And not single mention of the 100% nailed on deliberate handball penalty denied by the City player today…. interesting… at the very least I reckon they can stop bloody whining about Fernando’s hipball now… perhaps I should go a googling and post 58 thousand videos about it… ๐

20th April 2019 at 5:49 pm #38301That’s next season puppy, cheated my boys out of a very probable point today… we’re in a race for CL places so just a little but important…

20th April 2019 at 5:54 pm #38303Couldn’t disagree mate but that’s human error and I guess why we are moving to VAR next season.

20th April 2019 at 6:00 pm #38304Sean why bother watching football if you’re so sure on the outcome?
Actually I know why you’re being so negative, its self preservation against disappointment. Don’t like or agree with it however.

20th April 2019 at 6:01 pm #38306Defo pen for me at today’s City Spurs game. Ref seemed to have a good view so not sure why it wasn’t given.
Shouldn’t need VAR for such obvious situations.

20th April 2019 at 6:27 pm #38312Anonymous“Adlab our only realistic hope would be Manchester United.
Otherwise, the Title is effectively yours. ”
I don’t even agree with this. Look, I was no beacon of light when we threw away the 7 point lead. I agree that Spurs and Utd are our best chance at reeling them in, under a hypothetical (yet far from assumed) situation where we play well and win all our games, of course.
I am going to say something that I know I may contradict in some way in the future but, as long as we keep winning, it ain’t over til it’s over.
Liverpool REFUSING to go away has City nervous. They have another 3 points today but there is now solid evidence that we’re getting to them. So, the best thing we can do is just keep doing that. There may not be many games left but the pressure is getting to them, so have as much faith as you can afford yourself without imploding because we may be on the verge of the most special time for you as a fan , for decades.
It might not happen but we’re doing our best to make it so! We still have a shot at the CL also. It’s been an increasable season of ups and down for myself. It’s been hard to take some of the draws and we’ve even had spells where the results were BARELY coming but it’s all added up to a potential 97 point finish. We’re still on for the BIG double. Of course we’ve got to win tomorrow, or it truly is over but that’s high stakes football for you.

20th April 2019 at 6:39 pm #383143ps and Mak, have to wait and see Gents how United fare at Everton tomorrow.
Although we could well get to the stage where the Title would be decided on the last day, it now seems Old Trafford realistically is the only place City could falter.
Fortunately from our point of view, from 3 outcomes, we’d be good for defeat or draw.
A defeat would be superb for us as if we could bump up our goal difference in the next 2 games, then we could even afford to draw one game providing City don’t start their own scoring frenzy.
It made me think though back in the early 90s when Liverpool were in a slump and rebuilding, I still looked forward to United at Anfield. At the very least, you’d be playing for pride.

20th April 2019 at 7:28 pm #38321Well, Saints gave it a go to be fair, Newcastle did well to fend off any hope of a draw by adding a 3rd and securing all 3 points. Well Done to them.
Rafa, just seeing these scenes on tv is just one hell of a presence and a good likeable guy.
It’s clear the fans want to stick with him. I really hope he gets some funds in the kitty in the summer to buy players. I see the Magpies as a Club that could be ambitious enough to chase a Europa Cup place and be on par with the ilk of Leicester/Watford/West Ham/Wolves.

20th April 2019 at 11:53 pm #38352AnonymousNewcastle being all but safe is good for us. City play Utd in 4 days, so the game in hand is out of the way for good there. I just hope we’re still in it by then.
The bookies odds will do down for us with each City win. I won’t be putting any money down though.

21st April 2019 at 12:51 am #38353Sadly its a very safe bet Mak, city wont drop point again this season. When you think about it Sean was on the money, as soon as they were in front we picked up our game, unfortunately all for nothing as they did as well.

21st April 2019 at 1:52 am #38354Aussie, there is a psychological factor at play here though as Mak has alluded to above. Going into every game knowing you *have* to win, no matter who you are, no matter who itโs against, does take its toll (and that obviously applies to both sides). Anything could still happen and football games arenโt always won on paper. Even if Liverpool drew tomorrow, itโs not game over. In the 2012 season (when City won it on the last day) Man Utd were 5 points clear with 4 games to go. Psychology affects everyone, even the best. I actually think both sides may trip up in the run in. Itโs a question of who trips up more.

21st April 2019 at 3:22 am #38355Mikus they have been there before bro, we are far more likely to slip up again. Iโve literally got no expectations of winning the EPL. The only thing that irks me is how close we got AGAIN, itโs almost like we are cursed not to win the EPL. Whenever we go close itโs always next year we only have to fix x,y & z then we will be right. Always next year, next year. I said in December we wouldnโt win despite being ahead by a good margin, I just knew they have to deep a squad. KDB goes off injured & they bring on Fernandinho, I mean seriously how do you compete. Well I suppose we have competed but we just canโt get there.
Different in the C/L, the ball is in our court & I think we can get at them if our D holds firm.
Anyway mate, hereโs hoping your right & Iโm way off, Iโd love to finally break that EPL curse._____________________________

21st April 2019 at 9:34 am #38358Oz,
even if we were to miss out narrowly, there is so much to take from this season and we’re only going to get stronger. There is so much togetherness from the guys especially the younger ones and they are here to stay, as with Klopp.
I’m confident next season will pretty much be the same going toe-to-toe with Man City and I have to say I can’t really see anyone touching us.
We do need to strengthen though and sell our fringe players like Sturridge.

21st April 2019 at 9:35 am #38359Listen chaps its an easy three points for Liverpool today and I reckon Utd will be doing their darndest to stop us. If I was a Liverpool fan I would be optimistic.
Anyhow easy three points today!_____________________________

21st April 2019 at 10:15 am #38361AnonymousNo matter how people feel about it (rightly or wrongly), it is definitely not over. Not until we throw away points in one of the following 4 games of course. You can say how you feel all day long but the fact is, we’re still in with a chance until we drop points, or the season ends. They are facts.
As for the “next years is our year” thing, ya that is very much a thing with us but come on, we might get 97 points! If that happens, it is not our failing that has lost us the title, it’s the fact that there is another team that’s even more INCREDIBLE than us.
97 points is almost off the scale and I think would make us PL champions in all but City’s record setting season?
We’re freakishly good, they are just even freakier man.
I’m not giving up on the PL until we drop points. I won’t shout abuse at you for not doing the same but I implore you to soak it all in because if we keep on winning, City might slip up and it’s ours then.
You don’t have to have faith, just make sure to leave a gap between your fingers, so you see it happening is all ๐
Talking about pressure then (that City feel too), I’m shitting it that we’ll drop points today. This is how it goes man!

21st April 2019 at 11:04 am #38362I thought Newcastle Away could be tricky, but having seen yesterday’s game in spite of their win, Southampton had more possession and chances of their own.
This is our penultimate Away game and we need to make a statement this afternoon.
A clean sheet is a must and hopefully, a professional performance and lots of goals for us. A 4-6 nil victory would state “WE ARE NOT GOING AWAY”.
What ever happens on Wednesday Night, the chances are, they’ll be more tired legs and City have yet another away travel to Burnley who mathematically still aren’t safe.
Leicester at home could be tricky too as Brendan Rodgers I’m sure would want to help us, plus the back door Europa place.
The relentless 10 game winning streak is scary though, so I do get Oz’s point, but this only requires one slip up and surely we have to remain in belief and hope it will come from somewhere. Maybe Chris Hughton’s Brighton too on the last day.
