Surprising results from this afternoon (didn’t see the football having been at work). Forest to have held Chelsea at Stamford Bridge is impressive. Thought Villa would edge past United, but this goes to show you can’t take the duration of a match for granted.
There are teams I respect that do try hard even knowing underlyingly, they may be weaker on paper. Strength of the Prem upholds itself with competitiveness from your least unlikely candidates.

6th October 2024 at 7:04 pm #215908Danny Welbeck (ex Man Utd) has scored 4 goals this season which is nearly as many as Man Utd as a team have scored in total this season (5 goals).

6th October 2024 at 7:09 pm #215909Can’t stand Ange honestly with his “I always win things in my second year” snipe. Incredibly embarrassing for Ten Hag that we made them look as good as they did at OT. That alone is a sackable offence.

7th October 2024 at 10:33 am #215912Utd have to get rid of rashford. He needs a move. He looks so unhappy and pure petulance for that 2nd tackle which should hav resulted in a 2nd yellow. On his day absolutely unstoppable. Really top player but hes to inconsistent . Best for club and him if he leaves at this stage

7th October 2024 at 10:59 am #215913Problem is Sean he is on 300k base wage, who in the World will match that for his output?

7th October 2024 at 5:04 pm #215916Yeah agree Sean. He badly needs a move. I think Utd letting him go for a reasonably small fee, considering those wages, would suit everyone. He’d tear it up at PSG

7th October 2024 at 5:13 pm #215917Should have got rid when he demanded 300k a week. Only 1 spectacular season in his career. Turns 27 soon.
He is Walcott all over again. People waiting for this player to become world class, but it will never happen.

10th October 2024 at 9:57 pm #215947Not having a go at the players, or teams, but that England defending is exactly what I mean when I say no players will look good if the team lets players run at the defence.
Absolute shambles for both goals, which would not happen at their club levels as they would have more protection in front of them.
So glad Maguire wasnβt involved as we all know what the papers and forums would have been full of if he was out there.

11th October 2024 at 9:52 am #215952I’ve seen this all before with new Managers; too much change too soon. That’s essentially what it looked like y’day. The shape often was lost and tendered at times as dysfunctional. Greece would have had more goals bar Offside and VAR.
One interesting observation on Arne Slot is that he is using what he has inherited and not just going out and buying players willy-nilly for the sake of change. He’s actually refining and coaching/developing to re-shape existing stock into better individual and team players.
