Sean, Bullseye mate on Pep. I know Jurgen in his early days did this when he first joined Liverpool, but I don’t see hardly any of it from his current group of players.
Pep has reinvented John Stones and found him a new fit. He’s getting the best out of him and 50 million not down the drain.
We should be considering doing this with Trent in moving him to midfield. Pep is utilizing the depth of his squad better than ever and he uses his players wisely making sure they don’t play too many minutes.

17th April 2023 at 2:31 pm #206249Arsenal do remind me of us of 18/19. They been fascinating to see compete with Man City. The Friday Night game for example reminds me of when we were playing Friday Nights. In the end only 1 point separated us and effectively a photo finish, but one race that I look back on with proudness.

17th April 2023 at 2:58 pm #206250He will frustrate utd fans as much as opposition fans at times I think but his talent is clear.
100% this, Lucky. I’ve seen a few say about Bruno that when he’s good, he’s excellent but when he’s bad he’s awful. That pretty much sums him up. Here’s a stat though from yesterday:
Since joining Utd, Bruno has won more MOTM awards than any other player in the league. That arguably says as much about the rest of Utd’s squad as it does about him but it’s impressive nonetheless.

17th April 2023 at 6:32 pm #206253On Bruno, it’s an absolute travesty that Bentancur and Hojbjerg from Spurs have been nominated for the PL team of the season and Bruno hasn’t. Only De Bruyne has created more chances than Bruno this season.

17th April 2023 at 6:33 pm #206254Re : Nike at 2:12pm
Just found this
Brighton received their first PGMOL apology after referee David Coote and VAR Neil Swarbrick failed to send off Fabinho for a bad tackle on Evan Ferguson during January’s FA Cup fourth round win over Liverpool.
The second came when Pervis Estupinan saw a goal incorrectly disallowed in their 1-1 Premier League draw at Crystal Palace after VAR drew the offside lines in the wrong place on replays.
So that’s a potential six points they’ve been stung for.
Thanks Ed for the explanation π

17th April 2023 at 6:34 pm #206255Kepa being in as a GK and no De Gea is another one. Most clean sheets in the league this season and not even nominated?!

17th April 2023 at 7:00 pm #206263PPT, whilst it is refreshingly encouraging for the game that time has been taken to revisit, explore and evaluate with a corrective, the team that at the time subject to being penalized should be compensated with points.
I don’t know whether is 3 points for every mistake acknowledge or whether points are handed once there’s an accumulation, e.g. from 3. It shouldn’t really come to that many mistakes.

17th April 2023 at 8:13 pm #206278Leeds look the the more brighter team with the first 10 mins in. I’m just not seeing us getting a foothold and putting together some passes at the moment.
Looks lagged, dysfunctional and a quick fix long ball.

17th April 2023 at 8:20 pm #206279Its Peps system, the one I was talking about in the other thread.
Attack with back 3 defend with back 4.
Salah and Robertson hugging touchline to stretch back line. Ideally need someone high and central with threat in behind too so that as well as getting stretched by wingers the opposing back line is also forced deeper.
The midfield box is clear too, fabinho and trent at base, Henderson and Curtis Jones at top?

17th April 2023 at 8:27 pm #206281It’s not quite peps system but something similar and a little confusing.
Trent definitely moving in to base of midfield with fabinho, not getting great view of pools left hand side but looks like its Robertson staying back more often to keep a back 3 and Jota playing wide left?

17th April 2023 at 8:39 pm #206284It’s definitely same formation as city. 433 off the ball and 3241 on the ball.
Variations in style when on the ball, for City grealish and mahrez are always the ones hugging touchline but so far today it seems Jota and Jones interchange on left and Hendo and salah interchange on right. A lot more rotation in where each player plays than when city seem to do it but when pool rotate the players around today the in possession structure always seems to stay as 3241.

17th April 2023 at 9:01 pm #206288Lucky, I’m not seeing what you are seeing my mate. Hope you are right though and I hope we are playing that formation. Noticing Curtis Jones working hard and has played well. Fabinho is looking more like a Pensioner meanwhile; making Henderson younger!
Sean, yeah that was Handball by Trent. We’re lucky!
