Ye threeps, I think we try that ball over the top far to much at times.
Gomez has having a shocker.
Kdb is just world class.

2nd July 2020 at 9:35 pm #126063AnonymousGuys, am I being unreasonable for thinking that us being spanked by City here is not ok? I know we’ve won the league but we’re so much better than this. We’ve got to try to beat everyone, especially the only team who can currently threaten us (not counting next season where Chelsea, Utd and Wolves may do better).

2nd July 2020 at 10:32 pm #126067AnonymousYa Sean, I mean I should be more understanding of the lads celebrating etc. I just wanted top at least give City a game. They thrashed us and honestly, we’re so much better than this. It’s just unacceptable.

2nd July 2020 at 10:35 pm #126069A very enjoyable watch.
But a very strange game in some ways. Liverpool could have been a couple up in the first 15 minutes but then our midfield regained some control, with KdB starting to pull the strings. The first 5 minutes of the second half, we could and should have really put the game to bed, missing three glorious opportunities. Then after the fourth, the game petered out somewhat.
The importance of the game/result at this stage is irrelevant but it should give us a big boost for the remainder of the season in the FA Cup and CL._____________________________

2nd July 2020 at 10:36 pm #126070Think Klopp should have played some more of the kids tonight that would have helped with some more drive in the team as the first team understandably weren’t all there tonight after the recent celebrations. Sorry, but Fabinho is at best a squad player for me. As for Keita, it’s like he needs a good run of games – daft not to start him tonight. Is he ever going stay injury free enough though? Reinforcements needed in midfield. KDB a joy to watch tonight: cool, calm, brilliant. He’d walk into any team in world football. Player of the season for me.

2nd July 2020 at 10:37 pm #126072Anonymouscredit to Sterling, I wouldn’t often want to give him any credit but now that we are Champions, I guess I really don’t mind about that whole thing anymore.
Lads, I know I may sound ungrateful here and I am wondering if I should just shut up and accept it but if you take the foot off the gas, you lose momentum. We were looking at a record points total but i think it’s pretty clear now that we won’t get it and that’s a crying shame because no other team would have had quite this chance. I mean, will we even beat Citys current record now? It really appears as if we won’t.
I’ll shut up now because I know this will only be annoying to some and apologies for that. I should just be happy with what we’ve won over the past 2 seasons and I am, I do care more about legacy than some though, so factor that to why I’m so unhappy with this performance.
Ok, rant over!

2nd July 2020 at 10:44 pm #126073Anonymous“Fabinho is at best a squad player for me. As for Keita, itβs like he needs a good run of games β daft not to start him tonight.”
We don’t have to agree and I won’t tell you “you’re wrong”, as over the years I think you and me have agreed on so much. I will say though that in my opinion, Fabinho is definitely going to be first team pick and also, that Keita has no future at the club. It would be a perfect time to give him a run int he team but it’s my guess that Klopp also no longer rates keita. I don’t really want to open up a debate here, just stating my opinion and if Im right or wrong, the future will tell. We can come back here and nod or point and laugh together.
As for KDB, ya absolutely brilliant and if City don’t get CL football, he’d be a great signing but I don’t think we could afford him, or that City would be stupid enough to make us fucking invincible… because if we had him in this team, we would win absolutely everything and I mean that literally. Who would beat us then? Nobody.
As for tonight though, I guess I must credit City for wanting it more. They wanted to show the PL Champions that they are going to be there next season and I believe them. I hear their message and I know Klopp will too.

2nd July 2020 at 10:54 pm #126075Mak, with KDB in the team, we would be the absolute complete side. As the commentators said tonight, he always hits the right ball and is highly intelligent. Need to find someone like that. As I’ve said on the other thread, City rarely, if ever, get a drubbing. Even in an off season, they score for fun. They are such a robust team. Get the defence sorted and they’ll be back next season, no doubt about it. Need to find our own KDB, but I’d take Mbappe π

2nd July 2020 at 11:04 pm #126077Hands off KdB.
But as we’re on the subject of coveting opposition players, if City had VvD, they would be the complete team._____________________________

2nd July 2020 at 11:23 pm #126078Ah Kdb is on a different planet
Really is some player and a real joy to watch
Sterling was excellent tonight
Mak, city were definitely out to show us and they did
They are an excellent side. Donβt be to downbeat mate. I was a tad frustrated but I just look at the bigger picture. 30 years and the wait is over
Still I want to finish the season well and klopp was furious tonight and I think we will finish the season strongly

2nd July 2020 at 11:47 pm #126079AnonymousYa Mikus, there is no finding a player like KDB, just like you won’t find Van Dijk. They are freaks.
It’s pretty insane when you look at both teams and just think that those nostalgic sides of the past, the 2005 Milan, some of the Barca teams, some of the Real’s and of course there are some legendary PL sides… These 2 sides are up there with them all.
Don’t need to say hands off, this is all fantasy. I mean I know if City lose CL for 2 years that KDB will likely leave but it won’t be to us, 100%. Take our admiration as the highest of compliments though.
To the City fans on here, I guess you lads got to kinda counter-punch ourselves, enough to leave a mark. I expected nothing less of ,what could form into a great rivalry. We dont need to delve into my disappointment that we weren’t able to compete at all and again, perhaps I should take it easier on the lads, they did a lot of celebrating but I hope they come back with a bang in the next fixture. The PL may be won but the season isn’t over. I watch therefor, I want my team to have the same desire as myself.

3rd July 2020 at 9:09 am #126081Mak…one thing that has developed between City and Liverpool is that there is a respect for each other and both know they are capable of winning a match…that is what makes it interesting to me , last night it was City’s turn to show there capabilities, I am sure Pep and Jurgen know that and it is great for the Premier league although I do not want it to develop into a two team race, I believe we will have a few more challengers next season

3rd July 2020 at 9:24 am #126082The gap between city and Liverpool is no were near 20+ points
Everyone knows that. We were more consistent this season and everything fell into place
City are a brilliant team

3rd July 2020 at 9:28 am #126083In a weird way, a humbling from city is just what our boys needed. We’ve just won our first title in 30 years, and everyone associated with the club has achieved overnight godlike status. Being brought back down to earth instantly is ideal imo. Credit to city as well, they had a point to prove, and they proved it. It took all of this season to bring city back down to earth, hopefully last night is all our lads need.

3rd July 2020 at 11:12 am #126086Phil Foden has often been hailed as one for the future I’ve watched him in a few of City’s games lately and he looks 100% a City player now with a big career in front of him and he comes across as being a no Billy Big Boots too. Potentially a big player for England as well.

3rd July 2020 at 11:45 am #126087A treat for City fans no doubt but of no relevance. City has to do some rebuilding – obviously – but that might not be so easy especially if things go wrong with the outstanding CL issue. Liverpool isn’t going to stand still so, if City is sidelined, it might (but no more than might) be Utd that gives Liverpool a few more problems than City did this season.

3rd July 2020 at 11:51 am #126088My betting SB is that the ban will be reduced to a season which City will be able to cope with and it could make them more competitive in the PL without any European football. July 13th?
