23rd September 2019 at 9:04 pm #48230I assume JK won Coach of the Year for Liverpool winning the CL – obviously ignoring the fact they lost four games in the process, in what is essentially a knock-out tournament.
Meanwhile down the EL Road, Pep wins 4 (FOUR) trophies and not a sausage – very strange._____________________________

23rd September 2019 at 10:04 pm #48232gjblues, is it that hard to appreciate why some people may think that what Klopp achieved with liverpool last year (ie 96 points and a champs league) given his squad is a better achievement than Peps 97 points and 2 domestic cups given his squad?
I understand if you think Pep did the better job, but I dont see why it is such a controversy that Klopp won, it is obviously very close and he was certainly deserving of consideration at least.

You won the PL, losing 4 in the process. So are you saying that we were better than you in that competition as well? We only lost 1.
Liverpool went through Bayern, Barca and also the team who knocked you out in order to win the CL. We drew with Utd, or Everton to miss out on the PL. So, I think it’s fair to suggest that Klopp did better. I mean, we all know that Pep was hired to win the CL. That’s the main one for his bosses. Maybe you’ll get it this season and then change your mind about whether or not you expect him to be manager of the year.

24th September 2019 at 6:44 am #48236I think City fans need to tone down the arrogance a little and show more respect.

24th September 2019 at 8:10 am #48238Is the charity shield a trophy now?
Just don’t get the bitterness sometimes
We came back from 3-0 down againest Barca in the 1st leg an were down and out. Most unexpected trophy win ever considering 2nd leg we were missing firmino and Salah
A net spend of 100m in 4 years. He fully deserved it.
I’d be just enjoying watching an unreal city team and winning trophies instead of moaning about refs and being bitter.
There really no need for it.

24th September 2019 at 8:28 am #48239Perhaps Klopp’s award recognised the cumulative effect of what he’s done at Liverpool as well as winning the CL he was a smidgen away from winning the PL title last season too and took Liverpool to back to back CL Finals.
Having said that winning the English treble has never been done and should have been recognised imo perhaps it should have been a joint award by FIFA.
Jose started claiming the Charity Shield was a trophy it’s silly imo.

24th September 2019 at 8:33 am #48241Dermot Gallagher explains why Chelsea’s goal was ruled out.
“Having gone 1-0 down from a well-worked Trent Alexander-Arnold free kick, Chelsea thought they had responded at Stamford Bridge when Azpilicueta tapped home from close range following Fabinho’s failed clearance inside his own box.
The move started when Mason Mount was in an offside position and despite there being a period of play after the offside, Gallagher explained to Sky Sports why it was right for the goal not to stand
Mount was clearly offside. The view of the VAR was that Liverpool never had a chance to defend that situation,” the former referee said.
“Chelsea had six players touch the ball while Liverpool’s two touches were accidental touches. The VAR has to decide whether Liverpool had a chance to defend and he chose no’.”
That’s sorted that one out then.?

24th September 2019 at 9:48 am #48249Come on threeps we all put up a silly post now and again. And what Pep achieved last season has never been done before.
Given what City have won and where they are now I don’t think the City posters on here have shown any real arrogance.
Let’s not drive City posters away from the site with claims that they are arrogant and need to show more respect.

24th September 2019 at 10:12 am #48251It’s an accolade. I wouldn’t have personally been too bothered if we didn’t win or be shown recognition.
Nobody’s argued against Man City being the ultimate powerhouse, so I don’t know why people just don’t go with the flow and start accepting stuff for what it is rather than be bitter every other time and start causing arguments.
Just puts people off, coming on here.

24th September 2019 at 10:29 am #48253Nine, there’s a presoective in here that it’s just all Liverpool fans but it’s not.
If someone says something that’s not right then we are going to say something.
The problem is people are not objective. We have our own fair share but just look at adlabs posts. Constantly having a dig at us and utd and giving out about refs when city get their fair share of decisions
Threeps is well entitled to say what he wants as it is arrogance. It’s not just at one post. If people are driven away by comments in a message board about football then that is just ridiculous
Why can’t some city fans just enjoy the ride? I really don’t understand it

24th September 2019 at 10:32 am #48254Nine, I fully respect the achievements of City and Pep last season, they did great and are a fantastic team. But a few comments came across as arrogant. I totally understand you do not wish posters to be put off from coming here, think we are all in agreement, but it doesn’t mean some can post whatever they like and we all must tread on egg shells in case we upset them.

24th September 2019 at 10:37 am #48255As much as I think he is incredibly overrated and ultimately jammier than a packet of Jammy Dodgers, I’ll doff my cap to this and do genuinely hope it inspires more from the global football family to join!!
The RB Leipzig head coach, Julian Nagelsmann, 32, who became the first manager to join Common Goal in October 2017, said: “Klopp, with his incredible achievements in the Bundesliga and the Premier League, as well as the way fans beyond his own club hold him in such high esteem, will have a tremendous impact on raising awareness of the movement and inspiring other football managers and top-level players to follow suit.”
Common Goal’s long-term vision is to unlock 1% of the football industry’s revenues – estimated at €50bn per year – for grassroots football NGOs that use the game to empower disadvantaged young people and their communities.
Klopp said: “As a team, even with a minimum pledge of just 1%, together the football industry is capable of transforming the world. Now is the time for those interested to take a step forward.”
