Can’t disagree with that Ed. But I would say I am surprised at how slapstick United’s defence looked. Lots of space for Palace when they did attack in the 2nd half. Mouriniho needs to somehow sort that out before the weekend as Liverpool are formidable going forward. Finally what on earth has Mouriniho done to Sanchez he was truly awful tonight?

5th March 2018 at 10:19 pm #17261Matic changed the entire dynamics because United were moments away from being held.
That would have placed them on 60 points level with Liverpool, but behind on goal difference. Jose would be think more about going offensively on Saturday which would suit us. We need the win more than them, but walking away with a point wouldn’t be too disappointing.

5th March 2018 at 10:25 pm #17262He was poor Jim. He’s too good a player to play like that for too long so I’m not concerned, though. He’ll come good. He just needs to settle into the side.

5th March 2018 at 11:17 pm #17266IMO Sanchez is finding his feet at the club like Miki. Probably will see glimpses this season, but need a pre season with their new sides. Very difficult to hit the ground running mid season as a new club. Same thing is happening to Coutinho at Barcelona.

6th March 2018 at 7:20 pm #17367I thought Sanchez would start banging in goals right away. I thought him and pogba were awful last night.
Jose won us that game with his subs.fantastic fight neck by utd. Didn’t fancy palace even at 2-0. That fight back was like the old utd
Fully expect Bailly and Shaw to come in sat. Jose always has a plan for us and can’t see us winning

6th March 2018 at 7:24 pm #17368Ed, utd didn’t give our front 3 a sniff in 3 Games since Jose came and I’m finding it hard to believe people think we will slaughter utd. We won’t beat them and it be no surprise if Firmino or mane get injured tonight. Maddness starting then
Jose always has a plan for us and usually ends up out smarting us

6th March 2018 at 8:01 pm #17371Sean. Uniteds fight back was more to do with really poor defending by Palace for the Smalling and Lukakus goals. It was abyssmal.

6th March 2018 at 9:15 pm #17384Jim, every single goal is due to a defensive mistake ?. If there were no defensive mistakes, there would be no goals. We were poor but there’s no denying the character needed to fight back from 2-0 down to win, more so when we’re not at the races.

6th March 2018 at 10:43 pm #17394Well yes Ed that is true to a degree. But the point I was making was the errors that led to Smalling’s goal when the Palace defender didn’t step up with he colleagues was just silly. And when Lukaku got the ball he took an age to control it while four Palace defenders bunched together in front of him froze with not one bothering to try and close him down. It was commical stuff really. Hodgson must be doing his nut at those errors. But you can only beat what’s in front of you.

6th March 2018 at 10:52 pm #17396Same can be said about Palace’s goals too. Townsend should have been closed down and the defenders should have been positioned better. The United defenders should have been more alert when Palace took a quick free kick for the 2nd.

6th March 2018 at 10:54 pm #17397They just lost any bravery they had when Lakaku was ‘teeing’ that shot up. It was as if he was destined to find the back of the net.

7th March 2018 at 10:16 am #17412“PSG had to be at their very best, but they were not.
“I am not sure Real Madrid were at their best, but they were 10 times better than they were against Tottenham.” Pat Nevin commenting on PSG v Real on 5 live.

7th March 2018 at 11:28 am #17416Anonymous999 – not sure what you’re trying to justify. i’ve now accepted that real madrid are absolute shite now and aren’t a patch on the team they were last year which is why spurs beat them. i’m questioning how bad PSG must be given they were outplayed against a team full of players that are past it. its unlikely madrid have improved as a team because all their players need replacing, so as i said, its a question of how shit PSG are.

7th March 2018 at 8:20 pm #17451Paxton, wasn’t that what Nevin was saying albeit a bit more diplomatically.
“PSG had to be at their best they were not, I’m not sure Real Madrid were at their best.”
