None of Arsenal, Chelsea or Utd have won any of their last 3 games. WTF.

28th April 2019 at 7:39 pm #39137Mak, to be fair Chelsea’s last 3 PL games have been Liverpool away , Burnley at home and United away. Pleased we’re still in it though didn’t look like we would be a few weeks back.

28th April 2019 at 7:45 pm #39138Mav, 2 PL titles, 1 FA Cup, 1 League Cup and 1 Europa League the vast majority of players would like to have wasted their careers like Hazard has.?

28th April 2019 at 7:51 pm #39139I think Nine raised a valid point about Super Managers and Coaching.
You need stability, but essentially some sort of a structure to work from.
It doesn’t help though with every so often Managerial changes, although I do empathise with Arsenal and especially Unai Emery. Unless both the board and supporters have the patience, time unfortunately isn’t on your side.
You have to be very shrewd, knowledge with a good network to be able to secure good business in a transfer window and the reality right now is that one window is simply not enough to spark a rebuilding process.
It took Klopp a fair bit of work to clear out clutter from our Squad. You have to allow time.
Immense pressure from the Media industry certainly doesn’t help.

28th April 2019 at 8:20 pm #39143Chelsea have been poor this season but have got to a Cup Final, are still fighting for 4th place and are in the Semi Finals of the Europa League.
We could be half useful if we manage to sort ourselves out.?

28th April 2019 at 8:30 pm #39149AnonymousSomeone mentioned that Spurs were lucky to be in 3rd, I’d say they have been anything but lucky with the injuries this season. We haven’t played our strongest first X1 more than 2 or 3 times if that’s lucky I’d hate to have an unlucky season. It seems rather easy to have a pop at Spurs to cover up the shortcomings of their own team, flattery and all that !!!

28th April 2019 at 8:39 pm #39150Cityboy, I’ve let the handbrake go a bit in exasperation and all the emotions with it during a game or after it, but, one of the best Races ever from my POV and there’s a possibility of taking it to the final game which you couldn’t ask for anymore.
Cheers

28th April 2019 at 8:41 pm #39152tba, Super Stadium, CL Semi Final perhaps better, and 3rd place, you Spuds would have gladly taken that at the beginning of the season as would most others. Chill and enjoy it all buddie.?

28th April 2019 at 8:45 pm #39154Come on TBA. No need to be so defensive. 12 losses is not the sort of form you’d expect from a side in 3rd. The three below you have all been terrible and all have managers who have been at their clubs less than a season and are only just behind you. Certainly no attempt at covering up the shortcomings of my own team. We’ve been rubbish! If you think that’s harsh and having a “pop” at Spurs, you’d struggle being a Utd fan with the stick we get!

28th April 2019 at 8:49 pm #39155Tottenham to be fair to them is a bit of an indifferent being the team with the least amount of draws (1).
On either side, 23 wins, and l2 defeats. The Table is The Table. They hold a great deal of credence being in a Champions League Semi and could go all the way, so that’s something to take into account.
What I was alluding to in relation to these particular stats to add on to Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs is that they are average and not really representing merit in consistency and a Stature of a TOP 4.
Sure, it’s easy now for me to sing this tune. Liverpool not so long ago were no different.
Scraping the Top 4 means in Europe against the Elite, you are simply founded out and you’d be annihilated by the very best in Pure Footballing Quality.

28th April 2019 at 8:49 pm #39156Spurs have been good this season and should progress to the final of the CL. That’s a massive achievement and they might just win it. My point is that they should be way ahead of the dross below them and should count themselves lucky those 3 have all hit an awful patch at the same time.

28th April 2019 at 8:54 pm #39157Haha, being light-hearted, it’s lost 13 that springs to my mind lol. Used to make a point of it in School when Souness was in charge of us.
Never mind Top 4, we were sliding down!! Souness tried to build us into some sort of a ‘hard man’ team and the final straw’s probably relate to our exit against Spartak Moscow in the Uefa Cup and those 2 Everton goals from Mark Ward and Tony Cottee at Goodison when Grobbelaar and Steve McManaman at one moment were at each other’s throats 😀 🙂

28th April 2019 at 9:01 pm #39159Lets not get too carried away last season Liverpool finished 4th on 75 points this season with two games left Chelsea could end up on 74 points.
This season is an exceptional title race and I wonder if we will see it’s like again but you can’t judge the 4 chasing teams 3 of which have completely new Managers two of which have had no experience of the PL at all by this season’s title race.
If any or all of those chasing teams retain the players they want to retain and spend £250m on transfers things might look slightly different next season.
