Lots of positives at OT and Greenwood looks a real player. Good news for England too.

4th July 2020 at 6:02 pm #126140I really think serious questions will be asked at Old Trafford following Greenwood’s latest showings regarding whether or not Sancho is the essential signing he looked like he would be for Utd 6 months or so ago.
Greenwood is looking very difficult to drop on that right hand side.

4th July 2020 at 6:21 pm #126141Ed, he may play right but maybe he will move central?
Can he play across the line?
I don’t know as I don’t watch united much but it would seem he is a better striker option than rashford….Don’t know how but we are currently 1-0 up at wolves!! Keep it up lads … love saka, happy he scored!

4th July 2020 at 6:53 pm #126143Steve, he’s been playing off the right and doing well there. Rashford, whilst being below his best since the restart, is having a very good season this season coming in off the left and Martial has pretty much nailed down that central spot recently.
I’m convinced Greenwood will eventually move to a more central position but he’s doing very well off the right at the moment. He’s completely 2 footed so it’s hard to say at the moment what his best position is

4th July 2020 at 8:15 pm #126145Mak…I think a CL ban on City may just give them enough to say lets go and win it this year, personally I think we are still not quiet ready, but put our game together and a little incentive may just do it. I do believe there will be six competing next season for EPL with City and Liverpool ahead because both will freshen existing squads

4th July 2020 at 9:04 pm #126150Brian, you wouldn’t want it but I think no CL football would give City an advantage in the PL next season as well as increased motivation. That’s what happened with Chelsea a couple of seasons ago when we won it.

4th July 2020 at 9:28 pm #126151AnonymousBrian, I think City are definitely ready to win the CL. They have the bit between their teeth now, I would fancy them to do it TBH.

His finishing reminds me a bit of Fowler . He looks a very special player and is only going to get netterv
I see Harry maguire was skint again.

5th July 2020 at 12:26 pm #126158Mak..Have been watching City too long, I should know better in these enlightened times and with the squad and manager we have. I thought I had passed the divide last season, when I went to a match and had enough confidence that we would win no matter who the opposition was and even when we were beaten we usually played a good game. My nervous disposition about the CL is one of self uncertainty not the team, after watching them beat R Madrid I should have better confidence. City are capable, I just cannot get rid of the “but” out of my mind!!!!! Ohhhh. to be a City fan. We have now had a few years of success I should no better

5th July 2020 at 12:41 pm #12615910 years in fact Brian!
City have been very very quiet about their appeal to CAS. Maybe wishful thinking but just got a feeling that they may win their appeal despite, as Martin Samuel put it, the “teams in red” trying to influence the outcome. We will see in a couple of weeks.
Still dont like it without the crowd. One thing I have felt is the improved standard of refereeing. Less crowd, manager and player pressure?

5th July 2020 at 1:33 pm #126161Adlab, re City’s appeal we’ll know next Monday.
Be amazed if City get better than a reduction from a two year European ban to a one year ban but you just never know.

5th July 2020 at 1:39 pm #126162Sean, the Moura handball incident v Sheffield United wasn’t a VAR problem it was a rules problem and you would hope that IFA have a rethink on accidental handball by an attacker in the Summer break.

5th July 2020 at 2:07 pm #126163AnonymousBrian, your position isn’t irrational. Those doubts that you have are in the backs of everyone’s minds. The fans in the stands, the players on the pitch, everyone. So when the opposition score at a time when these doubts are coming to the forefront, maybe the gasps from the crowd are a bit louder and the players heads are a little more distracted.
It takes a while to shift these kinds of things. You can get a bit closer each time until everyone is confident that it can happen. When it comes tot he CL, you need a bit of luck also. You won’t be the better team every night. For me, City have looked on the ball since the return. They look hungry and they have extra motivation to come back like this, it might be their last CL tie in years. This will focus them and I don’t think anyone will have any time for doubt, when the CL returns.
We’ll have to see of course but right now, I’m calling City to win it.

5th July 2020 at 2:27 pm #126164If City get the breaks you need to win a CL and they don’t give away any silly goals which they are some times capable of I think they’ve got as much chance as anyone else to win the CL this season.
I think they might need a fully fit Aguero though. Let’s hope he recovers in time.
