In some ways I have great admiration for Alonso for not succumbing to temptation to take a bigger job if he perhaps doesn’t quite feel ready yet and/or has a very good environment at Leverkusen to keep developing things. Obviously disappointing for us. There’s also the problem you often have with the first manager following a long standing manager being a difficult challenge. On the other side of the coin I question how much further he can take Leverkusen if he wins it this season with them and they obviously won’t have the budget of the big CL clubs. But it’s obviously his prerogative.

Has to be Southgate or Gerrard in my opinion if not Alonso. Amorim would be interesting choice. I fancied him at Utd but it’s a if step up from the Portuguese league. Similar kind of pedigree to Ten Hag who found the transition difficult.

On Southgate to Utd, I was listening to a Utd pod on the Athletic this week and they were very much questioning the authenticity of those reports, which is usually a sign there’s nothing in them.

Some good games today. Good to have proper football back. No doubt I’ll be longing for the International break again after today’s games are finished 😁

On Southgate to Utd, I was listening to a Utd pod on the Athletic this week and they were very much questioning the authenticity of those reports, which is usually a sign there’s nothing in them.

Is it safe to say “that ETH will be getting his marching orders” at the end of the season
if you don’t get champs league football Ed?

Watching the West Ham game live atm and looking at Kudus (he’s been outstanding every time I seen him live) Howcome ETH didn’t buy him ? Yet spunks £85M on Anthony? Absolutely insane.

A few of my utd mates are becoming fed up of ETH after match analaysis.It’s as though he wasn’t at the game they were at? Anyone else noticed this?
