Mouriniho will be lucky to last a week after that result. Crazy

29th September 2018 at 2:42 pm #26770Mourinho has lots of questions to answer but United have performed badly in the transfer market all the way back to the last couple of SAF’s seasons and Pogba is not doing anyone any favours with his behaviour.
You do wonder how much longer it might go on but whoever is Manager will struggle to get the right tune out of this current squad.
Massive job for whoever takes over and there’s no obvious candidates Zidane has been constantly linked but he’s never had to rebuild a team/squad over a prolonged period which is probably what’s necessary at United now

29th September 2018 at 2:51 pm #26771AnonymousThis is Mourinhoβs third season. Heβs had 5 transfer windows and spent a fuck load of money. He has no excuses!

29th September 2018 at 3:12 pm #26772I don’t think anyone is suggesting that Mourinho has any excuses Paxton certainly I’m not.
The majority of the current problems are down to Mourinho but it does go broader than just Mourinho and to solve the problems and get back on track United are going to have to do more than just replace Mourinho imo and replacing him with the right person is going to be both difficult and very important and personally I’m not sure Zidane is the right man.
And what is and what should be Woodward’s role going forwards?

29th September 2018 at 5:53 pm #26776Adlab, I’ve always said the same re Zidane. He’s probably not the answer. However, Ive started to think it depends what the question is. Would Zidane have us playing more attractive football? Yes. Would Zidane solve the Pogba dilemma? Absolutely, Pogba idolises him. You get Pogba on side, you’re half way there. Would Zidane instantly command respect in the dressing room and boost our dwindling PR profile? Without doubt. Now, I don’t think he’s the most capable tactician there is but I don’t think that’s what we need right now. We need someone to come in and put a smile on the faces of the players again. I wouldn’t be against Zidane coming in under a well thought through Director of Football appointment with which we build a structure which means the head coach is easily interchangeable. We need to get away from this old fashioned way of working where the manager is everything at the club.

29th September 2018 at 8:15 pm #26781Mav, Conte is like Mourinho and too defensive for United imo similarly Simeone. Hiddink is 72 in a couple of months and I doubt he would take another Club job even on an interim basis and he’s managing the China U23’s to the Olympics in Tokyo for 2020.

29th September 2018 at 8:19 pm #26782Great game would have happily taken the draw before the game but it feels like a defeat now with the equaliser coming so late.
The Chelsea defence played very well tonight and has been slowly improving well done to Sarri. Hell of a hit from Sturridge though.

29th September 2018 at 8:23 pm #26783Adlab, Kepa made a great save and couldn’t do anything about the equaliser no keeper could. Not sure what you could point to that he got wrong today. I know we paid a lot of money for him but he’s still very young and inexperienced and will continue to develop imo.

29th September 2018 at 9:41 pm #26788Sarri was asked if he felt the two meetings between the sides this week have changed his opinion about Liverpool being further ahead of Chelsea in terms of their development
βNo. I think they are a step forward. I also think we are closer than I thought one week ago.β
I think he might be right.
