Mikus, I don’t disagree with any of that. The midfield definitely has to be better going forward. We can be way too slow moving the ball around. It’s something we’re criminal of early season under Klopp. I say early season but it can go on long enough. We have the other lads to come in and add something but I wouldn’t really consider Keita and Oxlade to be particularly creative, in terms of passing the ball. At least they will be more dynamic though.
I don’t know if you remember last season, I was going absolutely mental about us barely edging victories with seemingly the minimum effort or guile required. I said it wasn’t sustainable. It turned out to be over that season but there were too many results that could have gone against us and this game was another one of them, so don’t think Im absolutely over the moon with things but I was just glad to get the points THIS time. Some day a shot or a save will go against us late on in a match and we’ll not be able to save it.
Nine, Lamps has been tested in terms of fixture difficulty but I don’t count it until the honeymoon period is over. It’s been a hard few games, so it hasn’t seemed like a honeymoon period at all.. I mean, there’s nothing typical about it except for the actual time-frame involved and that for me is the most important.
That said, I’m confident that Lampard will actually turn out to be a good coach. For me, there seems to be an actual gradient of improvement from the side. As for not getting too excited yet, I get you and the cautious approach to where ye might finish in the PL this season is definitely for the best. I bet you’d agree though, it’s an exciting time to be a Chelsea fan, otherwise.
