Ed, regards the FA Cup, we didnt play our full team. I think it was most of the way there but we rested a few. As for us going for the points record, the players may find it hard to be as motivated for it, as a team whoa re still playing for CL qualification or the like.
Just a note though lads, I think we can forget about home or away matches, as without a crowd it doesnt matter.

1st July 2020 at 11:26 am #125956AnonymousAlso, let’s not forget Wolves. I don’t see Leicester finishing in the top 5. They looked spent before the virus outbreak but Wolves are clocking up wins and have a good run in. Chelsea, United, Wolves, for the CL places (assuming 5th gets one). I cant be arsed working out the order.

1st July 2020 at 1:18 pm #125966Yeah I don’t think you can take too much from the FA Cup game both Liverpool and Chelsea fielded squad teams. But the Super Cup and the PL game at SB were tight games which would indicate a draw is not completely impossible.
But going to Anfield looking for a result at anytime is tough going there when Liverpool are chasing a PL points record on the night Liverpool are presented with the PL trophy makes it tougher still but I’m happy to go with the Ed’s prediction of a point.?
My prediction at the start of the season was a top 6 place which given all the circumstances would be an achievement a top 4 finish would be incredible but I’m not counting my chickens.
I think Spurs finishing in the top 4 is a big ask now because they are chasing too many teams above them and they won’t all slip up so unlikely but not totally impossible imo.
The 5th place conundrum will be confirmed by CAS on July 13th.

1st July 2020 at 10:17 pm #125998Chelsea were defensively woeful, didn’t work the Keeper and don’t deserve CL football playing like that even the EL will be a struggle with performances like that.

1st July 2020 at 10:38 pm #126000Kepa makes to many mistakes 9. Good keeper but he sometimes gets caught in two minds on whether to stay on his line or come out.

1st July 2020 at 10:54 pm #126001Didn’t watch the Chelsea game Nine. Was it that bad? Going to be a very close fight for those CL places by the looks of it. Every single one of those sides in and around the top 4 (from 3rd down) have a tendency to lose a game they shouldn’t

1st July 2020 at 10:55 pm #126002Sean, Liverpool turned themselves from challengers for the top 4 to CL and PL winners by signing a dominant Centre Back and dominant Keeper perhaps there’s a lesson there also Chelsea need a left back who can defend.
Liverpool are a good lesson Klopp sorted out the defence and Chelsea won’t really progress until they sort out the defence.
If you can’t win the game don’t lose the game one point could be the difference between CL football and no CL football. Stupid.
