I think it would be best if all discussion relating to that song which happened over a year ago is left there now.
Liverpool fans need to enjoy the moment.

26th June 2020 at 3:27 pm #125807So Liverpool now have the points they need to claim the title, so well done to them, just a question, have the PL confirmed them as champions yet? I only ask as they donβt usually do that until the league has been completed in order to maintain a bit of sporting integrity. Hopefully they will do this season with the situation weβre in, that way if there are any more unforeseen problems thereβll be no arguments….Pagan

26th June 2020 at 3:34 pm #125808Not been on here much or watching any recent football as I’m sunning it up in the Algarve at the moment but I’d like to pass my thanks to supporters congratulating us. I caught a little of the match last night and despite the situation we find ourselves in I can say it feels great to be able to say my team are Champions.

26th June 2020 at 4:32 pm #125809Strangely, I am looking forward to next season although it will without me sat in my seat, hope whoever sits there keeps it warm!!!!! I think, maybe, it is because the season start is not far away although this year has a few games to go and I have become less interested now the title has been finally won, it is only the scrap at the bottom and who, MAYBE, pinches City’s place in the CL
I hope City go on to win it this year just to embarrass UEFA but I doubt if you could do that to numbskulls. If City are found Guilty I have to accept that with the Club I would still like to hear what the evidence was and how it was obtained though, City maybe banned for giving any such report though, through UEFA protocol. I am sure we will have plenty to play for this coming season. I would like to see a better distribtion of funds from the FA, TV companies, probably never happen because they want to keep discussing it over lunch forever more and keep there jobs safe, I do not mind the latter if there was was some clarity, honesty and fairness amongst them_____________________________

26th June 2020 at 5:11 pm #125812Pagan, there should be no arguments. We canβt be caught. Champions end of story even if the league doesnβt complete
Your not a bitter man so I take your post as a genuine question but I think the league is won. Itβs over now with regards who won the league

26th June 2020 at 5:18 pm #125813Sean, they donβt present the trophy until the last game so they still have a bit of control over the team that has mathematically won the league, and I can see why they do that, however this season I think they should present it at the earliest opportunity to put it to bed and to present it to the team, if things go tits up again before the end of the season it may be presented to the Anfield receptionist by a DHL courier, and thatβs some to be avoided…..Pagan

27th June 2020 at 8:06 am #125814Dear oh dear I hope Liverpool fans don’t live to regret their actions after another night with thousands on the streets in the middle of a pandemic that his killed over 40,000 people with Liverpool itself one of the hardest hit areas.
I get the Liverpool fans desire to celebrate but not like this.

27th June 2020 at 1:48 pm #125818I’m not just having a go at Liverpool fans Mak this is prevalent all over the UK as we saw this week with the beaches in Bournemouth it’s mainly the under 40’s who seem to think that they are immortal and immune from Corona virus when they’re not and even if these people who are completely disregarding the social distancing rules don’t get it themselves they could pass it on to other members of their families.
The danger hasn’t passed and it’s completely irresponsible wherever it is happening.

27th June 2020 at 3:22 pm #125819AnonymousAh ya I know you weren’t Nine and even if you were, it’d be pretty indefensible but as you say, it’s more wide-spread. I just want to distance myself from them (no pun intended but now that we’re here…).
It really does show up the self-absorbed nature of people. They need to have a good time and if it literally kills someone else, fine, it’s not like they will get the blame.
The virus in Ireland is as close to being eradicated as you can get at this time. We still have a few deaths and also 10-20 new infected every day but the vast majority of these cases a through what I think they called ‘known threads’ or something like that, as in they are expecting infected via successful contact tracing efforts, so it’s reasonably contained.
Now, we had our fair share of idiots ourselves but I think luckily for us, our weather wasn’t as good as yours and we also didnt have any big events like the PL being confirmed. We seem to have gotten away with it though, regards said fools.
The mass gatherings at beaches and the moronic Liverpool fans is going to turn into a massive flair up, like what you’re seeing in the Southern states in USA. Some of the conservative states have a lot of people who think this is all a hoax, or just not important at all and their willful ignorance is starting to show, in a sharp rise of infected. The same thing will happen in the UK and it’s really disgraceful.
As we’ve seen, the UK healthcare system has not handled this well, with the death to infected ratio being extremely high. To the English lads on here, you’re going to have to continue to weather the storm. I hope none of these idiots end up hurting yourselves or your families.

30th June 2020 at 8:09 pm #125926AnonymousHHmmmm well, I am totally ok with them cancelling the remainder of the season. No asterisk to be seen here (well, not a relevant one anyway).
I will say that we have leicester now , we’ll have Bournemouth and Liverpool in 2 weeks, at least. If this is the case then I think the best course of action would be to just consider the last game played and give the Liverpool team the PL trophy at an undisclosed site, or wait until the start of the new season. Im not sure what this will do to teams who have wages to pay though. Obviously if any PL clubs are going to go bankrupt as a result, then something else has to be done. I’ve no idea what but … If people are going to be idiots and put everyone else in danger then football has to take a back seat.

30th June 2020 at 9:00 pm #125927United at a canter currently although the linesmen needs specs for missing the ball going out of play for a throw in, in the build up to United’s second goal.
United have not lost a PL game since the end of January and are well in the race for a top 4 place imo.
