Ye but I thought you defended well in the 2nd half stevo. The team are working hard for each other
I think us liveroool fans need to calm down. We just won the league for the 1st time in 30 years ffs ?
Itβs only natural there has been a drop off but I still just want to see us finish the season with two wins

16th July 2020 at 9:30 am #129596AnonymousLiverpool lads. Dont be disappointed, it must be incredibly difficult to raise a team who have won everything for the past 12 months, (bar FA cup) and have had to contend with an extended season and all sorts of lunacy in between. Results for all teams have been up and down since the restart… West Ham did the double over us this year and we struggled against relegated Norwich.
I can tell you now from experience, when the trophy is lifted, you wont be thinking about the goonies result…. enjoy the party when allowed to.

16th July 2020 at 9:51 am #129609“Maybe the anti climax is because we won the league so early. Itβs not like winning a one off final.”
That’s exactly it Sean I experienced exactly the same on the 5 occasions Chelsea won the PL winning a Cup Final on the day is always a bit more exciting but it still doesn’t carry the kudous of winning the PL.
I don’t think it’s surprising that Liverpool aren’t quite hitting the heights they were they’ve been flat out for two seasons and playing almost to perfection it’s very difficult to remain at that level and at that level of concentrstion once the title has been won.
I’m a tad worried that that level might return next Wednesday though. π

17th July 2020 at 6:50 am #130195Looks like we’re going to get a bit of a play-off between Foxy Ladies and Floppy Boys on the last day, although with injuries and form, don’t fancy the Foxy Ladies chances… but you never now, do you!

17th July 2020 at 7:28 am #130215Going to be a tight finish for sure. Just need Mourinho and co to do their bit on Sunday. Hoping Alli and Kane have their diving boots on! ?
Would be typical of Utd to slip up against West Ham leaving us needing to win at Leicester. I’ve no confidence at all in Liverpool beating Chelsea the way things are looking. Frankly, though, if Utd can’t beat West Ham at home then we don’t deserve CL football.

17th July 2020 at 7:37 am #130222Sold those to Floppy-Emoji Man and the Dancing Queen!!
But a tight finish for sure, hopefully all decided on a crappy VAR decision, for my personal enjoyment, a nice YooUtd run into the penalty box, looking for contact and then falling over decision in the 88th minute or something… that would be fun!

17th July 2020 at 7:42 am #130226Oh I’d be delighted for Kane to do one of these on Sunday to win a pen ?
No one will talk about this dive because it's Harry Kane and he's an English player. pic.twitter.com/wm7bizwWDg

Spurs definitely looking a bit better again though. Will be interesting to see how they and Arsenal strengthen this summer.

17th July 2020 at 8:15 am #130245You know I’m going to have to google something in return, but not sure if everybody wants to watch a 7 hr video… π
Yeah, my Super-Spuds are showing “something” again, would be happy with a new RB and the lad from Southampton, and maybe another CM to replace Jan the Man. Not that fussed about anybody further up the pitch. Don’t get me wrong, always room for improvement, but I wouldn’t have that as a priority myself.
As for the Goonies, can’t say I’m that bovvered what they do! π

17th July 2020 at 8:25 am #130251Isn’t it time Kane had some real competition though? I feel like he’s starting to need someone breathing down his neck for a starting spot to keep him on his toes. Not sure who that could be, mind. He also now regularly has a spell on the sidelines midway through the season, although that tends to coincide with an upturn in form for Spurs, in fairness.
Really glad we didn’t sell you Martial now though as was looking possible when Mourinho was at Utd!

17th July 2020 at 8:36 am #130260Pukki from Norwich wouldn’t be a bad idea for Spurs now with them going down. He’d probably settle for being backup to Kane but would give him decent competition. Would get some of your locals turning into Spurs fans too Chucky!

17th July 2020 at 8:38 am #130264Ed,I’m not sure who would be prepared to come to Spurs to primarily sit on the bench and be a No 2 to Kane.
Kane himself is in a difficult place now he won’t go this Summer but he wants to win trophies, I guess it depends how things shape up next Season under Mourinho but results wise Mourinho has had we an effect this season but Kane will turn 28 next Summer and he will probably need to feel Spurs are close to winning major trophies by then or just commit himself to being a one Club man like Le Tisser.
We’re both Spurs fans on Sunday though Ed eh!?

17th July 2020 at 8:41 am #130265Too right Nine! Completely agree re Kane. I think someone like Pukki could do ok though. A bit like Ighalo at Utd. I was severely underwhelmed by the Ighalo signing but been pleasantly surprised at how much help it has been to have a proper striker to call upon when needed and who doesn’t demand a starting spot.

17th July 2020 at 8:48 am #130272Can only see a spurs win on Sunday
You have to give utd credit. They move the balm really well now and the 3 lads up front are excellent
Few tight var decisions that went their way but they are playing really well and I just canβt see them finishing outside the top 4. They have momentum and are the inform team

17th July 2020 at 8:54 am #130278Congrats to Hazard on winning by his first La Liga title albeit it’s been a bit of an injury hit season for him.
“Chelsea will receive Β£10M-15M for Eden Hazard winning La Liga with Real Madrid” ESPN. Good news for the transfer fund.?

17th July 2020 at 10:18 am #130336Ed, on the point about Ighalo, it just goes to show you donβt need huge bucks to find an effective player for you. And indeed, the best player a club can sign is the most effective one as opposed to the supposedly best one who may not work as well in other systems, and weβve all seen the money wasted over the years. Iβve always wondered over the years how many lost souls there are out there who have failed to be found and so realised their potential. When we went in for Andy Robertson, I think the only other club interested were Stoke. Yet Liverpool obviously saw something in him they knew would suit both us and him. But most clubs donβt want to take the risk and feel better bringing in a more established name.
