That really is a lovely finish from Ferguson. Driving run from open play. Lots of space for him to pick his spot.

2nd September 2023 at 6:57 pm #209143Yeah they’ve had chances, but let themselves down with their finishing.

2nd September 2023 at 7:04 pm #209145Just watched the Ake goal. I wouldn’t have given it and the one Sheffield scored last week was even worse and was given.
As usual confusing rules.
A decision for us from Oliver. Amazing.
Seriously some of these new rules are ridiculous for the ref to interpret._____________________________

2nd September 2023 at 7:13 pm #209146Nil, if he was trying to move out the way as you say, then even the player must have thought he was in the way, and if that doesn’t mean “interfering with play”, I don’t know what does, cyber chum.

2nd September 2023 at 7:25 pm #209147Not sure that offside law is new Adlab, been there donkeyβs years. Offside in all of them!
VAR is more of a farce this year than ever before. Offside was the one thing we were told VAR would get correct.
They need to re-ref the incidents rather than this clear and obvious mistake idea which leads to mass inconsistency. They are brave enough in rugby to let the TMO re-ref incidents, football should toughen up and stop being to sensitive to accepting referees are human and make mistakes.

2nd September 2023 at 7:34 pm #209148And here’s a reason given to me on not to turn my back on Top Flight Football.
What’s not to like about Brighton? The Ferguson kid has been immense π

2nd September 2023 at 7:38 pm #209149Yeah Chucks I actually do get that mate from the point of view you make.
He is still positioned in front of goal. Do you remember years back when Hernan Crespo was tying his shoelaces but was in an offside position – so-called?
Another perspective one can argue is that a player now could plant this then pretend to move out of the way. It would be a decoy in favour.
So yes, we need black and white in this.
Lol, told you I would change my mind, or sort of have done π

2nd September 2023 at 7:44 pm #209150Wholeheartedly agree Alfie on your second paragraph. Technology honestly can really help, but it’s the persons operating it and thereafter putting on their own interpretation of events.
It’s skewed common sense or the rules as we originally know it.
We need a little step back and reinforcement of the rule explicitly delivered by the Officials as a statement.
That way, everybody knows where they stand.

2nd September 2023 at 7:50 pm #209151Sheffield United goal rightly stood. No clean sheet for you Adlab!

2nd September 2023 at 8:38 pm #209154Just watched Ake goal again. I can see why they allowed it when looking from different angles but imo that must be offside surely as was Sheffield United goal last week. Utterly nonsensical. That’s our VAR decision for the season π

2nd September 2023 at 8:42 pm #209155This and the stupid handball rule must be changed. Eg United pen in the cup final.
I hate this constant attempt by players trying to get penalties for nothing._____________________________

2nd September 2023 at 9:05 pm #209156There is a history of irony in this; admittedly to go back to argue the point of Liverpool. I well remember them out of their depth at Selhurst Park 1992 seeing John Barnes overwhelmed by the Presence of John Fashanu; supposedly a perceived silhouette. I liked Fash for being happy-go-lucky-mild, whilst able in standing his ground when needed.
The point being here is that there would or shouldn’t Ultimately be any favouritism towards the so-called favourable team when making Refereeing Decisions.
Rodri some time back DID Handball versus Everton and he was GUILTY. The Officials BAILED. Their Accountability because one could argue that prevented Liverpool winning the League. This is Man United again ALL IN BLUE. So at times from my point of view, it’s not to a degree a blessing, but SLOW PAIN in EXPERIENCE.

2nd September 2023 at 9:08 pm #209157And yes, Liverpool in the 80s I feel did to a degree bully officials in order to get their own way, for granted.

2nd September 2023 at 9:23 pm #209158Agreed to a large extent. The top teams frighten some officials. Its been the case since I’ve been watching since 1955.

2nd September 2023 at 10:06 pm #209159Rodri Handballed and cheated; lose Respect for him in slight. Hand on Heart; wouldn’t want to change what I went through with Manchester United.

2nd September 2023 at 10:09 pm #209160They Ultimately Ruined my Life. In fact both Manchester Clubs have done, and by now, Liverpool should have been blessed with 20/21 Top Flight TITLES.

3rd September 2023 at 7:51 am #209162Why was the city goal given?
Lucky, you look at Chelseaβs side ydsy and itβs just lacks a real threat going forward? Who can come in there now to make a difference? Palmer? Nkunku is a huge miss ad he be perfect behind Jackson.
Mudyrk doesnβt suit that formation and has just being so disappointing.
Some great goals by spurs and was only thinking why son hadnβt being played through the middle.
Really tough game for us today and the mistakes have to stop
