Sorry to bring up var again but how the feck did it take the officials two mins to call that a pen for Southampton? Clear pen
The right call but how many tines this season has var called it wrong?
Itโs done some good things but they have got far to many var calls wrong

19th July 2020 at 3:49 pm #131736I think if you examine the stats Sean they’ve got a lot more right than wrong with the easiest decisions with the lines being offside.
But when they’ve got it wrong they’ve got it spectacularly wrong as per last weekend but it’s primarily down to human error at Stockley Park be intersting to see what happens under FIFA control I think they’ll be much more reference to the pitch side monitor which would put the decisions in the hands of the match referee.

19th July 2020 at 4:52 pm #131750That’s a harsh half-time score for the FOxy Ladies, they’ve been a lot better than that scoreline would suggest, but a slice of luck and two masterful finishes from Sir Harry gives us what it is!
And maybe the 3-0 scoreline is helping, but that was possibly the best half of footy I’ve watched since the re-start. Some decent chances, and some decent saves, at both ends of the pitch.

19th July 2020 at 5:00 pm #131752Putting aside any benefits to Chelsea and United Kane has been magnificent and is back close to his very best.
It could have been different were it not for a brilliant save by Lloris and and the unlucky deflection from Justin.
Spurs are a very good counter attacking team under Jose now and things could get worse yet for Leicester.

19th July 2020 at 6:02 pm #1317662nd half was a bit of a fizzle-me-snizzle, not a lot happened at all. Should we perhaps describe it as a clinical performance by Spuds?

19th July 2020 at 6:40 pm #131773Ah I know nine mate. Called some really good ones but as you say, they have got easy decisions wrong and itโs takes one trained skilled person 3 minutes to call something wrong that a blind dog can see

19th July 2020 at 6:52 pm #131776Didn’t see the game Sean. I do think things will be better if the Refs use the pitch side monitors a bit more.

19th July 2020 at 7:05 pm #131781Well done Nancy
Maybe all the talk of Maureen slowly getting better is true tho I hope it isnโt ?
You will never be totally bad tho while you have the likes of Kane
I wonder if he might be making a few clubs think about him in the summer tho as his injury had stopped much of the talk …._____________________________

19th July 2020 at 8:31 pm #131819With the official Coronation in place, it looks more like a possible Draw for this coming Wednesday. Also with the 100 points out of reach, I don’t think our lot will be that bothered. Could be therefore at least a point on the cards for the Blues.
A point that could be significant.

20th July 2020 at 7:33 am #131956Nine but why donโt they already use the monitor mate? Itโs been a success the few timeโs the refs have gone to the monitor mate
You have people sitting in a room getting simple calls wrong. Itโs a joke mate and it happens far far to often.
Iโm not talking about offsides. They are black and white. A toe offside means you are offside. No problem with that.
The way they use the lines can be an issue as itโs like they are trying to prove some very very marginal calls are offside. Like firmino againest villa. He wasnโt offside abd they took ages to try price he was
My issue is the high tackles, the elbows, penos, handballs etc. To many of them are called wrongly
Var has been a farce. Itโs taken a lot out of the game. First season so let hope itโs improves but the delays, the wrong decisions etc are taking a bit out of the game for me

20th July 2020 at 8:28 am #131970I agree Sean the Referees should be consulting the pitch side monitors but that’s down to the PGMOL who have told them not to do it that will I think change when FIFA take responsibility for VAR. Hopefully!?

20th July 2020 at 8:39 am #131978Nil, I would take a draw right now if it was on offer even though a Chelsea win would seal a CL place and it’s about time Liverpool lost a home game too.?
Recovery time will be an issue given how much energy was expended by Chelsea on Sunday I’m hoping both Pulisic and Kante will be fit for Wednesday night.
I know everyone says Liverpool are on their holidays but I don’t buy that not for this game Liverpool have waited 3 years to win the League and be presented with the trophy and Wednesday nights the night.
Going to Anfield looking for a result is always difficult going to Anfield v a truly great Liverpool team after such a tiring game on Sunday whilst Liverpool are fully rested on the night they are presented with the PL trophy makes it trebly difficult. Fingers crossed though.?????

20th July 2020 at 11:03 am #132032Sean…what I fail to understand is why the technology has not developed on these hairline decisions. My question to the boffins would be the split second a toe or shoelace indicates offside or whatever the half of the screen turns RED. then you would not need humans scratching there head for endless minutes then probably get it wrong. It needs takeing to to the next level to eliminate humans……Automate it!!!!!

20th July 2020 at 1:07 pm #132096Brian, it is automated on offside decisions already there is no way the human eye can make the finite calls that the VAR technology is currently making.
Whether a toe nail being offside is the right way to go or not is however debatable.

20th July 2020 at 1:22 pm #132104Anonymousgenuine question with regards to offside. is the rule enforced the moment the player makes contact with the ball or when it actually leaves the players foot? whilst there is only a split second difference between the two it can make a difference between onside and offside.

20th July 2020 at 1:37 pm #132110My understanding Paxton is that a player is offside as soon they become active in the play. ie a player can be in an offside position when the ball is played to them but they are only offside when that player becomes active in the play.

20th July 2020 at 1:48 pm #132118Anonymousyes, but when are they deemed active? is the moment the player passing to them touches the ball, or when it leaves their foot?
