5th October 2018 at 10:33 pm #26931GJ, I just think the concentration levels will be back because of the importance of the game. Our defence is also much improved. By no means saying that guarantees us the win, just it’ll be more of a contest than some think. If our front 3 and midfield are still found wanting and don’t deliver, you’ll most probably win. We can’t keep turning to Sturridge to bail us out.

5th October 2018 at 10:58 pm #26934Mikus, Liverpool are slight favs with most bookies and yes, your defence is much improved.
Our record at Anfield is awful. I’ve got a feeling that Pep might go with a false nine, like he did at OT last season and try and pull your central defence out of shape. Just think we need to play it a bit more cautious for the first 30 and grow into the game. If we can keep it tight for the first half, I do think the fact that you played away and on Wednesday might come into play. Having said that, I’ve never seen a City team under Pep, play to keep it tight, so who knows, eh?
Like I posted earlier, I’d take the draw now._____________________________

6th October 2018 at 6:15 am #26936AnonymousWhether Maureen goes which is probably likely very few top clubs will want to sign on a manager whose clearly past his best and literally has lost his mind, in fact any club would be very stupid to bring on board such a fellow.

6th October 2018 at 8:43 am #26937According to the media it could be the end of the line for Mourinho at OT and it seems to have been coming for a while.
But whilst he’s made mistakes United’s problems go deeper than just Mourinho, this will be United’s third failing managerial appointment in the last 5 years and despite the significant investment in a squad which was left vulnerable and virtually unstrenghened in Fergies last couple of seasons the current squad look unbalanced and in need of some significant surgery to get anywhere close to being the best team in Manchester again.
It’s a massive job for whoever takes it on.

6th October 2018 at 9:31 am #26939Have to agree with you Sean. I can’t believe someone would leak this at United. Unless it was Mouriniho himself! ?

6th October 2018 at 10:23 am #26940It happened like this with LVG too he had barely got down the Wembley steps I wouldn’t rule it out. Plus we have the international break 99

6th October 2018 at 10:38 am #26942I wonder whether Mouriniho is having some kind of breakdown. His press conferences seem to getting more and more bizarre. I thought for a while that he isn’t as strong as he comes across as. And the constant criticism seems to be getting to him this year since he stromed into the City dressing room.

6th October 2018 at 10:49 am #26943It’s as though Man Utd need to press the reset button. They’ve made so many scattergun decisions over recent years that the whole club is all over the place. They’ll probably install somebody to try and make the best of the situation for the rest of the season, but finding somebody who’s job is just to steady the ship still won’t be easy, particularly if they’re constrained as to who they can sign or whether they’ll be expected to play certain players. The job will become a poisoned chalice if they’re not careful (if it isn’t already).

6th October 2018 at 10:52 am #26944Jim, Jose has been like that for years. The media have turned againest because he has lost his charm.
It’s an exact replicate of his last season at Chelsea. He hasn’t learned one thing from it. It’s akways everyone’s fault but his
Utd are in a bit of a mess at the minute. From top to bottom. Jose is a problem but so is the board. They should have backed him
Don’t know how much he’s soent there but the club needs a huge overhaul and if he goes then he’s left the team in a terrible state.
Utd fans think a massive clearout is still needed after all that money spent

6th October 2018 at 10:57 am #26947I’m not sure it’s got anything to do with Mourinho storming into the City dressing room Jim as Sean rightly says all this very much mirrors his last season at Chelsea.

6th October 2018 at 11:11 am #26948Nine, I just used that incident as a possible turning point. Cleaely he is a proud man and I suspect he is very hurt by the constant criticism.

6th October 2018 at 1:16 pm #26950Jim, I’m sure you’re right about the criticism hurting him as Neville said Mourinho has sat through circa 14 pre and post match press conferences over the last 7 games where’s he’s been given a bit of a kicking and some of the questions are inane too.
I dreaded his press conferences towards the end of his tenure at Chelsea.
I hope he hangs on a bit longer because Chelsea are United’s first opponent after the international break and players always react to a new Manager.

6th October 2018 at 2:44 pm #26951“To be honest with you Kelly I’m furious. I’m furious going back three, four years ago when David Moyes was sacked, when it broke a day before to journalists.
“I think of Louis van Gaal being sacked the day before a cup final and finding out from other people. I think about how the club is being operated.
“If this is true, we don’t know if it’s true, but if this is true, and Jose Mourinho is going to walk out at Old Trafford tomorrow almost like a dead man walking, those fans will absolutely turn towards that boardroom.
“It’s unacceptable, and I have to say that Jose Mourinho will get the biggest support he’s ever had in his life tomorrow in that ground. And I’ll be there to give it to him.”
“Because look, at the end of the day this been going on for five or six years, and I have to say that any manager… Jose Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world, and I think in this moment in time any manager would struggle in that football club.
“The way in which the recruitment’s handled, the way in which it operates… and enough’s enough for me.
“I love that football club. I absolutely love it to death. It’s been my life. It’s given me everything, and I have to say that something has to change and it isn’t the manager, it’s above that.
“I’m furious as I sit here thinking that there’s a report that broken out. Journalists don’t break stories of this nature unless they’re absolutely certain. I hope it’s not true, but if it is true I think it’s an absolute disgrace.”
“It’s coming to a point where by when you’ve have an opportunity to appoint three or four managers, and this is the fourth manager in six years, you to start looking at not the manager, but the people who are appointed the manager, the people who are bringing in the players, the people who are sanctioning the deals, the people who are spending on players, the people who are allowing the tail to wag the dog.
“The dressing room is leading what’s happening, the tail is wagging the dog at the football club.
“Get some control back. Get some leadership. For me, at this moment in time, I’m furious. It’s been coming for three or four weeks.
“Undermining Jose on the eve of the season, explaining to journalists why he couldn’t sign those centre-backs.
“Who is qualified in that football club to be able to tell Jose Mourinho that Alderweireld, Maguire or Boateng are not better than the centre-backs they’ve got?
“Who is qualified in that football club? There’s only two people I can think of and they wouldn’t have been consulted, in fact we know they weren’t consulted. Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Alex Ferguson.” Garry Neville
