far worse than I originally thought, Poch’s selection was inept and was never going to work playing 5 at the back and 2 DMF in front of them.FFS I’ve managed teams on Hackney marshes who were set up better than that. Where was the creativity supposed to come from when all he had was Lucas, Harry K and a woeful Dele as attacking options. When was the last time Disco or Winks scored ? to leave Sonny and Ndombele on the bench was criminal this game was made for them .
I like Poch and have defended him many times but ever since this season started he’s been complaining, transfer window in Europe, players wanting to leave, Jan, Toby and Christian, players who he doesn’t want but won’t leave Aurier, Rose and Wanyama, when is this going to stop ??
Poch has been a bit unlucky only one of his signings had made a league start which is a farce having Β£100m of new talent on the `treatment table considering it’s nearly November .
I’m not buying into this loss of form bollox, a couple of players yes but 11 ,how come the whole back 4 look like it’s the first time they’ve ever met,the players are obviously unhappy which is showing on the pitch as a total who gives a shit attitude.
I can’t see a way out of this unless Levy spends insanely in January which ain’t going to happen or Levy calls Poch into his office and sends him on his way.

21st October 2019 at 12:04 pm #50642Reckon 3p’s summed it up perfectly, everybody is leaving it to everybody else to make a decision.
Sweddy Eddy, didn’t think it was a foul in real time to be honest, let alone after the replays and before Origi fell over holding the wrong leg… π
I know it’s been like that for years, and yeah, the improved visual element of the game isn’t helping. It just seems these days everybody (and I include my Spuds in this) are now just playing to the rules and spend more time trying to win free-kicks etc.. than they do actually trying to score a bloody goal…

21st October 2019 at 12:05 pm #50643Another thing that grinds my gears, all this nonsense pretending to check for blood on their face with their shirt, even though nothing touched them, they’re all at it…

21st October 2019 at 12:10 pm #50644Thought it was a clear foul. Utd were getting frees for much less.
Still we move on. Origi rolling around like heβd been shit was pathetic
