“On one hand, we could hope City are still in it by the time our match comes up.
Mak, City haven’t been in the title race for quite some while.
It could even be over tonight with City giving Liverpool a guard of honour at the Etihad but whenever it happens it’s just a matter of time before Liverpol are confirmed as PL Champions and that’s been clear for quite some time.
Hopefully next season it’s not a procession and there’s a 2,3 or even a 4 way fight for the title I’m pretty sure it will be a bit more competitive PL title race next season and City could have an advantage in the title race next season if they’re banned from Europe.

My love for the balk cane back when I saw how much it meant to the team and klopp
Just want to get it over the line 30 years, it will be absolutely huge for the city

25th June 2020 at 4:34 pm #125748City’s team tonight will be ridiculously strong let’s not be fooled
They could feel a 2nd team that would beat most pl 1st teams
I’ll be suprised if Chelsea win but I really hope they do and it’s over then
City have been very good in their two games. Best out of all the teams

25th June 2020 at 5:45 pm #125760Anonymous“We’ve picked up some form now but I think we’ve left it a little too late.”
Too late for the PL, perhaps (perhaps not) but definitely not too late for the Europa League. I don’t really watch Utd but Im not surprised that this Fernandez guy is having a good impact. I’ve said why before, basically the mentality, the fight, the grit. You need that in a team where the likes of Pogba aren’t really going to Gerrard or Keane their way through matches. So, I wouldn’t rule Utd out of the CL and I agree completely, to qualify is to qualify. If it’s as a result of Man City being banned, well it’s not just gifted to you, they are a team being punished for breaking the rules that gave them an advantage in the first place. So, were Liverpool in that same situation, I’d not feel the least bit bad about qualifying from 5th. I wouldnt care in the slightest and nobody else should either.

25th June 2020 at 5:53 pm #125761Anonymous“Mak, City haven’t been in the title race for quite some while. ”
Do you think I’m making the claim that they are in with a realistic chance of winning it? The mathematics are on the verge of being resolved, Nine. That’s all I’m talking about Nine, me old chum.
But ya, the guard of honour or beating City and celebrating the title at the whistle? Both sounds good in one way. I’ll be honest lads and let’s not have this blow up into anything, it’s not directed at any fans on here but there is a part of me that is still angry about the City players signing about Sean Cox being beaten up, right after they won the PL. I know they said they didnt know what they were signing etc or that the words somehow meant something else… Im not interested in arguing this but I am going to state that it’s a bit of karma and humility for the players, if they have to form a guard of honour the very next season after disgracing themselves in such a manner. It’s a bit of karma for them.
So, this is a reason why i want City to lose tonight. Do I want it more than us potentially winning it at the Etihad? Ooooffff I cant decide!
With only the players in mind, I guess I’d have to go for City to win tonight, they deserve to celebrate the PL win, after a match in it. I am seriously torn on this though. I guess I’ll be happy either way. It’s great to finally end the 30 year wait. I’ve been a proper Liverpool fan for almost all of that time.

I will admit that I was back shouting at the monitor when I saw Liverpool getting back into the grove. They out-fought and out ran Palace. As the game entered the final 30 minutes, Palace were knackered and just absolutely reeling from our almost relentless attacking. The hard work we put in for this game will result in us being that bit sharper for the City match. That is how you build match fitness. I still wish we had a game at the weekend though but hey, you can’t have everything.
Excited for tonight, come on Chelsea, win Liverpool the title!!! hahaha
“They’re gonna win us the league! They’re gonna win us the league! and now we gonna believe them and now we gonna believe them and nooww we’re gonna BELIEVVEE THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMMMM!!!!!!……..

25th June 2020 at 9:10 pm #125771Think PULISIC can be a really top class player once he starts fit. Saw how good he was in the super cup last season.
Still 45 mins to go.
Decent game

25th June 2020 at 9:58 pm #125772Anonymouswell thats that lads, the title is officially ours. I’ll try not to go too overboard but Im very pleased. I have to say that although we knew this a long time ago, I do like that we’re playingf it all out, it feels more real this way.
it might have been better for our lads to win it at the final whistle but we’ll get a guard of honour this way and as ive said before, that will humble the city players after their disgraceful behaviour last season.
there’s absolutely no assurances of us retaining this title and that’s why it’s special and worth winning. we’re the 5th different winner of the PL over the last 8 years and thats amazing. Long may it be so difficult to retain the PL because that would be incredibly special and I obviously cant wait to see if we can do that.
anyway, apologies to the neutrals and rival fans. your patience is appreciated 😉
i will say that Chelsea are the stand-oput team for me this season. i mean obviously not counting the finished products. the commentator has started saying the same things as me here, as Im writing it so screw him hahaha 😛
