17th April 2023 at 9:24 pm #206293Look at the amount of times you have a man over playing like this.I know it’s Leeds but I’m talking about the structure. So hard to manage the wide area’s and the two high central players that support the striker at same time. As long as you can keep moving the ball the man over will appear it was same for City vs Munich.

17th April 2023 at 9:25 pm #206294Will get the best of Jota and Diaz if they share that wide left spot between them. Will have tons of space and chances to take people on one on one. Same for salah the other side.
Will just take time to get used to new system

17th April 2023 at 9:28 pm #206295This season, when we’re good, we’re very good. If we could have just spread all that was good in those handful of performances over more games, we’d at least have had a good shot at top 4.

17th April 2023 at 9:29 pm #206296Lucky sound observation mate if this is what Liverpool’s intent has been.
The obvious drawback is ‘a’ man short.
Now how this will come across when we concede is blame on a particular player.

17th April 2023 at 9:30 pm #206297I wouldnt mind us trying something similar at Chelsea. Maybe James joins kante in DM positions like trent and stones do and enzo can play higher in similar position to hendo today or where KDB plays when city play this system.

17th April 2023 at 9:38 pm #206301Nil you always have a base of 5 players if you lose the ball ( 3 at back and fabinho and trent at base of midfield) not only are you getting these overloads going forward but you are more secure against counter attacks than when you would play the 433 that had both trent and Robertson bombing forward and leaving you often with just the 2 centre backs and fabinho as immediate cover against counters.
The whole point of that long ass post/thread I just created was that formations are not arbitrary, there is a reason city and arsenal attack in the structure they do and why klopp is looking to follow suit.

17th April 2023 at 9:52 pm #206302The rotation on each flank is impressive. It is constant without breaking the overall structure. So hard to track your man playing against this.

17th April 2023 at 9:55 pm #206304Could we have another PL sacking? 😁 Leeds lose 5-1 then 6-1 at home in consecutive games.

17th April 2023 at 9:55 pm #206305Yeah Sean Leeds always allow for more open games.
Can’t get carried away of course but I’d take a lot from the way you are setting up mate and it’s very positive imo.

17th April 2023 at 10:01 pm #206307Lucky appreciate it mate on the observation. Need to see more games to make head and tail of it all. When television draw out the formations, they always ‘pronounce’ a 4-3-3.

17th April 2023 at 10:03 pm #206308Nil you can only beat what’s in front of you mate and imo it doesn’t matter how poor Leeds are, pool played very well and I am glad you enjoyed it bud 👍

17th April 2023 at 10:05 pm #206309What made Leeds go for Gracia? You’d have thought they’d bring in someone with a lot more league experience after Marsch.

17th April 2023 at 10:08 pm #206310Nil its one formation in possession and another out of possession.
You certainly were 433 when you didn’t have the ball but you were 3223 when you had it. There was plenty of rotation within that 3223 shape but the structure was always there. Didn’t you notice that trent went in to make a midfield pair with fabinho when you had the ball with Robertson staying back more to create a back 3?
It’s hard to notice with so much rotation of players in wide area’s but the structure when in possession was always 3223 (or 3241/325 whatever we want to call it)

17th April 2023 at 10:08 pm #206311Mikus, I think clubs are, much more than previously, deciding to change managers quite suddenly without much of a succession plan in mind. Leeds, Leicester, Chelsea all spring to mind as simply deciding to get rid of a manager without really knowing what to do next and all have arguably regretted it ever since.
