What are you talking about Silly-Willy-Nilly? I am very well aware the Goonies are in the race for forth, I just don’t understand Mackie’s logic about how Palace beating Goonies benefits LinoPool because YooUtd are playing City…

21st April 2019 at 7:33 pm #38484Chuckster,
sure Arsenal’s result doesn’t have bearing on Liverpool at all, but I’m guessing Mak’s thinking behind it given United’s defeat today is that there is still that incentive to go for top 4, even 3rd.
As it stands:
3rd Spurs 67 PTS
4th Arsenal 66 PTS
5th Chelsea 66 PTS
6th Man United 65 PTSAll these teams have 4 games to play and naturally one of these will miss out. As there isn’t that much in points difference between these teams, there’s an opportunity presented to cement points. To a degree too, you are looking over your shoulder as positions can change quite easily on a game-by-game basis.
As a Liverpool supporter myself, I would take this as an added incentive and a reason United will try that little harder to try and win or avoid defeat entirely.

21st April 2019 at 8:01 pm #38488So did you see the 61 double side Chuck’s?
Ajax play lovely football but Spurs are no slouches in that area too and Spurs I think are physically stronger. I think they may narrowly edge it.
I’m a bit worried that our only London team to win the CL record might be under pressure.?

Really don’t know to be honest… we could, on our day, but they’re no slouches either… I guess this is why we play the game!

21st April 2019 at 8:58 pm #38490A simple yes or no would have confirmed it either way. Lol.
I wouldn’t have put you as that old.?
You’re right though you never know in Cup football but I wouldn’t bet against Spurs getting to the Final.

21st April 2019 at 11:04 pm #38492In pleasure, just watched MOTD 2 Highlights of the Cardiff-Liverpool game.
On more than one occasion, Morrison grabs and if anything ‘hugs’ Mo Salah. ‘Disclaimer’ in conspiracy, it looks like Warnock’s instructed Morrison to behave like this on Salah, so if Salah goes down, he can be classed as a ‘Diver’,
And so if that was the case, Warnock’s own ‘ploy’ has backfired on him as Martin Atkinson rightfully awarded the Spot Kick. 70 or not in age, he’ll never change and he can simply JOG ON back to the Championship and lower leagues where he belongs.
I was sync in cheer of Gini’s Strike – just a lovely Easter Sunday moment and the way he swung that reminded me of John Barnes’s equalizer from a cross when Liverpool played Blackburn on the final day of the season 1995 when Sky Sports exclusively had the Split-Screen showing.
Meanwhile noticed, in Trent’s game being a little out of touch and Robertson on the other flank has made that known to him. As much as Matip being first class today, he’s just a very placid character. I don’t really see him mix-up with Van Dijk, vocally.
Allison, I really like – just very calm and another placid character in general, but he needs that vocal communication from his defenders. Maybe this is something Klopp might have picked up and will look to improve or develop.
We mustered today with class the Home supporters stick and we showed most notably, class of a Championship Winning Outfit.
A Club record of 88 points set – effectively criminal with this amount of points and only 1 defeat, we could narrowly lose out to Man City.
We can only hope.

21st April 2019 at 11:16 pm #38498AnonymousYou gossiping little feckers! π
Nil, Warnock is the biggest asshole ever. He was berating the officials again today. he’s just a rude piece of smeg. I’m forgetting about him though, hope he enjoys the Championship (again).
As for our 88 points, pretty insane alright. It would be criminal if we missed out on it alright but I have a feeling that we won’t. I go on and on about pressure on City. Liverpool have wobbled under the same pressure, so I’m not saying that they cant take it but we can. It’s hard to lead!
I’m going to make a prediction. I am predicting that City wobble at least once in their remaining 4 matches. That’s not to say that we will necessarily take the title because who knows, maybe we will also. We have shown a marked increase in anxiety in some matches after City have dropped points this season. We struggle to take advantage… but not as bad as before.
So maybe you might be underwhelmed by my prediction but there it is.

Can’t believe MOTD is saying that it wasn’t a penalty. How was that not a penalty?

21st April 2019 at 11:33 pm #38502Mak, itβs a psychological battle now. It would be a good call for both sides to use their squads in the run in because the other players, particularly the younger ones donβt feel the pressure as much. Remember when Fergie threw on a young Macheda against Villa when Liverpool and Utd were going for the title in 2009 and scored? Thatβs why it was a good call from Pep to play Foden vs Spurs. Similarly he might not be as young but if Ox is fit soon, could be a good call to throw him on because heβll be itching to play and wonβt feel the pressure in the same way others will.
