8th October 2023 at 9:34 pm #210228CM – “What a goal by Martinelli.”
It was (another) deflection, CM.We were not good today but I don’t think Arsenal did enough in the match to warrant the 3 points.
Not the end of the world and not at all worried – considering we have a few new players still ‘bedding in’, a couple coming back from injury and the loss of Rodri (silly boy). We invariably start most seasons in this form – if anyone can get it right, Pep will.

8th October 2023 at 10:09 pm #210229Thought it was a well worked goal by Arsenal. You only have to give credit where it is due.
Your starting 11 cost 350m and your subs bench cost 350m.
Having a few injuries shouldn’t be an excuse, along with having a ref in charge who is on the UAE payroll. because not every side has that luxury.

9th October 2023 at 12:09 pm #210233Unfortunately itβs refs again. Now idea how Bruno and kovacic were not sent off for two yellows.
I used to rate Oliver but Jesus he has gone to shite aswell

9th October 2023 at 1:03 pm #210234I still like Oliver personally. The reason why there’s inconsistencies is because its different matches, and different Refs. If the stud catches a players shin, these days it should be a yellow. You could get away with quite a lot 20+ years ago.

9th October 2023 at 1:06 pm #2102352 league defeats in god knows how many years. That shows how much on a different scale they have been.
I dont think people need to be over critical over it and equally, they should bemoan about their injury problems.
We all have them! β½οΈππΌ

What the hell does that have to do with it?
I’m not sure a United fan (you are one aren’t you, CM?) can have a go at any club about what it’s spent when United have literally wasted more cash on players over the last 5/6 years than the rest of the PL added together._____________________________

10th October 2023 at 9:13 am #210238Sean – I think refs are poor now as they ‘rely’ on the safety net of VAR. They think VAR will correct mistakes so let a lot more go, but VAR then only corrects clear and obvious errors and won’t pick up little inconsistencies. They are so used to not making a decision that they have now got into a habit of letting things go.
I think they are so adverse to criticism that they won’t make any decisions.
Not sure if you are in to rugby, but the same is happening in the RWC. They let this new bunker ref make the decisions. Despite seeing the incident clearly on the big screen they will give a yellow and send it to review. Sadly the bunker ref is inconsistent and the decisions have been appallingly inconsistent as a result. Most of the time the ref will even say, clear contact to the head, no mitigation, should be red but we will give a yellow and review. So you know exactly what the ref thinks, but the bunker ref will then keep a yellow for whatever reason.

10th October 2023 at 1:50 pm #210239Itβs just the inconsistency Alfie chum. As you and cm have pointed out. Itβs ruining the game

12th October 2023 at 9:38 am #210240Speaking of rugby do these refs even know the rules or what they blowing for? I belong to a first division rugby club and the players tell us they don’t even know why the refs keep blowing every 5 seconds. When they ask they get no answer or some kind of puzzling reply.
