Chuky…you are absolutely right. I should not let it make me annoyed when I see the in the Mail this morning “is the end?” words to that effect. I wish you, Mak and others would get a job doing it, at least it would be entertaing and more informative as to what actually happens

16th September 2019 at 2:42 pm #47611I’ll take that as a compliment!!
The thing is, I didn’t think City played that badly. Only watch the last half an hour or so, and they certainly had enough decent chances to get a point or even three. Both Sterling and Agureo missed decent chances and have previously scored with a lot harder chances in other games.
Norwich, you have to give them credit for their rearguard action, and scoring 3 goals from 3 chances isn’t something that happens for any team every week. The footballing Gods were smiling down upon them yesterday, that is all. I can remember a few games with my Spuds over the last 18 months or so which were exactly the same. The other team gets one chance, gets one goal, and hangs on for dear life.
I think all talk about the “demise” of the mean-machine that is City is considerably exaggerated!!

16th September 2019 at 4:41 pm #47613Chuky you have a point, because it was interesting to hear Pep being more critical of his strikers than the defenders who clearly let the side down. Europe next then Watford, prefer the 3 pts off Watford but I am sure they will go for 6 pts

17th September 2019 at 5:59 am #47617AnonymousWeather is an important factor in determining a move to a foreign country. We all laugh at it because I think by enlarge, we’re from miserable places ๐ … but the lives of someone who is used to a lot of outside activities can change dramatically when they see that it’s either cold, windy or drizzly through most of the year. It’s definitely no small thing, like we all go on as if it were.
As for this particular situation, I think the agent was more joking that it’s not a good thing to start contract discussions in the depths of cold and dark winter. I’m not sure how serious a response it was.

17th September 2019 at 7:36 am #47618Should have done it after the jammy Barca win and the flukey CL final… you’ll never get that lucky again!! ๐
I can’t help wondering, if Kloop wins the Prem, would he want to extend? That’s a double edged sword right there… having won all that there is to win.

17th September 2019 at 10:12 am #47623What are your thoughts on Emery Steveo? Whilst I think he can be a clever manager tactically here and there, he just doesnโt strike me as someone who can really build a project up with a strong identity. The following article asks some important questions:

17th September 2019 at 10:50 am #47624To be fair, our winters are bad. Though, being in the Midlands, we’re lucky. Think about the time of those early morning starts and having to scrape Ice or de-frost your windscreen every other morning?!
Just win us a couple of Titles Jurgen, then you can put your feet up ๐

i think personally think he is very limited, how ANY manager especially in the top league can ignore our defence and the players and then introduce tactics to put them under even more pressure when they dont have the ability is shcocking
i think he is in the mould of AW, likes to attack and think thats it….his time is running short for me now, he has been backed, had time but its his own selection and tactics and refusal to learn now that are begining to irk!

17th September 2019 at 2:48 pm #47637“GARY NEVILLE has revealed the three Manchester United transfers he’s dreaming of – Raphael Varane, N’Golo Kante and Kylian Mbappe after raging at Paul Pogba’s agent.
The Old Trafford legend, 44, is desperate for the club to land Raphael Varane, N’Golo Kante and Kylian Mbappe in a bid to get back to the top.

Gary Neville has demanded Man Utd sign players for their ‘spine’
Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is thought to be keen on James Maddison and Jadon Sancho – but Nev has other ideas after demanding United “find a spine”.Neville told Sky Sports: “Manchester United, somehow, have got to find a spine.
“Look at Liverpool. Fabinho, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Roberto Firmino… unbelievable players, same with Manchester City’s spine.
“My thing at the moment is how do Manchester United recruit, in the next 12 to 18 months, a spine that will help Unitedโs younger players?
“Years ago, Unitedโs spine were players like Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister, Peter Schmeichel, Roy Keane, Andy Cole, Eric Cantona.
“The spine of that team is immense. The problem with Unitedโs team now, is not the younger players on the pitch.
“The spine of the team is Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Ashley Young and David De Gea.
“Who knows what the likes of Andreas Pereira, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James will become, they need a spine.
“If Manchester United get the right three players in amongst that squad, they won’t be far off. It can be done.”
When quizzed on Twitter as to who would be the perfect building blocks for United, Neville replied: “Varane, Kante and Mbappe.”
Meanwhile, Neville has taken aim Mino Raiola – branding him a “disgrace” – for his behaviour during the summer transfer window, with Pogba continually linked with a move to Real Madrid.”
Good call from Neville.
Prising those players away from their relevant Clubs wouldn’t be easy and additionally very very very expensive probably too expensive and beyond even United and FFP without United made some significant sales out themselves but I get where he’s coming from and you just never know.?
