Banjo- I read 9 comments regarding De Ligt, 8 blamed the medical team and 1 blamed the officials. I picked the 1 which blamed the officials. So no, I did not see it the incident.

Massive cop out to blame the medical team for de ligt, head cuts are notoriously difficult to stem. Clearly they would have done a stich or staple at HT. he was bleeding for a while and the ref choose 30 seconds before the end of the half to get him off the pitch. He could have turned a blind eye (as he had for the prior 15 mins).
By the letter of the law (if you exclude allowing him to play on with blood streaming for 15 mins) then he did really well. Common sense says he mucked up. Just wait 30 secs or allow him to be treated. He was ready to come back on but wasnβt allowed to do so. The ref shouldnβt have waited the first time, so itβs hardly as if he knew the rules anyway. Just wait the 30 secs to HT then there is no issue.
One of those where you claim itβs the letter of the law if it goes in your favour but would be upset if it went against you.
No idea why people have a go at the medics. Seems a massive cop out to blame them.
Whatβs the rule on concussion subs? Could they claim a concussion check and do a temporary sub?

Seen them given either way, if that was Utd scoring it would have been disallowed and everyone would be saying rightly so.
Refs will be hard to justify decisions in the upcoming weeks if they are now inconsistent.
City could have no complaints if it was ruled out, it wasnβt and now itβs up to refs to be consistent. As I say, seen them given and seen them not given. But there was a push, which did make the goalie off balance (and he couldnβt recover and make what should have been a simple save), and he was also offside.

You’re 100% spot on when you say consistancy is the key here…. personally it’s a contact sport, and whatnot etc… and giving off-sides etc.. for what Wee Bernard was doing is basically diluting the game into a wierd version of hopscotch… I’ve seen an awful lot worse not given, and I don’t think today’s should have been given… I just hope refs don’t start blowing for every “minor” infraction… every game would take two hours to play and finish 0-0…

Catch A Breath! Phew!
Best performance from us this season purely from a Team effort POV and the application put in off the ball, defending, being able to read the game, technically more skilful and physically more resilient.
Arne Slot has made a difference with the players he has inherited.
Shout out in particular to Gravenberch in how he’s grown in months to be a real quality midfielder. Jones looks more stronger. The players noticeably are physically better than previous.
