CM @ 6:30 totally agree and to add to that, the facet these days much to my dislike is that teams don’t employ in a set up a conventional 2 upfront and a ilk of a midfielder in a habit of shooting outside the D. Why not?
Teams just try to walk the ball in the net. From a Neutral perspective, no criticism as such aimed at Today’s match as I did enjoy that. Gunners pretty good getting goals from set pieces.

22nd September 2024 at 7:20 pm #215699It was one of the worst refereeing performance i have ever seen. City have score well beyond the 7 additional minutes added. The red card was also outrageous. Let us hear from the FA. They jump to charge coaches and players when they complain, but are silent when the referees mess up. Double standard.

22nd September 2024 at 7:27 pm #215700Noticed that City seem to play better against 11 players, they don’t have much of a clue what to do against 10 men.

22nd September 2024 at 7:37 pm #2157017 minutes wasnt enough with the amount if time wasting arsenal were doing.
It cost them in the end. Only thing ref got wrong was aresnals 1st goal.

22nd September 2024 at 7:41 pm #215702If Trossard was attempting to stop a quick free kick, then I would understand. He did it whilst chasing the ball.
Maguire did something similar last week, he was just trying to clear the ball. That is his job. He only has a second to decide whether a ref blows for a foul or to clear the ball.

22nd September 2024 at 7:52 pm #215704I don’t think on the whole Managers help themselves regardless of the pressure they may be under. This though comes with the territory. Although you would think they have a duty to conduct themselves in such way, the reality 9/times/10 when a dubious decision goes against them, the demeanour all of a sudden will change.
VAR so far this season in my eyes, better managed and not drawing too much attention to themselves. Seemingly more common-sense applied.
Player-Manager-Referee skirmishes from today, I would say that’s normal. It’s not top heavy and the dust settles once the whistle blows and players shake hands either then or further down the line out of the changing rooms.
This is normal throughout the football league and didn’t reach any levels of physical abuse/violence. Just Handbags as it should be and left at that.

23rd September 2024 at 8:33 am #215707You don’t want to see players sent off for kicking the ball away, but what else can the ref do? Can he allow players already on a card to make as many minor offenses as they want? It’s a yellow card offense and he got carded.
Annoyingly they will decide to stop making it a yellow card offense soon and everyone will go back to whacking the ball away whenever they feel like it.

23rd September 2024 at 9:56 am #215708Last year at the emirates when Rodri should have been sent off the ref after the game said it was to not spoil the contest both serious fouls as well
We are also told when on a yellow the offence for the second has to be more and refs let more go or there would be far more reds in games
So many inconsistencies and twice in 5 games for this to happen
Common sense is dead_____________________________

23rd September 2024 at 10:25 am #215709That was kovaic stevo. How he wasnt sent off was crazy. I agree with alfie though. Trossard only has himself to blame. Mindless.

23rd September 2024 at 11:23 am #215710Didn’t Doku also kick the ball away and he didn’t get a yellow.
Problem with Oliver is, he is known to give favourable decisions to City which change the dynamic of the game. Any ref who has officiated in the UAE shouldn’t be allowed to ref City games.

23rd September 2024 at 11:39 am #215711Oliver has gone to shite. Hes dreadful but the moaning from areta and aresnal fans is laughable.
There was extra time because an arsenal ayer was gking down every two minutes. Time wasting that hindered them. Troassard barges into the player then kicks the ball away. Whats there to argue about.
The rec calls walker over then lets Arsenal take a quick free from tye wrong position with walker out of position. Thats the worst call of the game.
John stones saying arsenal use dark arts and tactical fouling is the most hypocritical thing of the weekend 😂 city are the masters of it
I dont get the moaning from fans when the have clearly messed up. Just admit it and stop makimg excuses. I include liverpool fans. Just own your mistakes.

23rd September 2024 at 11:47 am #215712Haaland purposely throwing the ball at Gabriel after the equaliser and then barging in to Partey immediately after the kick off. 2 yellow card offences there.
Any other side the player who committed those offences would have been sent off.

23rd September 2024 at 1:34 pm #215714We could disect this forever…
Hertz should have got a yellow for shoulder charging Rodders in the first second… Rodders could have also got a yellow for trying to deliberately block him in the first second (and get a yellow for acting like a dick about it and pretending he had 12 teeth knocked out…
And that’s the first second… 🙂
As for the Doku incident, I do genuinely think he was just passing the ball back to where Oliver was pointing as the Goonies tried to nicked about 15 yards for the free-kick… in theory he kicked it away, straight to the place it should have been taken… book Doku for that then you should be booking whoever the Goonie was taking the piss…
Don’t worry Buffy, you got away with it at the Lane, all evens out over the season… 🙂

23rd September 2024 at 2:21 pm #215715Havertz barged into Rhodri straight from the first kick off and didn’t get booked. You might argue Rhodri moved across him, but you can also argue ref being consistent with the two incidents.
I agree that Oliver, and the other refs paid by City’s owners, should not be allowed to officiate City games, that is just common sense. But Haaland on Gabriel was really poor sportsmanship and that needs to be clamped down on.

23rd September 2024 at 2:23 pm #215716I’m not sure Rodri played for City last season against Arsenal in Emirates. I thought he was suspended.

23rd September 2024 at 9:18 pm #215719Raise hands to players face = red
Kicking ball away = yellow
Throwing a ball at opponents head = no actionCertainly makes sense.

24th September 2024 at 8:10 am #215720He should have been booked for that, but I guess VARY can’t intervene as it’s only a yellow and neither can the FA.
That said, I am sure VAR has had a quiet word with refs in the past over bookings as players have been booked after a huge delay before.

24th September 2024 at 9:01 am #215721There’s quite a lot of footage being splashed on social media of incidents relating during and after the game.
I actually preferred players patting each other on the back. I saw an uglier side to Haaland what appeared to be sarcastic in the way he addressed himself to Mikel Arteta. There really was no need for that.
Jesus should not have confronted him. I think coming out of a heated affair you should just head straight towards the changing rooms.
Footage revealing apparent instructions laid to David Raya to Time-waste.
Problem in modern society more than ever is nearly every movement of yours is under scrutiny. Cameras are everywhere and before you know it, you are under the Spotlight!

24th September 2024 at 9:02 am #215722And I’m not holding Michael Oliver responsible. The FA do need to get hold of this and be clear this sort of conduct and behaviour is unacceptable.
