There’s a bottom v top this weekend but the stand out games are City v Spurs and Everton v United. Could be an interesting weekend.

18th April 2019 at 3:31 pm #38032A big strength of this City side is that youβre damned if you try and contain them, and damned if you have a go at them. Remember, City still won the game last night, just not by enough. Be fascinating to see how both managers play it. Spurs need to win too remember! The contrasting emotions in the heads of both sets of players, whether good or bad, could detrimentally effect both of them. Whoever stays the most focussed wins for me.

18th April 2019 at 8:14 pm #38069Hope Tottenham can help us, if not, for themselves.
They really don’t want to be plummeting as 3 other teams below are on their heels. Those teams understandably will hope Man City can help them.
I’d be delighted with a draw, personally.

20th April 2019 at 11:40 am #38250Spurs make 5 changes, City 3. Still canβt quite work out what will happen today which could point to a draw. Itβs a question of who best recovers from the emotion of the other night (even good emotion from Spurs point of view).

20th April 2019 at 12:02 pm #38252I actually think Spurs have the more stronger line up.
No Fernandino, and Foden has been added in. Zinchenko, Stones, LaPorte, and Walker play in defence, no Mendy.
I think this is a defence Spurs can expose and they have to go for it as far as trying to consolidate a CL place goes.

20th April 2019 at 1:05 pm #38262city will win this 3 or 4 zip, our only hope is manu but they will go down 1-2. As Sean said many moons ago as soon as itβs out of our hands itβs over, city will not give us another chance, esp now there is no more C/L.
I say all out for the C/L, I think we can get at their backline & if our D remains tight, which I think it can, we are a good chance over 2 legs.
Iβm not saying forget the EPL but if it came down to resting players etc do it there, at least the C/L is in our hands._____________________________

20th April 2019 at 1:12 pm #38264Fair play to the response of City. But not convinced this game is over just yet.

20th April 2019 at 1:14 pm #38265Oz, there is still time, but I had a similar incline of thought; now that City are out of the CL, they’ll be even more precious to hold on to the PL. There is still hope with the Man U game.
I’d be happy if at the very least we take this to the last day.
Our chance meanwhile is to enhance our Goal Difference and both Cardiff and Huddersfield are the perfect opposition.

20th April 2019 at 1:21 pm #38267Despite a goal down, I’m actually more than encouraged in how Spurs have responded.
There has been chances make no mistake and it’s unfortunate for them they aren’t level as a result.
Until City don’t get the second, there’s always a chance and I can smell some sort of a way back.
I’m sure Pep himself has picked up on this. Credit in particular to Son who is really having a go. 1-0 up but far from convincing inspite of Spurs being caught out early doors.

20th April 2019 at 1:30 pm #38270Itβs probably a tough call for Pep this at half time. For all the domination, the game is still delicately poised. Does he still go for it or ease back a bit? More careful managed attacks/counter attacks would probably be more sensible.

20th April 2019 at 1:40 pm #38273Nil id be happy to just grab the points in those games. Still a chance but a very very slim one, city wonβt let this go. As I said the C/L is in our hands.
