Ed 100m on 5 years is 20m per year(excluding wages)and nothing to a club of utds resources if it is to be spent on your main striker.
Financially speaking osimhen and kane are within utds reach and excellent options

4th April 2023 at 1:34 pm #205903I reckon you’d be looking at at least Β£150mil for Osimhen Lucky. Napoli have no need to sell and paid a fair amount to bring him there.

4th April 2023 at 1:37 pm #205904Kane would suit us perfectly (sorry Chucky) but his age worries me as we have a few top players now around the 30 mark.

4th April 2023 at 1:38 pm #205905Come on chaps, Sir Harry “Slugger” Kane is on his way up the M1… no way is he staying at the mess that is my Mighty Spuds… we’re going to end up with Brent Rogers if we’re lucky (although he might bring Maddison with him, which would soften the blow a little bit!) and have Hung-Min “Donkey” Son and Richarilson up top in a some sort of 4-3-3 hybrid mess…
I think the only positive about last night is I’m pretty sure Stellini has ruined what little chance he had of staying on past the end of the season…
I’m starting to think it’s time to bite the bullet and go for a proper re-build… get rid of whoever wants to go and put it all in the pot… plus (and I’m being glass half full here!) the new manager migth get a tune out of all the loanees we’ve got all over Europe… still some quality there, just a lack of consistancy!!

4th April 2023 at 1:47 pm #205906Totally agree Ed on kane being perfect option, there no doubt about that in my mind at least.
Osimhen due to price, injury record and lack of previous experience in prem league is certainly less appealing but damn is he good.
I would take either at Chelsea in a heart beat.

4th April 2023 at 2:07 pm #205909On Evan Ferguson Sean, what do you reckon to him as a fellow countryman? Too early to say or is he destined for big things? Keep hearing the Republic have a good crop coming through

4th April 2023 at 2:09 pm #205910You’ll be pleased to see this Lucky π. Have to say I’m quite pleased to read it too. I know what you think about De Zerbi having the right circumstances at Brighton to thrive but I do think he’s destined to be a special manager.
π¨ Chelsea not considering Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Roberto de Zerbi for vacancy. #CFC have highest respect for #BHAFC but wonβt be coming for another boss from there – 43yo Italianβs profile not what theyβre seeking & isnβt on list @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/7E2vlob3ji

4th April 2023 at 3:01 pm #205911We will see Ed, he is obviously very talented, most prem coaches are.
Special will take some proving and again I would give most of the credit for brightons continued progress to the recruitment. Players like mitoma coming in and not forgetting most of the Brighton players are naturally getting better over time due to their age and the competition they are facing week in week out.
Without all the intelligence and work that went in to the building, maintaining and rebuilding of the squad he inherited, none of this would have been possible, for him nor Potter prior.
That takes nothing away from de zerbi though because the progress would not have continued had he been anything less than a very good coach which he evidently is.
If you want to argue that he is doing better than Potter would have had he stayed and is a much better coach I won’t need to argue that I don’t care either way, what concerned me is the possibility of chelsea making the same mistake again in presuming Brightons consistent progress over performance is down chiefly to the guy in the dug out and that it could be replicated at a bigger scale just because the budget is bigger.
De zerbi has the best job in the world just like Potter did, low expectations relative to the quality of the squad and infrastructure. Its perfect until the club hits its ceiling and expectations change.
Wish him all the best and if he becomes one of the best in the world good for him π

4th April 2023 at 3:08 pm #205913Sean, I am sure he is high on our shortlist but we have a lot of business to take care of the other way before we can go all out for him or anyone close to his level.

4th April 2023 at 4:09 pm #205914Ed, I havenβt much of Ferguson. Seems to a real target man with no real pace to get in behind. I think pace is the major factor these days for forward players

4th April 2023 at 4:11 pm #205915Lucky as you said tonight we will see who is worse between our teams but Iβm expecting the usual response from a team that has just lost their manager.
Iβd drop taa, vvd and fabhino for tonight. Just canβt see us getting anything as we are that poor

4th April 2023 at 4:11 pm #205916Doesn’t this feel like falling into the same trap as Potter?
Chelsea are just wanting a quick fix and throwing money at it. No manager will last long unless they constantly deliver.

4th April 2023 at 4:16 pm #205917If the Jammy Dodgers don’t hire De Zebri this week, there’s always next week… I mean this season, there’s always next season… π
So, do I watch the game tonight or go and watch John Wick 4?

4th April 2023 at 7:06 pm #205918That Liverpool team shows we have given up on the season. Jota wide right never works.
Could be slaughtered tonight. Expecting a Limp away performance and defeat.
I still do think we will beat Arsenal sat though

4th April 2023 at 7:49 pm #205920Lucky, I’ll explain. At home we’re the 3rd best team in the league. Away from home we’re the 13th best team in the league.
