Yeah have to admit, I fancy us to catch Leicester. As I said before, Chelsea’s run in is decent too so I think we’re too late to catch them but as long as we can get within 2 points of Leicester before we play them in the last game, I fancy us.
Very good performance tonight from Utd. Last season, we draw that kind of game. We seem more capable now of dominating games when needed as well as just countering.

30th June 2020 at 10:15 pm #125931That 3rd was a lovely goal too. The pass from Matic, the cross from Greenwood and the finish were top class. Greenwood keeps playing like this and I’ll not be overly disappointed if we miss out on Sancho. Sancho would massively improve us regardless but it’s important we don’t hurt Greenwood’s development

1st July 2020 at 8:06 am #125934Ed, I would describe Chelsea’s run in as tricky rather than decent.?
4 of Chelsea’s last 7 games are away v West Ham, Palace , Sheffield United and Liverpool and we still have to play Wolves at home on the last day of the season.

1st July 2020 at 8:28 am #125935Chelseaβs is very tricky nine.
Utds is very straight forward and you would have to strongly fancy utd
Pity utd have no real tough Games as it would really gauge how far they have come
Maybe fa cup run will tell us. Still they are in a great run and playing some good stuff

1st July 2020 at 9:05 am #125936Chelsea’s very tricky? Well I’d say Chelsea’s last game is easier than Utd’s. Leicester away is never an easy game and they’re having a better season than Wolves. Much rather be needing 3 points at home than away.
Palace away? They were awful against Burnley. Chelsea should have too much for them. They’re safe so nothing to play for
Sheff Utd are in free fall. They were terrible against Utd and got hammered by Newcastle.
West Ham are a very poor side. They are fighting for their lives though so, like our game against Villa away soon, you just never know in these ones.
Liverpool away. Much rather be playing this game now when the title is all done and dusted than any other time. Liverpool have very little to play for here, as with City in the last game.
Not having that Chelsea’s run is very tricky Sean. Possible they could drop points absolutely but apart from Liverpool, they’re all games they should be taking points and Utd need to make up 5 points which is a lot with so few games left. Not a coincidence Chelsea are still shorter odds to get top 4 over Utd.

1st July 2020 at 9:13 am #125937So Utd have:
Bournemouth (H) 3 points
Villa (A) 1 point
Southampton (H) 3 points
Palace (A) 3 points
West Ham (H) 3 points
Leicester (A) 1 point14 points
Chelsea have
West Hame (A) 3 points
Watford (H) 3 points
Palace (A) 3 points
Sheff Utd (A) 1 point
Norwich (H) 3 points
Liverpool (A) 1 point
Wolves (H) 3 points14 points
I have that as us getting 14 points more each which isn’t enough for Utd as we’re currently 2 behind with 1 game more played. Lots of potential slip ups for either side though with sides like Villa & West Ham fighting for their lives and Wolves & Leicester fighting for CL spots

1st July 2020 at 9:18 am #125938This is Leicester:
Everton (A) 1 point
Palace (H) 3 points
Arsenal (A) 0 points
Bournemouth (A) 1 point
Sheff Utd (H) 3 points
Spurs (A) 0 points
Man Utd (H) 1 point9 points in my opinion which has us taking Leicester’s spot. Our most realistic chance IMO. Not to mention Wolves of course who don’t have a bad run in either

1st July 2020 at 9:27 am #125939Ed, I like your points analysis.?
Palace and West Ham are always difficult games for Chelsea especially away. True Liverpool have secured the title but they are going for points records and that’s the game they get presented with the trophy too.
Let’s hope we both make the top 4 at the expense of Leicester and the rest.
Have a great day it’s pouring here in Sunny Somerset.?? Cheers 9’s

1st July 2020 at 9:37 am #125941Hope Eddy is correct cause I’ve got the Spuds getting 21 points, which would leave us 1 point ahead of Foxy Ladies, 3 points ahead of the Russian mob and 5 points ahead of the Floppy Boys… π

1st July 2020 at 9:43 am #125943Chucky, if Utd got 14 and Spurs 21, we’d be both be on 66 and our GD is much better ?

1st July 2020 at 9:47 am #125944Sean Palace are a poor side. Did you watch them against Burnley. They’ve nothing going forward. They’re also safe. Villa are poor but are fighting for survival and drew at Old Trafford with us. As I said, Wolves is no walkover but it’s at home at least. Would any day prefer Wolves at home to Leicester away. Liverpool away, the rest of us have all had to play Liverpool away too, but with the difference that they were chasing the title then. I’d much rather play your lot once you’re in celebration mode than hunting down your first title in 30 years!
Besides if Palace away is tricky for Chelsea, then it is for Utd too as we both have that one!

Doesnβt matter one bit the league is over. We be going to try and beat 100 points

1st July 2020 at 9:57 am #125948Chelsea convincingly beat Liverpool in the cup just before lockdown when there WAS something to play for Sean. So, for them to go to Liverpool and get a point against a side who have the league sewn up is not that far fetched. I’m not saying they’ll win.

1st July 2020 at 9:58 am #125949Again, I’m not playing down our chances of getting a CL spot. I think we’ll catch Leicester. I just don’t think we have enough games left to make up the deficit to Chelsea

1st July 2020 at 10:12 am #125951Sweddy Eddy from the land of ABBA is right, even Arse look like could catch Lesta, simply because they are not playing well.United could catch Foxies too,but not Chelsea, but things could get much more clearer if City are banned.

1st July 2020 at 10:43 am #125954It’s July 13th everybody has one eye one… that could really blow the race wide open…
On a vaguely serious note, for me, I can’t help feeling the season is over. We don’t really have a genuine chance for CL footy (just keeping one on the table just in case) and what footy I have watched was a sterile as COVOID testing center. Apart from the Spuds/YooUtd game, where the good folks from up Norff combined with “Dancing On Ice” for the home viewers amusement! π
Everything else has just been bloody awful to watch…
Anyway, you watch Foxy Ladies win and the Russian mob lose tonight, just to mess up everybody’s predictions!
