No, there probably isn’t, Adlab, but you know as well as I do that the Football Writers Award doesn’t necessarily go to the best footballer. It covers a huge wide range of attributes, including influence on the rest of the team, leadership skills, how much they have improved, whether they have contributed to the team actually winning anything, as well of course whether they have had an outstanding season, which by any measure, Henderson has.

KDB is a wonderful footballer and would walk in to any team in the world, bar none, but in the first 4 attributes I have listed above, has he outperformed Henderson? I would say no.

So would I, Mav! It’s omly in the last 2 years or so that I’ve seen the massive improvement in Henderson. He really suffered initially in Gerrard’s shadow but under Klopp he has blossomed in to a true leader and is Klopp’s right hand man on the pitch. He’s not the glamorous star that VVD or Salah or even Trent is, but Klopp knows he will follow his instructions to the letter, and he is what makes this team click.

All true HH. Hendo has improved massively and Mav, I wouldn’t swap him for that French tosser either. I wouldnt do a straight swap but… while Hendo has improved dramatically, this is all massively over-blown. You have loads of Liverpool fans saying Hendo is world class. I mean, everyone is entitled to their opinions and mine is that those people are thinking with their hearts and not their heads.

I wouldn’t so much describe Van Dijk as glamorous but I’d say he’s more Imperious. I don’t think that people are being rational. I mean, I hear from so many that Van Dijk is the best defender in the world (and he is) but the same people will then say Hendo should win this award or that… How much better can you be than the best defender in the world? Allison has been absolutely shocking since the restart but for me, he is the best keeper in the world. Does he not get a mention?

Mane was recently being voted up by Messi for the Ballon dor… now, Messi was only doing that to split the Van Dijk votes up but he picked a player who is THAT good that he fits into the conversation. He didnt mention Hendo and neither did any of his teammates, who also spoke about Mane.

We are taking these players for granted. If Van Dijk and Mane left, does anyone think we’d defend the PL? If people answer yes, I say they are naive.

Re-Pogba,it seems as if nobody wants that thug anymore,you get the impression that teams would much rather have Corona than Pogba,just like DDG-burdens on the team.Much rather have E.Dier or Disco Sisssiko than that French Instatwat.

The game badly need fans back but I think the return had been a huge success.

This forum has had some great debates and it’s the best site around for discussing football

But tbh despite Chelsea being in the top 4 since October and throwing countless chances to secure a CL place away and putting aside what may or may not happen at Leicester in the final analysis if Chelsea can’t secure a point at home v Wolves to secure a CL place they don’t deserve a CL place.

Mav, Utd are improving and although I don’t watch them and you do, they seem to be going in the right direction since they signed Fernandez. Who knows, maybe they can nail another big signing over the summer. Of course, we could be papering over the Ole shaped cracks, making it harder for them to replace him with someone better. Like it or not, he’s going to get another chance but you never know, maybe someone huge will become available over the summer, or Utd might realise that they should have gone for Poch ages ago 😛

Whatever happens, Utd are still a mega financial powerhouse, who could flex their muscles at any time. Cross your fingers that it’s this summer and instead of going for tossers like Pogba, they go for gritty , super talented lads like Fernandez 😉

Mac. Money is money. be a spender or buyer. Yes you bought good replacements…because you had Money. In the Boadrooms of EVERY CLUB. the agenda will always be how do we make MORE……MONEY. Do not get obsessed with it…it is a fact of life…like it or not. Personally, I do not like it or what goes with it, e.g.paying youngster thousands per week before they have put a season in. Paying extirpate amounts for “star” players but I cannot do anything about it. How you make money is also an issue and I believe over the years no club comes out of it smelling of mountain air, It started a long, long time ago and just grew. Once sponsors, TV and VAR got hold of this game match fixing will be more apparent. The only money that is important is in your own Bankaccount
