2nd October 2019 at 3:23 pm #49048AnonymousSteveo, I don’t think our mood is the issue, it’s the fact that no matter what, we’re always going on about something 😛
Nah jokes aside, I think we’ve been struggling for topics, as the Liverpool Going Forward thread kinda indicates. We had a super quiet summer and so far, we’re winning but in a kinda spartan manner. There are no Salah, Mane or Firmino headlines, bar the odd nice goal. I think the press are a lot quieter about us than they would usually be when we’re on a winning run. I guess it’s all because everyone knows that no matter what lead we manage, it doesn’t mean a damn thing when you know City could win every game in the 2nd half of the season and reel it all in, pass it and win the PL. Man City are just a whole new animal.
Hopefully this season we’ll see a 90 point maximum PL champion, cause it’ll just start getting boring for all the neutrals. Once or twice is fine…

2nd October 2019 at 4:08 pm #49053Don’t think so Micky, the two Top-Dogs will both get 90 plus and I doubt anybody else will get 80… in fact, I’ll be amazed if anybody else reaches 75…

2nd October 2019 at 5:20 pm #49059AnonymousI dunno. I mean, this ‘barely win our way to Xmas’ thing that we did last season seems to be getting off the ground now but there’s no margin for error with us over the last 2 PL games. Both Chelsea and Sheffield Utd could have taken a point late on and could we have said anything about it? 97 was last season. Just because it’s looking very similar so far, doesn’t mean that this is sustainable for another huge run of tough games.
Look at city then. They are definitely able to turn up the heat seemingly at will but they are exploitable, as we’ve seen. They are going up against Watford without Laporte, Fernandinho missing from midfield cause he has to cover at CB cause Stones is useless (but also injured). Then KDB might miss out due to injury also. It’s a shame that Wolves are dire this season because a half a decent team might get something from City. Having said that, Wolves actually won their last game, against utter filth or not it’s still a win. Hope that gives them confidence.
On the whole though, I see City’s situation as being more sustainable because unlike us, they don’t look like they are out of ideas. Honestly, Liverpool are bloody winging it right now and as nice as it is to stack another 3 points on the board, that “win while your playing poorly” thing is only good if the playing poorly part is a match here or there. Leicester offer a much sterner test than Sheffield, they are on form and this means the lads will be under no illusions of an easy game. This will be a match for our defence, as we will need our offside game to be on point, or else…

2nd October 2019 at 8:19 pm #49075We need the League. There’s no 2 ways. I can’t pretend on a forum that everything’s nice when that’s the ultimate thing I’ve wanted as a Supporter. It’s hard not to therefore begrudge others.
Hopefully our 30 year end finally ends.
