24th September 2018 at 7:24 am #26606So, week 6 over with….
Not that surprised about Wolves nabbing a point to be honest, they’ve looked pretty decent when I’ve seen them this season. Reckon they’ll easily finish top half of the table and will nab a fair few points of the “Top 6”.
A bit disappointed about Goonie game, saw the first half and the Toffeemen were quite easily holding their own, and created a few decent chances. Those two quick goals really knocked the stuffing out of them.
The Salahpool juggernaut keeps on rolling, although a couple of tough games coming up, some real tests to see if they can give City a run for the money.
Spuds getting back to winning ways (and showing some signs of life towards the end of the match, even “Olde” Harry made an appearance with Lamela proving perhaps worthy of a starting spot!). But then again, Brighton were also very, very poor…

24th September 2018 at 8:20 am #26607Moos, no you’re right about that and it’s Chelsea’s obvious Achilles heel Sunday was just like a re run of Thursday night almost total domination but no one to put the ball in the net.
I can’t help thinking Costa would have been filling his boots in this team playing the Sarri way.
Can we stay in touch with Liverpool and City and solve it in January? It’s a big ask Sarri obviously knew the problem because he wanted Higuain but perhaps understandably the Club were cautious about spending Β£50m on a 31 year old allegedly there’s interest in Mitrovic who looks very Costaesque to me?
Shame really because if Chelsea had a goal scoring striker I think we could mount a credible title challenge. Cheers 999

24th September 2018 at 8:33 am #26608Not too sure if Chelski can use Thursday as much of an excuse to be honest. There were a few changes to include players who didn’t even travel, and not as though you didn’t see plenty of the ball, just didn’t have your shooting boots on. Games like these always happen against teams who just set back (soon a few of those agasint the Spuds, including Brighton!).
Personally, Chelski have started a lot better than most people expected, and are only going to get better as the season progress’s. Might not be enough to challenge Salahpool or MoneyCity, but I reckon 3rd is quite easily achievable, when you look at the stuttering Spuds/Goonies/YooUtd teams…

24th September 2018 at 8:34 am #26609I note that De Gea was Utd man of the match for the third consecutive week.

24th September 2018 at 4:46 pm #26619Maverick do you think Sanchez unbalances the team. Thats the impression I had with the highlights of matches I have seen. But.. could Jose admit that he shouldnt have signed him or do you have another theory.
He will be 30 this December, not that 30 is old these days. Look at David Silva._____________________________

24th September 2018 at 4:59 pm #26620Should have never been signed m8,like Matic. But Jose will never think long-term.

24th September 2018 at 5:45 pm #26621For what’s its worth, Sanchez is only at YooUtd because Maureen got into a willy-waving competition with Pepe. You look at the way the Goonies play and the way City play, he would have been far, far better at City than YooUtd. The wages turned his head…

24th September 2018 at 8:20 pm #26622Chuky, I for one, pleased that he did not come to City, we are not doing too bad without him. Utd have bought Cplayers City had shown an interest in, Sanchez, Pogba, Van Persie in particular. VP did win them a title though. Utd have the talent but not the team.

24th September 2018 at 9:05 pm #26623Everyone fishes in a very small pond and there are very few big fish to hook and the major Club’s will always collide with each other as they are all fishing in that same pond.
Some times transfers work some times they don’t but the quest to improve will always be there.

24th September 2018 at 10:23 pm #26626Yeah I’m not sure there is a big transfer out there where other big clubs hadn’t previously shown an interest in signing him. Extremely rare these days with so much coverage to find players who no club have wanted to sign before! I can still remember Utd thinking they had Ronaldinho in the bag until Barca swooped in at the last minute.
Sanchez is an odd one. I’m not sure why either Jose or Pep were after him if I’m honest. Pep had already signed him once before and got rid. For me, Sanchez needs to be the main man as he is for Chile and he was for Arsenal. He’ll never be that at Utd, nor would he have been at City. So, I’m not convinced we’ll ever see the best of him. Shame really, because he’s a top player when on top of his game.

25th September 2018 at 7:57 am #26629Ed, Sanchez was not the top man at Barca but still still well.
He should fit easily into any team and in my opinion would have done well at a real attacking team like city
Utd donβt create enough chances. They maybe create 3/4 really good chances a game. City create loads and loads.
Itβs utds style for me. Score 1 then try and manage the game.
Still he gives the ball away far to much. He works hard and tracks back but he can do so much better. His signing has upset utd. Martial had scored 3 in 3 before Sanchez cane. Sanchez was a right winger. He played there for udunese, Barca and only moved left at aresnal a few years into his time there. Utd should try him on the right then play martial left
Jose changes the team to quickly when things go wrong. There is an abundance of attacking quality there. Not sure why lackau gets so much stick. Heβs done really well as he is scoring goals.

25th September 2018 at 5:05 pm #26637I don’t think he was that great at Barca to be honest Sean. He barely played until his third season and when he did, had the fortune of playing in probably the greatest club side ever. The fact he was sold for a mere Β£30-Β£35mil suggests he didn’t live up to the hype there.
As for Lukaku, totally agree. There are lots of useless players in our squad but Lukaku is one of the better ones IMO.

25th September 2018 at 5:16 pm #26638I think Jose’s biggest problem now is that he doesn’t have the players on side. You look at those Chelsea players under him, particularly in his first spell, and they’d have run through walls for him. Pogba and him not getting on will cause a massive split in the dressing room. I don’t buy into the notion that he’s past it, but I don’t think he’ll ever get this side fully behind him again and will ultimately leave or be forced out but I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see him continue winning trophies long after leaving Utd.

25th September 2018 at 9:50 pm #26645Foden played well according to news feeds and match reports. Played 90. Got his first City Goal and an assist. The lad has a bright future. So so pleased for him.

25th September 2018 at 10:01 pm #26646Yeah quite simple for me, Jim:
1, We’re awful at the moment.
2, It’s the League Cup against a lower league teamIt doesn’t surprise me at all if I’m honest! Don’t blame them one bit for staying away.
