Brian-Your posting is nowhere near as bad as Seans, lol. As for money spent, its all about buying wisely, like Klopp has/is done/doing it @ Liverpool.I really dont care about other teams, but I dont want to see it done @ my club.

25th July 2020 at 5:59 pm #134329AnonymousMav, I guess for you then it’d be selling Pogba and signing a player who turned out to be better than you expected. Im not sure if just changing Ole is what’s needed there but ya I get you.

25th July 2020 at 8:27 pm #134364Maverick..that is just the point I was trying to make Klopp did buy wisely but he had MONEY to invest, the club did not take it, credit to them, however you will need more MONEY. and that is my point. Youngsters or economy buys will not make any club a challenger, NO, I am not saying Liverpool are at that stage but it is not easy for any teams with or without money in EPL and you need good management and a slice of luck to keep in top 4 thee days. It is only an opinion, thats all. I have no axe to grind with anyone or club, life is too short

25th July 2020 at 10:06 pm #134393AnonymousBrian, you don’t have to worry, we know what you mean man. Liverpool haven’t spent a lot net-wise but they have reinvested A LOT. In a way, we were lucky that we have a perfect money maker in Coutinho. That Barca were super super keen, coming back to us after we rejected 3 offers. There were some big transfers though that some other players helped pay for, thanks to Edwards, the bloody money magician.
You need capital, you need expertise and you need luck. You can probably get a good distance with any 2 of those 3. The problem with Utd is that until the Fernandez deal, they only had 1 of those core prerequisites.

26th July 2020 at 2:02 pm #134605Not the PL but tonight but see the first of the Championship Play Off Semi Finals with Swansea v Brentford followed by tomorrow night Cardiff v Fulham.
A Cardiff v Swansea Play Off Final would be a bit tasty even without any fans which could be a blessing.?
Bit torn on this one I have a long term personal affection for Brentford but I know how much it all means for Marlon Pack.
There’s going to be some good watches amongst these games with so much on the line starting with tonight.

26th July 2020 at 2:21 pm #134621“Werner posted a picture of him at a London airport, with Chelsea concluding their Premier League campaign at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, and Havertz ‘liked’ the image.”
One Eagle landed and hopefully the other to land shortly Werner at the Bridge this afternoon let’s hope he brings enough luck with him to inspire Chelsea to at least a point.

26th July 2020 at 2:54 pm #134637Brian-Yes mate, spot on.You can buy a VVD for £75m or you can just throw £80m @ an average Maguire, for example. Its all down to spending it wisely, plus,Liverpool spend the money they received from Coutinho sale.

26th July 2020 at 3:02 pm #134640Was VVD available for United to buy then Mav? Even when VVD was at Southampton it was obvious he wanted to sign for Liverpool it takes two to tango buddie.
Putting aside the Maguire fee which intact was a reflection of the limited quality Centre Backs available at the time who else was there United to buy in that position the reality is there was not really anyone better than Maguire available to buy.

26th July 2020 at 4:14 pm #134664AnonymousNice little surge forward from Keita there. Man I am starting to feel optimistic about him, which I know I’ve got to not get carried away with, as he can get injured at any time.
