Ed, United are on a magnificent run, Fernandes has turned their season around Greenwood has come in and been a revelation and Pogba is back and playing well overall they don’t look like dropping any points and their fixtures are favourable Southampton and West Ham at home with Leicester away on the last day of the season the trickiest I think United will finish 3rd now.
And Ole’s future will be secured.?
I think the race for 4th place will go until the last day of the season and it still looks like 4 from 5 to me although you can’t rule both Wolves and Sheffield United out after the results this weekend.
Chelsea have to beat Norwich tomorrow night but considering they’ve dropped 11 points to West Ham and Bournemouth this season and who else has there is no guarantee of that and they then face Liverpool away on what looks like a Mission Impossible and Wolves at home which is a tough one if they can beat Norwich a point versus Wolves may be enough but you just can’t call it all.
I don’t wish City any ill will but the announcement this morning adds to the intrigue.
Cheers 9’s

13th July 2020 at 9:03 am #128102Nine, playing Liverpool at the moment is far from Mission Impossible. As I said previously, I’d have loved for Utd to get this Liverpool rather than the one we faced who were chasing their first league title in 30 years. They struggled against Villa and dropped points against Burnley. Chelsea seem to do better against the better sides, too, so I still fancy Chelsea against Liverpool. Utd should really be securing third now but still lots to do. Southampton beat City and West Ham beat Chelsea so all still to play for. As long as we only need a draw in our game away to Leicester, I’ll be confident.

13th July 2020 at 11:20 am #128159It’s 4th place or bust now Ed. ?
Apart from the Chelsea defence my big concern about the Liverpool game is that’s it’s the night they get presented with the trophy which will act as a further motivation for them.
Had it not been for Bournemouth Chelsea would have been out of it now first priority is 3 points v Norwich Leicester’s fixtures are tough Sheff Utd at home and then Spurs and United away providing Leicester falter a win over Norwich and at least a draw v Wolves might be enough.????????

13th July 2020 at 11:25 am #128163Will be a tight finish, that’s for sure Nine. I wonder what effect this will have on our semi final. As big as an FA Cup would be for either side, both will desperately want CL football next season. Could we see two sub strength sides for a semi-final? I’d hope not but with the games coming thick and fast now, you wouldn’t bet against it

13th July 2020 at 11:26 am #128164Always fancied utd when you looked at the fixtures and 3rd is nailed on now. Chelsea’s fixtures have proved more difficult
I still fancy us to beat Chelsea. We should have won by about 5 on Saturday but only for the keeper
Utd deserve top four now since they lost againest burnley in jan. they have been excellent.
Pogba is playing very well and utd look a proper team now
You would strongly fancy then for the Europa league and even the fa cup

13th July 2020 at 11:31 am #128167Sean, Utd nailed on for 3rd?! ? I’m pretty sure you weren’t having that Liverpool had won the league even when you were 20+ points clear until it was beyond doubt. Hope you’re right.
I think we’ll get 4th, Chelsea 3rd and I think we’ll win the Europa and City will beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final. Got a sneaky feeling we’ll lose on pens or by a single goal against Chelsea on Sunday.

Can’t see you saying that about Kepa after our game Sean.?
I hope we don’t get embarrassed I’m not expecting anything from the Liverpool game but providing Leicester falter in their remains games all of which are tough a win against Norwich and a point v Wolves could be enough for 4th place but after the weekend who knows and Chelsea must be the only team in the P
L to drop 11 points against West Ham and Bournemouth.???_____________________________

13th July 2020 at 2:10 pm #128200Kolasinac is just as vulnerable as Luiz Stevo and was responsible for Spurs first goal.

13th July 2020 at 5:39 pm #128235The standard of defending at times is rushed and reckless rather than measured and composed. If you are quite tight by the byline, it is still possible right-footed using the outside of your boot to turn which would take your body forwards.
Some players don’t seem to be able to hold on to possession and easily succumb to pressure. It’s a collective effort and attacking players should take the attitude of tracking back to support defenders and defensive midfielders.
United are one of the most inform teams with 4 wins on the bounce with a great opportunity to make it 5. The League of late though has proved to be unpredictable and maybe Southampton could cause an upset, but United seemed more settled, organized and belief they can push on game by game.

13th July 2020 at 5:45 pm #128238Nil, United look nailed on for 3rd place now and 4th place looks likely to be a straight fight between Leicester and Chelsea.
I just wish one of Chelsea’s last 3 games wasn’t away to Liverpool on the night the PL trophy will be presented to Liverpool.?

13th July 2020 at 5:58 pm #128240Yeah, I get what you’re saying Nine. A bit tricky for you guys fixture-wise. Leicester have United at home on the last day. I think you’ll do enough to beat Wolves. If I was to choose, it would be United for 3rd and Chelsea to edge out Leicester.
Must say it’s grown of excitement of late as a Neutral watching these games unfold. Naturally for you guys though, it’s tenterhooks. Here’s hoping you get CL Footy and do as well as you can in the remaining part of the FA Cup. 🙂
Cheers

13th July 2020 at 8:59 pm #128250AnonymousNine, you’ve nothing to worry about with regards to playing us. The lads are not that motivated by the chance to set records and everything else is won or done. If Chelsea need the win, they’ll get it, 90%.

13th July 2020 at 9:04 pm #128251Disagree mak. We have played well the last two games, creating plenty of chances
Chelsea is going to be a very very tough game and nine, there is no way Chelsea will be embarrassed. I fancy us to win but just by one goal. It be a very tight game

13th July 2020 at 9:47 pm #128254No idea how Romeu escaped a red in the first half. Other than that Southampton look a very good side. Does VAR not check these things?
Romeu had good intentions here. Obviously. pic.twitter.com/F7Y3cNuGfQ

13th July 2020 at 9:59 pm #128257So much for the nailed on for 3rd guys ?
Southampton should be down to 10 but we should still have put them away. Wasted too many decent chances.
Must win game now away to Palace

13th July 2020 at 10:06 pm #128258Another surprising outcome. I think realistically up to Wolves in the table, 3rd and 4th places are open to change. Absolutely brilliant climax to the Prem. Just a shame there’s only a couple of weeks or so left of it. It’s felt like a tournament 🙂

13th July 2020 at 10:09 pm #128259The fact that we’ve blown yet another chance to capitalise on a Chelsea slip up is exactly why it’s still wide open in the race for CL places. Think those 2 dropped points could prove crucial. Chelsea may well not need to beat Liverpool if we drop any more points at Palace
