Nil, this is the problem with Wembley renting their ground to the club’s Spurs have a definite advantage in the Semi Final and the Final should they get there as will Chelsea under the same circumstances.

18th March 2018 at 9:14 pm #18388Nine, biggest blunder in them ripping those Twin Towers apart.
It’s sheer greed and they’re just wanting to enlist more city workers of the capital to dig into their wallets. That just doesn’t seem right to me in relation to Spurs playing, or any team playing a Semi at Wembley.
Traditionally, these semis were played at Old Trafford and Villa Park.
Just enjoy and go for it though mate.
I think Pedro should start haha π π

18th March 2018 at 9:16 pm #18389AnonymousDon’t know what game these people watched but Hazard had a nightmare today. Kante was the best player on the field. Both keepers were also suspect not that Courtious is much better. Some of the passing from both sides was 5th rate stuff.

18th March 2018 at 9:20 pm #18392Loved the Chelsea Semi Finals at Villa Park mate but that’s all gone now the FA need the revenue to pay for the costs of building the new Wembley.
I really hope Chelsea take Twickenham as their temporary home but I don’t think it’s possible because of the RFU and Residents. So it looks like Wembley for us too from 2019/20.

18th March 2018 at 9:33 pm #18395Nine, yeah mate, was fortunate to visit Villa Park years ago – a great traditional ground.
Ah right, I don’t know anything about Twickenham.
Loved your guys old shed end from the TV screens and when it was sort of in the process of renovation in the early 90s. Seen a few games from you tube, and brought back memories in young Gavin Peacock π

18th March 2018 at 10:10 pm #18396I stood in the Shed mate in my younger days funny little Stand.
Twickenham geographically is on the West side of London and much more convenient for Chelsea fans but the RFU seem happy to hire it out to the Stones but don’t want to hand it over for 3 seasons of football plus the Twickenham residents don’t want it so it looks like Wembley for Chelsea too.
The Holt End at Villa Park full of Chelsea fans great memiries.?

18th March 2018 at 10:19 pm #18397AnonymousI think Twickenham can only hold a certain number of matches/events per year following an agreement with local residents.

19th March 2018 at 9:35 am #18408Would you really want Twickenham or Wembley – be a poor atmosphere if they are only half full?
I was in Twickenham on Saturday and whilst itβs massive the seats are so cramped – even the expensive ones. Better atmosphere than Wembley though as you feel closer to the pitch.
Pity the local residents block its use, but itβs understandable when you see the chaos and road closures.

19th March 2018 at 10:01 am #18411Beni, I don’t think either Twickenham or Wembley are ideal but geographically Twickenham is much better for the majority of Chelsea fans.
It wont happen though the RFU have already turned it down and there’s been a residents campaign against it led by the MP and Vince Cable.
I was born and bred in Twickenham so I can understand the residence negativity to it.

19th March 2018 at 8:15 pm #18447AnonymousNil and there’s me remembering everybody laughing and taking the piss out of Spurs when we couldn’t buy a win or a draw at Wembley .
9 could be Chelsea next season if you get to the Semi ._____________________________

19th March 2018 at 8:29 pm #18449TBA, exactly what I said elsewhere this morning mate. “The FA need the money to pay for the Stadium and Spurs will have a definite advantage in both the Semi Final and Final should they make it.
It would potentially hamper Chelsea going forwards but I don’t think the FA should be allowing Wembley to be used by club sides.” Cheers 999

19th March 2018 at 8:40 pm #18450Anonymous9, not disagreeing, but if we were still losing loads of games at Wembley, would people still complain.

19th March 2018 at 9:21 pm #18451TBA, imo it doesn’t matter either way mate the top clubs who are likely to be competing in Semi Finals and Finals should not be allowed to use Wembley as their home ground it gives them an unfair advantage whether it be Spurs or Chelsea it’s plain wrong for either of them to be playing their home games at the National Stadium and then playing Semi Finals and Finals at Wembley with the advantage that gives them. It’s as bonkers as Bayern playing a CL Final in the Allianz.
Imo the United v Spurs game should be switched to a neutral venue and if Spurs reach the Final it should be switched to the Millennium Stadium. And the same should apply to Chelsea going forwards too
It won’t happen though.
