Can’t believe what game I’ve seen so far; Brighton seem to have had a lot of the ball.

17th March 2018 at 9:27 pm #18288🙂 Well profited by some pence through cat and mouse of online betting – love the ‘cash out’ facility and odds generously offered thinking the score would remain at 1-0. Banked it, with a small stake just in case, United do find the net.
No loss for me, all round – jeeez lol, Russian baby roulette 😛

18th March 2018 at 8:07 pm #18377Finally in the warmth after freezing myself off for a 120 minutes!
I have to say first off, I was disappointed with Chelsea’s quality of football today on the pitch. You can see clearly how energetic Eden Hazard is and he holds the rest of those players like glue.
Victor Moses, lazy, and casual and best on the wing. Morata delivered a superb finish, but he is too featherweight for my liking against a physical and a gritty outfit like Leicester.
I think both sets of formations clashed as far as the midfield went, so Chelsea in the first half in majority were just playing for the wide areas in Moses, and then trying to set Hazard free down the other flank. It was only on the counter did Willian burst through the centre and threaded a beautiful ball into the path of Morata. One guy at the back I do rate highly is Marcos Alonso; he holds the back line well with Azpilicueta.
Chelsea very much allowed Leicester to grow in the second-half, and the home side’s grit and determination paid off with Vardy’s snatch shot. The Foxes are pain to watch. All they were doing is playing side to side and Vardy didn’t even see the ball in the first half, it’s more hopeless than hopeful.
Pedro was a big difference for the Blues when he came later on. He is driven in pace and his persistence paid off with a header effectively out of no where.
I have to say the Referee was a poor show. The fact that he only awarded 1 minute of injury time during the second period of extra time summed his display up perfectly.
Kudos to the Chelsea fans. I must say in my heart I enjoyed Morata’s finish and the way their fans cheered and celebrated at the away end.
Super cold temperatures and Conte will I’m sure be thankful his side are in the Semis.

18th March 2018 at 8:07 pm #18378Would have wanted a big tie to brighten our season. probably Spurs since i got a few Spurs colleagues in the same work station. that one would have been fantastic. but Southampton isn’t that bad.

18th March 2018 at 8:09 pm #18379Tottenham deserve a Cup Final appearance in my view – hope they make it. From a fanatical POV, they need to nail a trophy like an FA Cup because it’s been to much of a wait and they are for me a quality outfit, but underachieving.

The most inform team in the league at the minute. its difficult to find any fault in their game. Eriksen, Alli, Son, Kane Vetoghen, they are a great team. and Pochettino is one of the best young managers. fair play to them

18th March 2018 at 8:31 pm #18381Hazard enegrtic? Not today Nil anything but imo.
The Barca game took it out of Chelsea whilst Leicester had a week to prepare and Chelsea had to dig deep today.
We’re not great at the moment and Morata is coming off a loss of form and injury and he’s had very little football since the New Year. For a player who has lost his confidence and been out injured he took his goal very well imo and the one that hit the bar would have been a candidate for goal of the Season.
Chelsea dug out a result with nothing in the tank after Barca away against a rested and well prepared and very decent Leicester team and now have a Wembley Semi Final to look forward to and maybe a consecutive FA Cup Final too v Spurs or United.
Best weekend for a while if you’re a Chelsea fan!?

18th March 2018 at 8:44 pm #18383Spurs v United is a difficult one to call it could go either way and Southampton will be no pushover either.
This is the FA Cup and anything could happen even a completely out of form Chelsea could win it!?

18th March 2018 at 8:57 pm #18385Nine,
Hazard was putting in a lot of ‘kilometers’ in the left-back area. He was very supportive too. I’m sure today he ran one whole length of the pitch, but unfortunately he didn’t get picked out when he was waiting at the far post on the right.
Yeah, I know what you mean mate.
Willian made the most of the space in the middle freed up and Morata got his perfect through ball.
Yeah, it wasn’t the prettiest of games to say the least, but Pedro’s header summed it up that a win was plucked out by Chelsea and of course, that’s taken them into the Semis.
Cheers
